Business advocacy groups focused on Austin
As the State Capitol, Austin is home to many nonprofit organizations that advocate on behalf of businesses and the issues that concern them. The business advocacy lists are open to all industries and groups with a mission to advance the best interests of its members, the industry and the community they serve. This list highlights Austin groups and local concerns. See also the companion list for Texas-wide advocacy groups that also call Austin home. To be eligible, the organization must be headquartered in Austin and file a 990 tax form here. Listmakers are grouped according geographic scope of service and ranked by revenue. Data is compiled from nonprofit 990 tax filings accessed from for the fiscal year ending in 2023, the most recent time frame available. Additional data provided by ABJ surveys and organization websites. Most organizations listed are 501(c)(6) with a few exceptions for (c)(4) and (c)(3) designations. Lobbying activity is not required for the list and some organizations included are politically neutral. While Chambers of Commerce are business advocates, they are not included on this list. See separate list for Chambers.
