Lana Del Rey's First Blockbuster Rockets Up The Charts

As 'Bluebird' drops, Lana Del Rey sees Born to Die and Ultraviolence return to U.K. charts, with the ... More former rising on four rankings and nearing a 300-week milestone. There's a lot of excitement surrounding Lana Del Rey's music career at the moment as she heads toward the release of a brand new album. She's keeping fans on the edge of their seats, as she hasn't revealed an official release date for the set. In the months since she began talking about the effort, she's changed its title more than once, and currently, it doesn't even have a name.
The singer-songwriter has already dropped multiple tunes from the forthcoming full-length, and fans seem to be loving everything she's offering. This week, as her latest cut 'Bluebird' arrives, interest in her catalog has surged once again. Del Rey brings multiple albums back to the charts in the United Kingdom, turning two different titles into bestsellers.
As is almost always the case, Del Rey's debut full-length Born to Die remains her most successful project in the U.K. This frame, the title appears on five rankings, thanks to both strong sales and streaming — especially for a collection that's been out for well over a decade.
This time around, it lifts on three of those lists, drops on just one (and only by a few spaces), and reenters the Official Vinyl Albums chart. It's a top 40 bestseller again on wax, landing at No. 39 after not appearing on the tally just last week.
Born to Die also manages to ascend by more than 60 spaces on both the Official Albums Sales (No. 37) and the Official Physical Albums charts (No. 35). Last week, the U.K. rankings were packed with Record Store Day releases, which were only available to purchase physically — which helps explain why so many titles are rising this week and why many classics have returned simultaneously.
The title also improves on the Official Albums Streaming ranking, rising three spots to No. 61. While it does decline by four spaces on the Official Albums chart, the fact that it's still living somewhere in the middle of the ranking of the most-consumed projects in the country — just one week away from its three hundredth stay on the tally — is amazing.
Del Rey fills a pair of spots on the Official Physical Albums chart this week. Ultraviolence, Del Rey's 2014 release and second proper major studio offering, is back as a bestseller on vinyl, CD, and cassette once more. The title narrowly finds space on the list — which features 100 positions — as it reenters at No. 97. It has now spent 119 frames somewhere on this specific tally and, in the past, has climbed all the way to No. 1, something that Born to Die also managed.

Why Kevin James doubted pal Ray Romano's ‘Everybody Loves Raymond' would work

Everybody loved Raymond — Kevin James, not so much. The comedian and actor admitted he initially had doubts about his friend Ray Romano's sitcom during the July 28 episode of 'Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.' 'The fact that he got a show… I couldn't believe it because he's such a low-energy guy,' James, 60, said. 'Sitcom guys were, to me, like the big, wacky [characters]. I'm like this — this is death. It's not going to happen.' Advertisement 7 Kevin James and Ray Romano at the 'Everybody Loves Raymond' 100th episode party. FilmMagic, Inc Turns out, the 'Grown Ups' actor underestimated his buddy. It wasn't until James' own sitcom, 'The King of Queens,' premiered on the same network two years later that he fully grasped the scale of 'Everybody Loves Raymond's' success. 7 'The King of Queens' premiered on CBS two years after 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' in 1998. ©CBS/Courtesy Everett Collection 7 Kevin James as Doug Heffernan and Leah Remini as his wife Carrie in 'The King of Queens.' ©CBS/Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement 'The first few years of going with Ray — even when our shows came out, we'd go to the same CBS functions and things like that,' James recalled. 'Red carpet things were so rough because they knew him, but my show had just come out… so they're taking a thousand pictures of Ray.' He remembered 'kind of standing there and nothing's clicking.' When he tried to step closer to Romano, the photographers asked for Romano alone. 'It was tough,' James added. Still, 'The King of Queens' went on to enjoy its own success, running for nine seasons until 2007. The series starred James as Doug Heffernan, Leah Remini as his wife Carrie and the late Jerry Stiller as Arthur Spooner. James' performance even earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006. 7 Ray Romano and Kevin James know each other from their stand-up days. 'He was so good on his sitcom, and the way he threw things away — I was like, 'Wow, I have to watch him and learn from him, because I'm going to be too big on camera,' James shared. 'So even in 'The King of Queens,' when I see episodes now, I'm like, 'Gee, throw it away, kid.' I'm like, 'Gee whiz. I wish I could go back and redo it.'' Advertisement Romano and James also found success in film, with Romano lending his voice to Manny in the 'Ice Age' franchise, and James starring in hits like 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' and 'Here Comes the Boom.' The two appeared together on screen when Romano guest-starred on James' sitcom 'Kevin Can Wait' in 2016.

Lana Del Rey's Decade-Old Single Charts Returns For Just The Second Time

A decade ago, Lana Del Rey was one of the most exciting newcomers in the global music industry. By that point, she had already proven her popularity with a handful of albums, though it was becoming clear that she was not going to be the type of pop star powered largely by singles. Del Rey carved a different path — one defined by complete collections that fans eagerly snapped up. Listeners fell in love with every track, not just those promoted to radio. Around that time, Del Rey also found time to contribute to the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, with her own "Young and Beautiful" selected as a single from the set. That tune needed more than a decade to become a proper global smash. Now, it's back again. "Young and Beautiful" Reappears This week, "Young and Beautiful" breaks back into the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 187. The ranking lists the most consumed songs around the world, using a methodology that blends both sales and streams, though all consumption that comes from listeners in the United States is excluded. Just the Second Appearance on the Global Tally This week marks just the second time ever that "Young and Beautiful" has appeared on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The track debuted at No. 180 last summer, on the chart dated August 31, 2024. It disappeared soon after and hasn't returned until now, nearly a year later. Lana Del Rey Scores Two Hits Del Rey fills two spaces on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. as "Summertime Sadness" — the remixed version that also credits producer Cedric Gervais — lifts one spot to No. 115. The tune, widely regarded as her most successful thanks to the electronic reworking that turned it into a smash a year after its original release, continues to perform well thanks to the season. "Summertime Sadness" also climbs by one rung on the Billboard Global 200, settling at No. 130. "Young and Beautiful" Was a Major Hit Upon Release When "Young and Beautiful" was brand new, it became one of Del Rey's biggest hits up to that date. The track reached the top 10 on several of Billboard's genre-specific rankings and peaked at No. 22 on the Hot 100. It also earned Del Rey one of her first Grammy nominations, as the Recording Academy selected it for Best Song Written for Visual Media. That year, however, the Grammy went to "Skyfall" by Adele.
