Wrestling Legend Jim Ross Provides Major Health Update Amid Cancer Battle

Legendary announcer Jim Ross has shared a positive update on his health. On his Grilling JR podcast, he confirmed his cancer is gone and praised AEW President Tony Khan.
Ross has been dealing with health issues for some time. He stated that his main goal now is to get back to work at the commentary desk.

Ross expressed his excitement about returning to AEW. He also delivered the welcome news about his health status.
"The cancer's gone, which I'm very happy to say," Ross shared (H/T to WrestlingNews.co). "So you know, I'm blessed that my health has returned, and I'm feeling pretty damn good."
He is eager to stop sitting at home. He is targeting a major upcoming AEW event for his return.
"My plan is to be in Dallas for the big event [AEW All In]," Ross said.

Praise For Tony Khan
Ross made a point to thank his boss for his support. He said Tony Khan has been "amazingly wonderful" during his illness.
"He supported me wholeheartedly and I really do appreciate that," Ross stated. "That's the way a boss should act, should do is take care of your people."

He noted that he feels indebted to Khan and AEW. He plans to repay that support by doing his best work when he returns.
"Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me, and I plan on being reciprocal and doing my best to take care of him in my role going forward," he said.
AEW All In weekend takes place in Arlington, Texas. It begins with the Starrcast convention on Friday, July 11, and the pay-per-view is on Saturday, July 12.
Ross has been a foundational voice for AEW since its inception. He signed with the company in April 2019 in a dual role as both a lead commentator and a senior advisor, bringing instant credibility and a familiar, respected voice to the new promotion.
For years, Ross was a regular fixture on the commentary team for Dynamite and major pay-per-views, calling many of the company's most historic moments. While health issues have recently seen him transition to making special appearances on shows like Collision and pay-per-views, he remains a key figure and mentor within the company.

WWE Evolution 2025 is back for the first time in seven years with another star-studded lineup of women's wrestling action. Closing out the blockbuster PLE weekend, the women of the WWE hope to steal the spotlight once again when they take the ring inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. All but two of women's WWE titles will be on the line this Sunday night, including the roster's two most prized possessions. In one of the more storied, drawn-out rivalries of the past decade, former Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley will look to earn the first victory of her career against the current titleholder, Iyo Sky. Ripley dropped the title to Sky in the most recent time they went one-on-one before putting on an instant classic in their WrestleMania 41 triple-threat match with Bianca Belair. Seth Rollins injury update: WWE star injures knee during Saturday Night's Main Event
A massive injury may alter all of WWE. Seth Rollins appeared to suffer a legitimate injury during Saturday Night's Main Event, putting the immediate future of one of the company's biggest stars in jeopardy. Advertisement The injury occurred during a match against LA Knight. Rollins was on the attack and had attempted a moonsault in the ring when his knee buckled. Rollins immediately went down and grabbed at his right knee. He backed into the corner of the ring and talked to the referee and Paul Heyman. LA Knight tried to attack Rollins but the referee stopped anything from happening. A ringside doctor eventually came and checked in on Rollins. "The Visionary" briefly spoke with the WWE staffer before he got to his feet. LA Knight hit the BFT and got the pin for the win in what seemed like a quick adjustment to the ending. After the match, people inside Atlanta's State Farm Arena took photos of medical personnel checking on Rollins. A video of Rollins circulating on social media showed his clear frustration, the wrestler barking expletives and requiring help to leave the ring. While the extent of Rollins' injury is currently unknown, it could be catastrophic and potentially means some big changes to storylines. Rollins is Mr. Money in the Bank, able to cash it in for a championship opportunity at any time, and there was speculation he would do it at Saturday Night's Main Event. The group has become one of the most menacing in WWE. Seth Rollins update reported the finish to Rollins and LA Knight was changed when Rollins was hurt, as he was set to win the match. The severity is unknown, but Rollins' injury is real and not part of a story. Seth Rollins injury history: Knee injuries have plagued career The apparent knee injury on July 12 is just the latest one for Rollins. Knee injuries have put him on the shelf several times in the past. Advertisement In November 2015, Rollins tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and meniscus in his right knee during a live event in Ireland. He was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and had to relinquish the title as he required surgery. He was out for seven months. Rollins then re-tore the MCL in the same knee in January 2017. Despite requiring another surgery, he didn't miss much time. He tore his meniscus again in January 2024, but this time in his left knee. Even though he was injured, Rollins still appeared in WWE in the build-up to WrestleMania 40. He wrestled both nights of the event with the torn meniscus, and was instrumental in the Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock and Roman Reigns storyline. He missed two months of action following the event. While knee injuries have been a constant problem for Rollins, he has also dealt with back issues throughout his career.
