Miley Cyrus Fans Question Boyfriend's Reaction to Her Kiss

Miley Cyrus Fans Question Boyfriend's Reaction to Her Kiss originally appeared on Parade.
Miley Cyrus has been seen out quite a bit since the release of her visual album Something Beautiful, most recentlywith her boyfriend by her side.
The new album dropped on May 30, with the one-day theatrical release coming up on June 12. In the days leading up to the release and in the days since, we've seen a lot of Cyrus while she promotes the new project—and no one is mad about that.
What fans do seem upset about, though, is the way the "Flowers" singer's boyfriend, Maxx Morando, is responding to her affection during a recent night out.
Cyrus and Morando attended Vanity Fair's 2nd Annual Directors' Dinner on Thursday night, and she was kind enough to share some photos from the evening.

Cyrus captioned the carousel of photos by writing, "@vanityfair party last night was my favorite kind of party… meaningful, connected & glamorous + they played '1, 2 step.'"
The photos featured Cyrus in a glorious chocolate-colored dress with a unique twisted-fabric bust line that made her the standout. There were six photos in total, with Morando posing in two of them.
The one picture in question shows Cyrus giving her boyfriend a peck on the cheek as he looks off into the distance. His face is expressionless, and it's not clear what he's thinking. Fans are definitely weighing in on the interaction, and they don't seem pleased.
"She just keeps on giving😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️," one fan said of Cyrus.
Another took aim at Morando, writing, "why does he look like hes in pain every time you show him affection...."
"Bc he actually is in pain knowing what kind of comments he'd get about his looks and age lol maybe it'd be better to stay friends with her? 😂," another suggested before tagging Morando.
Yet another weighed in, "hes a good looking guy, but he seems always p--sed off whenever she shows him affection, i think she should move on, deserves better."
The "Wrecking Ball" singer has been romantically linked to Liily drummer Maxx Morando since 2021. They first met on a blind date and then hit the red carpet together later that year for a Gucci event.
The pair have managed to keep their relationship pretty quiet aside from being seen out together for events. But Cyrus' mom, Tish Cyrus, did go on record to say that she loves the "We Can't Stop" singer's boyfriend. She told People in 2024, "He's cute. I think it shows just by looking at Miley, her face, and her smile at the Grammys, and just everything about her that she's in an amazing place. Miley is just so fulfilled in her life, and that everything's working out perfectly. That's all I'll say about Maxx!"
So while some fans may not approve of the Hannah Montana star's boyfriend, he's got her mom's seal of approval, and that's what matters.

The Sweet Way Gracie Abrams Supported Paul Mescal At The Cannes Film Festival

In June 2024, it was rumoured that Normal People star Paul Mescal and musician Gracie Abrams were seeing each another after they were spotted out on what looked like a date. By August, they seemed to 'confirm' their relationship with a public kiss. There might not be much more said about it, as Mescal stated in an interview with Vanity Fair that he plans to keep his romantic life 'private…moving forward' and that he wants to 'drown out' gossip. 'A lot of the time people are kind about their support for me,' he said. 'That's my predominant experience.' The conversation came following his split from Phoebe Bridgers in 2022 after two years together. Abrams's last known relationship with songwriter Blake Slatkin also ended in 2022, after about five years of dating. As of May 2025, Mescal and Abrams's relationship is going strong, with the singer attending the Cannes Film Festival to support her partner. Here, their history in full: Photos of Mescal on what appeared to be a date with Abrams were shared by TMZ in June. The images were taken during the day in London at BRAT restaurant, with eyewitnesses telling the publication that the pair ordered a bunch of small plates to share. In the images, they appear to be having an intense conversation. At one point, Mescal reached over to touch her face. He was wearing a white T-shirt, and Abrams had on a pale pink blouse. One month later, The Sun reported that the pair were seen shopping together on Bond Street in London. Abrams was reportedly spending a fair amount of time in the city, staying at the Chiltern Firehouse. In mid-August, they were seen in London again, sharing a kiss in Mayfair. The Daily Mail reported they were putting on a 'loved-up display,' according to an onlooker, and strolling through the park. Mescal wore a cap and sunglasses to cover his face, as well as shorts and a T-shirt. Abrams was in a white vest and black pants. Later, the two were seen at All Points East music festival in Victoria Park for musician Mitski's set. A source told People on August 18, 'They've been hooking up, and it's still early stages.' Mescal and Abrams were photographed holding hands once more in London on September 2. The couple each wore hints of black, Mescal in a Guns n' Roses T-shirt and Abrams in black crop top. Mescal supported Abrams during her Radio City Music Hall performance, attending her show on October 5. A source told People that the couple is 'going strong.' That same day, Mescal was photographed kissing Abrams's forehead and wrapping an arm around her while they were walking in New York City. Abrams kissed Mescal's hand in some shots and had an arm around him, too. When Abrams started opening for Swift's Eras Tour later in October, Mescal also attended her performance, too. He was seen at her October 20 performance. On October 21, the couple was photographed together in New York City. Abrams was in a dark long-sleeve top and pants, while Mescal wore a green T-shirt with olive pants. The actor brought Abrams to the premiere of his movie Gladiator II in Los Angeles, though they did not walk the red carpet together. They were spotted at the after-party in a TikTok shared by the film's official account. A source told People a few days later, 'Gracie and Paul are the real at the top of their game and always in communication.' The couple were together in New York in mid-December when Abrams performed during Saturday Night Live. In a clip shared on December 15, they can be seen exiting a car together while holding hands. Abrams spoke to Cosmopolitan about her love life. While she didn't speak about Mescal by name, she did speak about the experience of being in a healthy relationship. 'What I love about a healthy relationship is that your life doesn't radically change,' she shared. 'You just fit into each other in a way that feels positively challenging and deeply supportive—it's like a place to land.' She also spoke about how love feels like 'home' to her now. She explained, 'My current form of love feels like home no matter where I am. If you've ever felt unsafe in a relationship, it's really evident when you do feel safe in one. Women are fed so many voices when it comes to what love should be or feel like. But in my experience, love feels best when you're asking yourself: What do you want? What is hot for you? What is sexy to you? Where do you feel safest? There's literally nothing better than being with somebody where you're not putting on a performance.' Generally, she said that she will only date people who make her feel secure. 'The bar is very high in my relationships,' she told the outlet. 'It's not appealing to me to not feel settled and seen, so I don't date people who make me feel like that. I would rather be single for the rest of my life than feel uneasy in a relationship.' On February 13, they were seen sharing an on embrace in London just outside the Noel Coward Theatre, where Mescal was starring in A Streetcar Named Desire. The Daily Mail reports they then headed to grab dinner in Soho. A source told the publication, 'Paul came out of the stage door to say hello to about 100 fans and was signing autographs. Gracie was standing on the street watching on but stayed very much back, in the shadows, so she was not noticed. She kept a very low profile.' They added, 'Paul then walked back into the theatre and, after the fans cleared off, he reappeared. She was waiting for him and they went round the corner to hide. They were kissing and hugging before walking off arm-in-arm to dinner.' Abrams supported Mescal at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of The History of Sound by attending the red carpet event. The couple didn't pose together though, opting to keep the focus on Mescal's work. They did match in black though: ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Thousands gather for Pride parade in downtown Toronto

The streets of Toronto were filled with music, colour and rainbows as thousands of people took part in the annual Pride parade on Sunday. The parade kicked off at 2 p.m., with more than 25,000 marchers making their way from the Rosedale neighbourhood through the downtown core to Nathan Phillips Square. Toronto's event is Canada's largest Pride celebration in the country, attracting millions of visitors every year. Andrew Welch said he's been going to Pride Toronto for more than 25 years. "We've been going to Pride for many years now, and the sense of community and the celebration are still here, even with the things happening around the world, so I'm really happy to see things haven't changed," he told CBC News on Sunday. Pride Toronto says this year's ceremonies feature a 99 per cent Canadian lineup of performers and include a focus on the transgender and non-binary community. Anishnawbe Health Toronto led Sunday's parade with a colourful hand-painted float and group of dancers, drummers and DJs. Participant Cheryl Trudeau said the group was there "to show that we are open and accepting, that all of our members are part of our community." "And we want to represent the '2S' in the LGBTQ2S+," added Enya Pinesse, also walking with the group, referring to the Indigenous two-spirit identity. WATCH | Annual Pride parade kicks off in Toronto: Ismael Mendoza wore a Mexican-inspired costume to represent his Mexican roots at Sunday's parade. "As a Latino person, we come to live in this country because we feel safe, so showing what we are and what we do means a lot," he told CBC News. This year's Pride Toronto theme, "All In," is meant to celebrate the city and reflect the core values of Canadians, organizers say. Its executive director said the event sends an important message. "What it does is bring together the community and our allies to celebrate, but at the same time, to send a message that there are still many 2SLGBTQ+ members across the globe who are still fighting for their rights," Kojo Modeste said in an interview. WATCH | Cities across Canada celebrate last weekend of Pride 2025: According to data from Statistics Canada, police-reported hate crimes targeting sexual orientation, sex and gender increased each year from 2019 to 2023. Toronto police said on Thursday that the city has increased the police presence during Pride events, especially in the Church-Wellesley village area. Pro-Palestinian protesters showed up at Sunday's parade for the second year in a row. The group called for the boycott of "corporate Pride," which they claim are companies that benefit from the Israel-Hamas war. Earlier this year, Modeste revealed that Pride organizers were facing a $900,000 funding gap leading up to June's celebrations. The loss of cash was blamed on rising costs and the departure of some corporate sponsors, including Google, Nissan, Home Depot, and Clorox. WATCH | Pride Toronto short $900K ahead of festival: Modeste attributed the pullback to backlash against diversity, equity and inclusion efforts that materialized in the U.S. and beyond under President Donald Trump. Modeste told CBC News that the organization has not been able to make up the full amount that was lost from the sponsorships. However, Modeste assured event-goers they will not be able to see a difference in the quality of Sunday's parade. "They will not see the difference in the quality of the program, in the quality of the parade. We have done everything within our power to make sure the parade, the significance, the size, everything remains the same. The cuts that we had to make will not be shown today," Modeste told CBC News ahead of the event. There are still a number of road closures taking place across the city on Sunday. Parts of Church Street, Bloor Street West, Yonge Street, and Dundas Street West will be closed from the morning until 8 p.m. for the Pride parade. Other street closures will vary based on the day and time. For more information on those, visit the Toronto police website.
