Paul Pogba joins Monaco on two-year deal
Pogba had been handed a four-year doping ban – following an initial suspension – in March 2024, but was able to resume playing in March this year after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his punishment to 18 months last October.

He started his senior career at Manchester United before joining Juventus for a first spell in 2012, where he won four successive Serie A trophies along with two Italian Cups and two Italian Supercups.
A move back to United followed in 2016 and he spent six seasons with the club, winning the Europa League and League Cup, making 233 appearances during his time at Old Trafford.
The France international has been capped 91 times by his country and won the World Cup in 2018, where he scored in his team's 4-2 win over Croatia.

Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022 on a four-year deal but was sanctioned in March last year having been provisionally suspended since September 2023 after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).
However, Pogba lodged an appeal and was successful in getting his suspension reduced.
Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season, behind champions Paris St Germain and Marseille and Pogba joins the club on a deal running until June 30, 2027.

Head coach Amorim is looking to freshen up in a number of areas as he aims to build a squad capable of playing to his tactical preferences. Bryan Mbeumo is a major attacking target, while further investment could hinge on an ability to offload some out-of-favour high earners. Rashford's ex-colleague shares advice Timothy Fosu-Mensah broke into Manchester United's first team at the same time as Marcus Rashford, and believes the forward needs to ensure he can find a club where he feels good. The Dutch defender made his Premier League bow on the same day as Rashford, and was speaking as he continues his own search for a new club after leaving Bayer Leverkusen in 2024. The latter are managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, and can offer Champions League football, but those might not end up being deciding factors. Mbeumo has a year left on his current deal in West London, and Brentford hold an option to extend it until 2027. He is due back in pre-season training if no agreement can be reached before then, but exit talk persists. Although he will be given an extra week off before he is expected to return to pre-season training, it is now anticipated that Gyokeres won't show up. Although Varandas acknowledged that Gyokeres is likely to depart, he stated that the fee will be much higher than the potential price of £60million plus £10million in add-ons. He also claimed that Gyokeres is worth more than Matheus Cunha, who joined Manchester United from Wolves for £62.5million. Varandas said: 'Today, there is a strong likelihood that he will leave. I won't disclose the amount, but the player knows what it is. I can say that Viktor will not leave for 60+10m. He won't leave, absolutely not. 'We have been watching the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leave for €65million. I saw Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both forwards but who, in my opinion, do not have Viktor's market value or quality, being negotiated for around €75million. 'Given the demands we consider fair, I believe Viktor could leave – unless he has the worst agent in the world, which is hard for me to believe, because he is one of the best footballers in the world.' Gyokeres, whose current contract at Sporting runs until 2028, scored 54 goals in 52 club games last season. Still just 27 years old, Abraham has been in Italy since moving to Roma from Chelsea in 2021. However, he moved to AC Milan on loan last season, where he scored 10 goals in 44 games across all competitions. His first season with Roma was a huge success as he scored 27 goals, but things have tailed off for him since then, not helped by a serious injury. The 11-cap England international is now off to Turkey, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that an agreement has been hashed out between the clubs and the player is ready to make the move.
