Havent talked to Sarah Michelle Gellar since 1997: Jennifer Love Hewitt

News185 days ago
Los Angeles, Jul 21 (PTI) Hollywood actor Jennifer Love Hewitt says she hasn't spoken to her 'I Know What You Did Last Summer" co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar for the last 28 years.
Hewitt and Gellar featured in Jim Gillespie's directorial, which was released in 1997. The film also starred Freddie Prinze Jr and Ryan Phillippe.
Despite avoiding any communication, Hewitt confirmed both have been on good terms and didn't have a fight, as some rumours claimed.
'I honestly don't even know what that was or how that all came to be. I just think people don't want the narrative to be easy. Why do we always have to be against each other and out for each other," she told entertainment news outlet Vulture in an interview.
The 46-year-old actor, also known for her work in projects such as 'Can't Hardly Wait" and 'Ghost Whisperer", added, 'I haven't seen Sarah. Literally, we've not talked since I saw her at 18 years old when the first movie came out. That's why it's so funny to me. People were like, 'Say something back' And I'm like, 'What am I going to say? I've not seen her.' On my side, we're good. I have no idea where this is coming from." Both actors, however, returned for the film's reboot, which was released on July 18. The film has been directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and also stars Madelyn Cline, Lola Tung and Chase Sui Wonders, among others. Sam Lansky wrote the screenplay for it. PTI ATR ATR

Chuck Mangione, Grammy-Winning Musician, Passes Away At 84

Grammy-winning musician Chuck Mangione, known for 'Feels So Good' and his role on King of the Hill, passed away at 84 in Rochester, NY. Chuck Mangione, the celebrated jazz musician and composer whose smooth sound became a signature of 1970s and '80s instrumental music, has passed away at the age of 84. Mangione died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Rochester on Tuesday, confirmed his attorney Peter S. Matorin of Beldock Levine & Hoffman LLP. The two-time Grammy winner had retired from music in 2015. A gifted flugelhorn and trumpet player, Mangione rose to worldwide fame with his 1977 single Feels So Good, a breezy, jazz-infused melody that became a crossover sensation. The track climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the adult contemporary chart. It remains a staple of smooth jazz radio stations to this day. 'It identified for a lot of people a song with an artist, even though I had a pretty strong base audience that kept us out there touring as often as we wanted to, that song just topped out there and took it to a whole other level," Mangione said in a 2008 interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Mangione's influence extended beyond the charts. His composition Give It All You Got was commissioned for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, where he also performed the piece during the closing ceremony. He recorded over 30 albums, earning widespread acclaim for his original writing and performance style. His 1977 album Bellavia, named after his mother, earned him his first Grammy Award. He received another Grammy and a Golden Globe nomination for the score of The Children of Sanchez, while Friends and Love also earned Grammy recognition. Mangione later introduced himself to a younger audience through voice work on the animated series King of the Hill, where he played a fictional version of himself, appearing as the spokesperson for Mega Lo Mart, often joking, 'shopping feels so good." He began his career in bebop jazz, heavily influenced by Dizzy Gillespie, and performed with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers after graduating from Eastman School of Music. He later returned to Eastman to lead its jazz ensemble. In 2009, Mangione donated his trademark brown felt hat and memorabilia, including the score for Feels So Good, to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. May his soul rest in peace! Salman Khan Covers His Face As Paps Click Him In Mumbai, Fans React

Last Updated: Salman Khan was spotted in Mumbai on Friday, but he was seen hiding his face from the paparazzi. He pulled down the sun visor and used his hand to cover his face. Salman Khan was recently spotted in Mumbai, but unlike his usual interactions with the paparazzi, the actor chose to cover his face this time. The incident took place on Friday and quickly made its way to social media. Many started speculating that Salman may be hiding his look for his upcoming film titled Battle of Galwan. In the video, Salman is seen lowering his car's sun visor and later using his hand to avoid being photographed. Take a look below: Salman Khan was also spotted in Mumbai earlier this week in a transformed look. The actor, who has been teasing snippets of his transformation on Instagram from his intense gym sessions, was finally seen live in his full look for the much-awaited patriotic drama Battle of Galwan. Wearing a black t-shirt, Salman Khan was seen driving his SUV as he left a venue in Mumbai. What stood out right away was his short buzz cut and thick moustache, which seemed to match the look of a military officer. His serious expression and noticeably stronger build added to the tough look. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Manav Manglani (@ Salman will soon be seen playing an Army officer in Battle of Galwan, which is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The actor has already begun preparing for the film, which is expected to involve intense action sequences and physically demanding scenes. Speaking to PTI recently about the preparation for the film, Salman had said, 'It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day, every hour, it gets more and more difficult. But, you have to give it a lot more time now. Pehle ek do hafte mein ho jata tha, abhi thoda sa zyada time lagta hai. But, I have been working out, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. Iss film mein woh sab karne ki zaroorat hai." He also shared details about the challenging shoot locations. 'Shooting in Ladakh, high altitude, aisa na ho ke action karte karte behosh ho jao. So, for that, training is very important. Sign karte waqt aisa laga 'it is amazing', but it is a very difficult film to do because from 20 days in Ladakh, 7-8 days will be in the water, thanda thanda paani (smiles)," he added. Salman has confirmed that filming begins this month. The film also stars Chitrangada Singh, and it will be the first time the two actors share screen space. Journalists Enact Squid Game Scene To Highlight Bengaluru's Hazardous Footpaths

Last Updated: The individuals were seen running on a damaged footpath while wearing costumes like those worn by the contestants participating in Squid Game. Bengaluru's potholes and traffic woes have frequently made headlines. For the residents, the situation seems to remain the same despite repeated complaints. In a bid to highlight the hazardous potholes in the city, some Bengaluru residents and journalists staged a unique protest, inspired by Netflix's popular South Korean series, Squid Game. In a video circulating on X, the individuals were seen running on a damaged footpath while wearing costumes like those worn by the contestants participating in Squid Game. The show revolved around a group of cash-strapped people competing in a series of challenges inspired by children's games, which soon got dangerous. The clip was shot near St John's Hospital with the aim to highlight the hazardous conditions pedestrians face in one of the city's busiest areas. In the video, one of the residents slips and almost falls into a pothole. The caption read, 'It's Skid game for Namma Bengaluru Journalists." One account wrote, 'Bangalore is the worst city to live in. We need a lot of work to be done to make it world class." A comment read, 'Bravo Bengaluru's footpaths are a mess and the roads are full of potholes — the situation is terrible. Respect to all the volunteers who took this different approach to highlight the issues to BBMP. Hopefully, BBMP takes action and fixes them now." In a similar incident earlier, residents in the Jayanagar area of Bengaluru expressed their disappointment in a unique way. To protest against the hazardous road conditions, they performed puja to a particularly troublesome pothole on Varamahalakshmi Vratham day. In the video, a woman and a man are seen performing a ritual at the edge of a large, water-filled pothole. It shows that they are offering flower petals, turmeric powder and kumkum to the pothole. view comments First Published: July 26, 2025, 07:00 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
