Revealed: Meet the new MAFS Australia cast as filming for season 13 begins, from a reality star to influencer

Cosmopolitan4 days ago
We've only just said goodbye to the chaotic and beloved cast of the last season of Married at First Sight Australia, but already filming has begun on season 13, with a number of the cast being revealed.
Over the past few weeks the first weddings for the new series have been taking place throughout Australia, with a number of nuptials being photographed and therefore revealing the new cast members taking the plunge to marry someone at first sight.
So far we've seen about eight of the new cast members and they include some recognisable Aussie faces including a TV presenter, a reality star and an influencer. Ready to meet them? Here's everything to know about the cast of Married at First Sight Australia season 13.
Bec, or Bec Zac as she is reportedly known to her friends as, was the first bride of the series to be announced and was photographed heading to her wedding last week. Bec is a real estate agent from Adelaide and her wedding took place in Sydney, however right now we don't know who her groom is.
Another Rebecca! This time it's Rebecca Zukowski, who is a leasing manager from Melbourne. Her wedding to groom Steve Powell took place in Sydney's Centennial Park last week.
Ahead of the show starting it's already been reported Rebecca is set to be this season's wild card, with the Daily Mail claiming: "She's wild – think Jamie [Marinos] – just with years of experience. She was overheard yelling on her balcony in between takes – it was a whole moment."
Another insider told the publication Rebecca has "got this larger-than-life energy and doesn't tone herself down for anyone."
Marrying Rebecca is Steve Powell, however, not much is known about him apart from his marriage right now.
Gia is a micro-influencer from Melbourne with just over 30,000 followers on her now private Instagram account. A source told the Daily Mail Australia, Gia "doesn't give a single f*** what anyone thinks" and is "bold, she's brash and she says whatever's on her mind - which makes for absolutely iconic TV."
She's getting married to reality star Scott McCristal who has previously appeared on a number of Aussie TV shows before.
Pictures have surfaced of their pair's wedding taking place on a beach, with Gia showcasing her wedding garter on her leg in a number of pictures.
Scott is a reality TV star in Australia, and has previously appeared on shows such as Blind Date, Holey Moley, and Million Dollar Island.
He's previously spoken about his love of reality TV, telling The Courier Mail in 2018: "Tradie work is not for me. I want fame. My dream goal is to do TV and movies."
When he's not doing reality TV, Scott keeps his 25,000 Instagram followers entertained and runs three businesses - a jet ski company, an asset finance business and sells cars too.
Daniel is next on the list of next year's MAFS Australia cast. Daniel is a Melbourne based real estate agent, whose friends have described him as "fun, confident, and the life of the party."
We're not quite sure who he is set to marry yet, but one thing we do know is in his career as an estate agent he's reportedly made $9.6 million in sales in the last year. Pretty impressive.
Daniel is reportedly from Britain originally and was spotted outside his wedding ceremony.
Ankita is a sports presenter, with a main specialist area of cricket and over the years has worked for Mumbai Indians and most recently Cricket Australia. She is also Miss India Australia Runner up and has nearly 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Her wedding took place just days ago in Sydney to groom Micah Lomu, in which she looked stunning wearing a traditional Indian sequin lehenga.
Not much is known about Micah apart from that he got married to Ankita and he is reportedly a finance broker.
Married at First Sight Australia is available to catchup on on Channel 4

Famous brown bear Chunk has broken jaw, but he's still eating, ‘chasing ladies'

When the famous brown bear named Chunk appeared on the web cam in late June, post-hibernation, his jaw was broken and there was concern that he'd have trouble eating salmon on Alaska's Brooks River. 'Whoever Chunk rumbled with sure got him good!' Travel Guide Book exclaimed June 22 via Facebook. 'He appears to be slowly healing, getting around and he tried to eat some grass so that is a good sign.' Chunk is among the more popular bears in Alaska's Katmai National Park & Preserve, in large part because of his size and dominance at Brooks Falls, where his antics are often captured by the live cam. He's also a regular in the Fat Bear Week competition, a fan-driven event held each fall. It's unclear how Chunk suffered a broken jaw but the injury might have occurred during a quarrel with another bear, or perhaps a moose. in partnership with the National Park Service, maintains a series of live cams on the Brooks River. Explore posted the accompanying Instagram clip Friday, with the description: "Chunk the Hunk – broken jaw and all.' While his jaw remains askew, Chunk certainly appears to be gaining weight. 'Is he OK? Will he heal?' one follower wondered. Another replied, 'He's already healing, eating well and gaining weight and chasing the ladies.' ALSO: Idaho hunter convicted of poaching famously elusive trophy-size elk Katmai's brown bears feast on salmon during the summer and fall, desperate to put on enough weight to sustain them through the winter. The live cameras enable viewers to witness the bears' transformation from reasonably skinny bears (relatively speaking) to rotund behemoths that are almost literally dragging their bellies. The cameras also showcase the bears' interactions with one another. Chunk has not won the Fat Bear Week competition, but finished second last year to a female bear named Grazer, who also won in 2023. Sadly, one of Grazer's cubs was killed by Chunk last summer after being swept over the falls. Some Katmai fans have wondered whether it could have been Grazer who broke Chunk's jaw.

YouTube is testing Instagram-style collabs

YouTube has started testing a new collaboration feature, similar to Instagram's and TikTok's. A Google employee explained on YouTube Help that it will allow creators to add collaborators to a video so that they can be recommended to each other's audiences. The test is only available to a small group of creators for now, but it sounds like YouTube has plans to expand its availability in the future. Lindsey Gamble, an influencer marketing consultant and advisor, has posted a screenshot showing how the experimental feature works on Threads. As you can see in the image Gamble posted, adding collaborators would show their names next to the creators on their channel. If there are too many, at least on mobile, the collaborators would show as "...and more" next to the creator's name. Tapping on it would bring up the list of people involved in the project, with the Subscribe button next to their name. On Instagram and TikTok, the creator who uploads the content will have to invite another account as a collaborator, who'll then have to approve the invitation. That'll most likely be the case here, as well, in order to ensure that creators don't randomly add other users to their videos. It's not clear, however, whether the collaborators can see details typically reserved for the uploader's eyes. As with any experimental YouTube and Google product, the company will be taking the testers' feedback into account before deciding if it'll give the feature a wide release. fff

Sixers legend Charles Barkley golfs with Knicks star Jalen Brunson

It's deep into the offseason in the NBA so now is the time for random players and legend to link up and participate in a random activity. New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson and Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley fell into that category on the golf course. Barkley, who is considered one of the best players in the history of the league, is famous for his unorthodox golf swing. He was on the golf course posing with Brunson, his father Rick Brunson, and legendary Villanova coach Jay Wright via the younger Brunson's Instagram account. The legendary Sixers forward certainly like he avoided any lowlights when considering there was no other video clip on Twitter. Brunson and the Knicks have to be considered the favorites in the Eastern Conference in the 2025-26 season. They are currently the healthiest team and have their core intact from a conference finals run the previous season. The Sixers will look for their own clean bill of health to take down the Knicks in the coming season.
