ITV Loose Women star opens up on health woes in candid confession
A Loose Women star has opened up about the need to slow down this year after experiencing severe burnout due to her hectic lifestyle. Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes, 55, candidly opened up on her health woes.
The 55-year-old, celebrated for her achievements in middle distance running, confessed that an action-packed previous year had left her too exhausted to continue. The familiar face on Loose Women still powers on to maintain a fit lifestyle.
"I was travelling all over the world, often doing five or six speaking engagements a week, I had my big 20-year medal celebrations and visiting Machu Picchu for charity. But burnout is a big issue for me, by January I could feel something wasn't right health wise," she disclosed to the Mirror.
Often seen on the Loose Women panel as part of the ITV lunchtime chat show, Kelly remarked: "I took it as a sign that, while last year was amazing, I overdid it, and I couldn't do the same this year."
She admitted: "I can't jump out of bed every day full of energy, and not every day is motivating. If I'm not feeling up to it, I don't need to run the half-marathon, for example, I'd rather be there in full spirit and energising everybody else."
Kelly shared how embracing a more leisurely lifestyle has been beneficial, saying: "I've been able to look at every part of how I deal with things now, and that's a real strength. Over the last four or five months, I think I've spent more time at home than I have in years. I love being out in the garden – and with my alpacas!"
Yet, with Kelly still striving for 12,500 steps daily, participating in parkruns, and maintaining a healthy diet, it's evident that she remains significantly active.
She explained: "I try to move every day, and that might be walking to a job rather than getting an Uber, because I'll get my steps in and I can people watch! I use it as a wellbeing tool to make me feel good about myself. On a weekend, we might go paddleboarding or on a dog walk or meet up with friends."
Kelly has also become the official ambassador for vitamin brand Solgar's wellness partnership with The AJ Bell Great Run series this summer.
She shared her enthusiasm for promoting health and fitness, saying: "I'm a huge fan of inspiring and motivating people to keep fit and moving in their lives – especially as we get older. Fitness has always been part of my life, but I'm at a point where I really understand the need for us to look at our overall wellbeing.
"So I've been going to the runs and it's just been the best. I've seen people of all ages getting their moment when they cross the finish line."
She also reflected on her involvement with the running events. Kelly observed a positive trend among young participants, adding: "Also, I've seen a huge amount of young women, in their mid-to-late twenties, taking part – more than I'd normally see. It was so positive to see that generation into their fitness and not being embarrassed or worried about the old vision of what women "should" look like. It's changed, athletic, strong bodies are seen as beautiful now."

Hollyoaks tour cancelled ahead of huge anniversary over 'low ticket sales'
The upcoming Hollyoaks Live tour has been dropped by its promoters, who are said to have 'over-estimated' the appeal for the production, which is external to the TV show A huge tour for a major TV show has been dramatically axed due to low ticket sales. Hollyoaks Live, which is an external production from the Channel 4 soap opera, was expected to hit the road, giving fans an insight into the popular programme but bosses have been forced to pull the plug. But while a string of famous faces from the show had signed on the dotted line to meet with fans, the production, which was due to take place in October, will no longer be going ahead. Soap stars including Nick Pickard, Kieron Richardson, Jorgie Porter, Gary Lucy, and Ashley Taylor Dawson were set to meet fans who had splashed out a whopping £161 for meet and greet tickets, allowing them to ask burning questions about their favourite TV show. It comes after reports Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue. However, sources have claimed that bosses behind the production had "overestimated" the appeal for the show, which was due to take place in Manchester, Glasgow and London, had been left with no option but to cancel the entire tour. "The promoter massively over-estimated the appeal a live stage show would have to Hollyoaks' core audience," a source said. They went on to tell The Sun: "The ticket prices were incredibly high for a show that's popular with teenagers. "The decision was made to pull the tour rather than have a loss-making venture with empty theatres." But those who purchased tickets for the events will be offered refunds at their points of purchase. It's understood that the tour was organised by an external production team, with Hollyoaks and Channel 4 having very limited involvement in the planning. A spokesperson for the tour said in a statement: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned theatre events with Maple Tree Entertainment featuring Hollyoaks cast are not going to take place as planned. "We are sad to disappoint those who had purchased tickets but they will be refunded via the venues." However, it's a stark contrast for ITV soap, Coronation Street, which is going ahead with a live theatre tour. Long standing cast members from the Manhcester based soap opera will appear at theatres across the nation to discuss their time on the show, in a production which has been billed An Audience with Coronation Street. Fans will pay more than £30 with the promoters promising "behind-the-scenes secrets, share hilarious stories, and relive heart-warming moments from the iconic ITV show". Hosted by This Morning's resident soap expert, Sharon Marshall, the show promises to be filled with laughter, nostalgia, and "more than a few jaw-dropping surprises!" Each event will feature five Coronation Street stars live on stage, including a surprise Corrie legend. The line-up will vary at each venue, with fan-favourite cast members including Andrew Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Jack P Shepherd (David Platt), Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor), and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), with more names to be announced soon. Additionally, former show legends will also appear on stage. The tour will start in September and includes dates in London, Sheffield, Manchester and Glasgow. Promoters say in the first half, the audience will be treated to an intimate and lively interview session with some of Corrie's most beloved cast members. Ever wondered what goes on between takes? Curious about those off-screen friendships and real-life dramas? This is your chance to hear all the gossip straight from the source. The second act will feature a Corrie legend who will appear on stage and talk about their time on the ITV show.

Liam Neeson 'madly in love' with Pamela Anderson as couple spark romance rumours
The pair star together in the new Naked Gun film. The tight connection between Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson has sparked global speculation as the duo remain tight-lipped about whether romance is blossoming between them. However, it appears the signs were there as early as last year when the Taken actor openly proclaimed his affection for the former Baywatch beauty. Speaking to People magazine, Liam, 73, openly admitted to being "madly in love" with the mother of two, reports the Mirror. During the chat, he revealed: "With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her." He continued: "She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film." Responding to his praise, Pamela, who became a pin-up sensation during her iconic run on the nineties hit Baywatch, described him as "the perfect gentleman". She continued: "He brings out the best in respect, kindness, and depth of experience. It was an absolute honour to work with him." Whilst the pair have been cautious to focus solely on their professional partnership, Pamela accidentally revealed their connection extended beyond the workplace when she mentioned preparing meals for him. In May, she disclosed: "I also baked my sourdough bread for therapy and regularly shared with him [Liam], along with cookies and muffins." She revealed that she would leave her homemade treats in his dressing room. The pair also socialised beyond the film set. She went on: "We had many dinners out with the cast. I invited him and his assistant over for romantic dinners with me and my assistant so our relationship stayed 'professionally romantic' during filming." Their undeniable connection was evident when they attended The Naked Gun premiere in both London and Berlin. At the London premiere, Pamela sparked romance rumours when she gave Liam a kiss on the cheek. However, it was during their Berlin promotional tour that really got people talking when they recreated the famous Titanic scene. On social media, Pamela and Liam's tight friendship was obvious as they larked about on a boat. In the clip shared with followers, Pamela channelled Rose, portrayed by Kate Winslet, whilst Liam supported her waist in the style of Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Pamela looked stunning in a green dress paired with a coordinating neck scarf. She wrote alongside the footage: "From the London to Berlin... this tour has been full of smiles, laughter, and so much love... Thank you to everyone who came out to giggle with us (and watch on the big screen). NYC next!"

He added: "I went, 'I'll think about it' and then I walked out and I did a couple of backflips on the way out! I played it right down, I didn't want to look desperate and I was desperate."
