Inter Milan President Claims Leoni Transfer Links Are A ‘Media Exaggeration'
The Nerazzurri President addressed the rumours in the team's preseason press conference, as reported by FCInterNews.
For the last several weeks, Inter have been heavily linked with Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
Reportedly, the 19-year-old is the player the Nerazzurri see as ideal for the long-term future of their defense.
Furthermore, the fact that Leoni had worked with coach Cristian Chivu last season has further bumped him up Inter's list of targets.
However, the price tag for Leoni would be quite high. Reportedly, Parma are holding out for as much as €40 million to sell the teenage defender.

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta addressed the transfer links to Giovanni Leoni.
'First of all, I think it's fair to point out that Chivu has recognized the value of both Pio Esposito and Leoni,' he said.
'But Leoni is a Parma player,' he continued. 'And we haven't started any negotiations for him.'
'He would be a player a lot of clubs would like to have. But right now, we have other priorities.'
'We'll see,' Marotta hinted. 'On the one hand, we recognize the quality of Leoni. But on the other hand, let's also remember that Pio Esposito comes from Inter's academy.'
'We hope that we can find Inter's own Leoni here,' the Nerazzurri President said.
'I'm not saying he's not a good player,' Marotta made clear. 'But maybe in recent months there's been a bit of a media exaggeration.'
'Parma had a good intuition last summer. And now they have a great asset on their hands.'

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur signs new multi-year contract
Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari boss, Fred Vasseur, has signed a new multi-year deal with the Italian Formula One team. Vasseur's position has been under scrutiny this season with Ferrari yet to land a single win outside of Hamilton's sprint victory in China in March. Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has even been linked with the job since he was ousted earlier this month. However, in a statement released ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix – the concluding round before the summer break – Ferrari said in a statement: 'Scuderia Ferrari HP is pleased to announce that it has extended, with a multiple-year contract, its agreement with Fred Vasseur, who will continue as team principal for the coming Formula One seasons. 'Fred joined the Scuderia at the beginning of 2023, bringing with him extensive motorsport experience and a proven ability to develop talent and build competitive teams across all levels of racing. Since then, he has laid a solid foundation with the ambition of returning Ferrari to the top of Formula One. 'Renewing Fred's contract reflects Ferrari's determination to build on the foundations laid so far. His ability to lead under pressure, embrace innovation, and pursue performance aligns fully with Ferrari's values and long-term ambitions. 'Under Fred's leadership, Scuderia Ferrari HP is united, focused, and committed to continuous improvement. The trust placed in him reflects the team's confidence in its strategic direction and reinforces a shared determination to deliver the results that Ferrari's fans, drivers, and team members expect and deserve.' Since his transfer from Mercedes, Hamilton has not landed a grand prix podium in Ferrari colours – a streak of 13 races – the deepest into the season he has ever gone without a top-three finish. He is sixth in the standings, 157 points off the championship pace and 30 points behind team-mate Charles Leclerc. Ferrari are second in the constructors' standings. Hamilton said at last week's round in Belgium that he had staged meetings with all of Ferrari's key figures – including chairman John Elkann, CEO Benedetto Vigna and Vasseur – and submitted two documents outlining his vision as to why the Italian giants are not up to speed. Ferrari's last world drivers' title came in 2007, with their most recent constructors' crown the following year. 'Today we want to recognise what has been built and commit to what still needs to be achieved,' said Vigna. 'It reflects our trust in Fred's leadership — a trust rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations and clear responsibility. 'We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance Ferrari has to aim for.' Frenchman Vassuer continued: 'I'm grateful for the trust Ferrari continues to place in me. This renewal is not just a confirmation — it's a challenge to keep progressing, to stay focused, and to deliver. 'Over the past 30 months, we've laid strong foundations, and now we must build on them with consistency and determination. We know what's expected, and we're all fully committed to meeting those expectations and taking the next step forward together.'

Liverpool move closer to midfielder deal with contract ALREADY agreed
Liverpool are in the middle of conducting somewhat of a summer clearout. Having spent around £260m on new arrivals, sporting director Richard Hughes is now busy finding buyers for the Reds' available players. We've seen Luis Diaz leave the club after three-and-a-half years - joining Bayern Munich for around £65m. He joins Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips as Liverpool departures this summer - but the selling won't end there. Harvey Elliott, Stefan Bajcetic, Federico Chiesa and Ben Doak are among those players being considered for sale - while Tyler Morton could also bring in some very useful income. Morton attracting transfer interest The 22-year-old admitted following the Reds' preseason defeat to AC Milan that he would be looking for more minutes in the season upcoming. But with Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo ahead of him in the Anfield pecking order it is going to be difficult. England under-21 international Morton has reportedly caught the eye of Ajax and West Ham - and now a new suitor has come forward for the homegrown midfielder. Lyon agree contract with Morton According to L'Equipe in France, Lyon have ALREADY agreed terms with Morton over the terms of a contract. We can take it as an indication that Morton would be willing to move to the Ligue 1 team - who narrowly avoided relegation due to their financial problems. However, those same financial limitations could yet scupper Morton's move to the French league. Because the same report claims that Lyon are reluctant to meet Liverpool's asking price - said to be €9m excluding bonuses. © IMAGO

Napoli now accelerating move for Juanlu Sanchez
Serie A champions Napoli are now accelerating their move for Sevilla defender Juanlu Sanchez. La Gazzetta dello Sport report today that with doubts emerging about Pasquale Mazzocchi's future in Naples, Giovanni Manna is ready to move for a right-back. They do not want to delay a move for the Spaniard anymore as we are approaching August. So far, Napoli's offer has been at €17 million including bonuses. Sevilla demand €20 million butt the Partenopei will now operate with renewed efforts. The 21-year-old is keen on the move and Manna held detailed discussions with Sevilla some weeks ago before slowing down. The club believe that Giovanni di Lorenzo cannot play every game anymore and would need a player at right-back who can rotate regularly and Sanchez is a good fit for Antonio Conte's system. Napoli have stalled the move earlier as they wanted to focus on other targets. Now, the time is ripe. Kaustubh Pandey I GIFN
