Avocados have become one of the most popular foods to have in any meal - but now there's a new way to eat them, and it's down to how you preserve them in your kitchen
Avocado's have become a trendy staple food for many - but now there's an even nicer way to enjoy them.
The popular and versatile food offers many health benefits as it is packed with healthy fats, fibre, vitamins, and minerals, making them a good addition to a balanced diet.

They also contain high amounts of folate, copper, potassium, Vitamin K and Vitamin E -while boasting anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds that have even been linked to reducing the risk of heart disease.

So, whether you're pairing them with some poached eggs, mashing them onto a slice of toast or simply slicing them into a salad, many people tend to just eat them raw. However some people turn to pickling them for an elevated taste. Avocado pickles are not only delicious, but can be used in any dish where you'd typically eat them such as a salad or sandwich.
According to Healthline, they're seriously easy to make, too. All you need to do is place 240ml of white vinegar, 240ml of water and one tablespoon of salt into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
You then simply pour the mixture into a jar and add in three diced unripened avocados. Cover them with a lid and let them marinate for a few days in the mixture before eating.
The pickling solution can be flavored with different ingredients for an added taste, such as garlic, fresh herbs, mustard seeds, peppercorns, or chilies.
Avocados can go off pretty quick and no one wants to be left with a brown mushy mess. Any avocado fan will be all too familiar with the struggle of keeping them fresh. At room temperature, unripe avocados can take four to seven days to ripen, while ripe ones can last a few days. Luckily, there are ways to extend the life of your avocado and prevent food waste.

A TikToker known as @Creative_explained has recently shared a video showcasing clever grocery hacks for saving money and reducing waste. Among the various ingenious methods to preserve different groceries, they demonstrated how to keep avocados fresh for up to three weeks.
The technique is straightforward; all you need is a container and some water. "Fill an airtight container with water and add [the avocados] in," they explained.
In his latest viral clip, the TikToker displayed his nifty avocado preservation trick by submerging them in water within an airtight box and then tucking them away in the refrigerator.
