Corfu hotel regulars hit back at 'pathetic chavs' after Brit gran moans about 'no English food'
The Lido Corfu Sun Hotel has been inundated with negative reviews on TripAdvisor throughout May, including a relentless evaluation from Susan Edwards, who recently shared her 'nightmare' experience at the all-inclusive, four-star hotel.
Ms Edwards, 69, from Newcastle, paid £750 for the seven-night holiday to the Greek island, but blasted the hotel's dining options, insisting 'there was no food we could eat and we couldn't have anything to drink.'
On the first morning, she recalled being offered 'toast, a hard boiled egg or something in sauce. There was no bacon,' while the following day's breakfast was 'mozzarella and sliced tomatoes,' and 'no hot bacon or sausage.'
She added: 'There was fish, sardines and rice - I was sick to death of looking at rice. One night there was a Greek night and they had kebabs, I couldn't eat that. It's the worst holiday I've ever been on.'
In her TripAdvisor review, the grandmother vowed to 'never visit Greece again,' and urged English visitors to 'stay away' from the hotel unless they preferred to eat 'tomatoes and olives.'
The Lido Corfu Sun Hotel has dismissed Ms Edwards' claims as 'inaccurate' and 'exaggerated' - but a number of loyal guests have since clapped back at 'old crows' and 'entitled' holidaymakers who have left negative reviews concerning food.
On TripAdvisor, one guest wrote: 'Don't listen to pathetic chavvy Brits and Poles who bought the cheapest "All Inclusive" package in existence and demanded type of service only the most entitled and uncouth would.
'It's a fine, charming little place. Close to water, nice food and clean facilities. Thankfully, no British food!'
Another regular praised the hotel's 'clean' environment and 'fantastic' staff, along with the restaurant's 'authentic Greek' food.
Taking aim at what appeared to be Susan's review, they quipped: 'This is Greece not Newcastle upon Tyne.
'There was Scottish food and it was delicious, but oh those Greeks they know how to make Greek food, could you imagine, going to Greece and there was no Greek food, wow!
'Even when old crows complain "There's no beans on Warburtons toast" "It's not authentic English" the staff smile and go out of their way to do anything they can to help. It's a shame the compo hunters descended.'
One Scottish holidaymaker left a hilarious tongue-in-cheek review, writing: 'Excellent all inclusive food and drink package, they really go out their way to cater for Scottish visitors.
'We enjoyed draught Tennant's lager, Irn Bru was on tap (diet and full fat), square sausage on a roll at breakfast, scotch pies and bridies at lunchtime, and there was always a choice of haggis or mince 'n tatties at dinner.'
They added: 'Tunnock's tea cakes and shortbread were available all day, along with Scottish Blend tea. The Greek dishes are also immense, which is a bonus, as Corfu is in Greece.'
A number of loyal guests have since clapped back at 'old crows' and 'entitled' British holidaymakers who have left negative reviews concerning food
Along with the food, Ms Edwards complained of 'inattentive' staff, 'steep' outdoor surroundings, a 'lack of' entertainment and general issues with access.
The hotel said: 'Our buffet is rich and diverse every single day, offering fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, cold and hot dishes that meet a variety of European and Mediterranean tastes. The idea that we served "only rice and sardines" is false.
'From the very first day of her arrival, it was evident that the guest was looking for excuses. She even complained about the weather, among other irrelevant matters.

The countryside hotel with underground spa that's minutes from one of the best cities in the UK
DUNSTON Hall is the best place to relax and explore the city of Norwich, or even head to the Norfolk Coast. Read on to find out how to book yourself a room and spa treatment. 7 7 Where is Dunston Hall? The grand 4-star hotel sits just outside Norwich, Norfolk, perfect for those exploring the city but wanting the peace and quiet of the countryside. It's completely secluded on a huge estate of 150 acres of woodland. Norwich city centre is just 12 minutes away by car, or if you fancy a trip to the beach, you can get to the popular seaside resort of Great Yarmouth in 40 minutes. For any drivers, it has a free car park on-site. Without a car, you can reach the hotel by bus, which from the city centre takes around 14 minutes from the city centre, or hop in a cab. What is the hotel like? Dunston Hall is the most striking building, it looks like a set from a period drama. It was originally constructed as a manor house in the 1800s and still maintains its Victorian charm on the outside, but has been updated with modern amenities on the inside. It's surrounded by lush parkland and there's plenty of greenery everywhere you look, there's an incredibly long driveway on arrival, and a fountain outside the hotel. What is there to do there? On-site is an 18-hole golf course that's open to guests as well as those on a day trip, and the course is suitable for golfers at all skill levels. There's a spa too that's on the ground level, it has a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room as well as treatment rooms for massages and a manicure and pedicure suite. Or you can head into Norwich to take a wander around the city, explore the shops and see the famous cathedral. The pretty English coastal village with huge sandy beaches where you can spot seals and even your pets are welcome 7 7 What is there to eat and drink there? Breakfast is served between 7am and 11am on weekends, so it's perfect for early risers and those who want a lie in. The hotel offers hot and cold buffet options. The Brasserie restaurant's menu has plenty to offer from sticky pork starters to classic British mains. There are lots of desserts too from cheesecake to chocolate fondant and smaller temptations like truffles and affogato. For snacks and drinks, you can head to the Terrace or Bunkers Bar, the hotel also serves afternoon tea from £30pp. If it's a nice day, head out onto the patio area and choose from the lengthy wine and cocktail menu to enjoy in the sunshine. 7 What are the rooms like? The rooms are very spacious, with some furniture that matches the Victorian look, and other modern touches like a television, kettle and mini fridge. The beds are huge and comfy, and the bathroom was spotless. We slept in a room on the third floor and it was very quiet despite there being a wedding at the hotel. Some rooms have air conditioning and others don't so check beforehand and book according to what you need. The room rate starts at £109 per night. 7 Is Dunston Hall family-friendly? Families can choose from a classic room to deluxe and superior family options and it's easy to get into the city to spend a day together. Is there access for guests with disabilities? Yes, the Classic Accessible rooms are specially adapted rooms with wider doorways and alarm pulls, and there's lift access available throughout the hotel.

Hollywood star's nepo baby son reveals ripped torso and bulging biceps while on holiday with his stunning girlfriend
Louis Serkis showed off his ripped torso and bulging biceps while on holiday with his stunning girlfriend on Instagram on Thursday. The nepo baby is the son of Andy Serkis, who famously spent hours in a motion-capture suit to transform into Gollum for The Lord of the Rings. Now his film and TV star son is turning heads with an eye-catching transformation of his own. The 21-year-old scion of British acting royalty shared a series of shirtless holiday snaps, while revealing an impressively sculpted physique. In the photos, the rising star can be seen on a beach in Colombia, wearing nothing but black swim shorts and sunglasses. Louis is the youngest son of Andy and his wife, the actress Lorraine Ashbourne, who stars in Netflix hit Bridgerton. The 21-year-old scion of British acting royalty shared a series of holiday snaps with his girl, who the Daily Mail can reveal is British equestrian-turned-stuntwoman Amelia Haynes While his dad is famous for disappearing into digital characters like Caesar in Planet of the Apes, Louis is very much stepping into the spotlight as himself. Alongside his beach snaps, Louis also shared photos of his girlfriend, who the Daily Mail can reveal is British equestrian-turned-stuntwoman Amelia Haynes. The stunning blonde also shared a photo of them on Instagram as she stunned in a floral sundress as Louis planted a kiss on her head. Louis' first on-screen appearance was in 2012's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which featured his dad's return as Gollum. The role, credited as 'Cute Young Hobbit', marked the beginning of what has become a successful journey so far into the family business. In 2018, he appeared as the wolf cub Bhoot in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, directed by and co-starring his father. He then landed the lead role in the 2019 film, The Kid Who Would Be King, co-starring Sir Patrick Stewart and Rebecca Ferguson. He also starred alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in the hit Netflix series, The Queen's Gambit, and more recently, played the troubled teen son of Martin Clunes' character in ITV's Out There. Louis' sister Ruby, is also an actress, best known for The Letter for the King on Netflix, while his brother Sonny has dipped into acting too. 'I was never obliged to take part in what they do and they never forced it on me and said 'this is what your going to do',' Louis told The Mirror earlier this year. 'But I love it, I have always loved entertaining and bringing joy through that. 'I think if you get the opportunity to tell a story and to inspire people I think you should take it. 'I was young and in a way stumbled into acting, and tried it when I was around seven or eight.' The star is doing his parents proud, as his dad gushed in 2019 to Entertainment Tonight: 'I'm just extraordinarily proud. Seeing him go through all the work, the training, the buildup and then the filming. 'All my kids are just growing up. They're experiencing travelling and seeing the world... having their experiences broadened. It's great.'
