Police Scotland swarmed a residential street in the Lochend area in the east of Edinburgh on Saturday, June 28.
A heavy police presence could be seen on Lochend Avenue from around 8:20pm, with around five police vehicles in attendance.
The exact nature of the emergency incident is currently unknown.
An image of the incident shows five police vehicles parked on the street, one of which appears to be a K-9 vehicle. Two officers can be seen outside of a property opposite the vehicles.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.

A spokesman said: 'Restrictions apply to all aircraft, including drones. 'You must check if it is legal to fly in your area. 'It is a criminal offence to fly in restricted airspace.' The alarm was raised over concerns for the teen who had been on the water around 5.25pm yesterday as temperatures at the spot near Lochgelly hit 20°C. Coastguard rescue teams from three stations and a chopper have mounted a search operation, supported by police and firefighters. More than a million visitors use the park each year, with the 260-acre loch popular used for yachting and used as a training site for the University of St Andrews Boat Club. It is also the home of the Scottish Open Water Championships. Police say 'extensive searches' are being carried out and 'enquiries are ongoing'. Police have launched a search after a 15-year-old - who was last seen paddleboarding on Loch Ore, Lochgelly in Fife on Saturday afternoon - was reported missing A search continues for a teenage boy who went missing on Saturday while paddleboarding in a Scottish lake. Emergency services were called to Loch Ore, in Loch Ore Meadows, Lochgelly, at about 5.25pm. Police said they had received a "report of concern" for the boy, 15, who had been out paddleboarding. Dramatic images from the scene yesterday showed rescue teams arriving with a lifeboat and conducting searches across the loch's surface. A search for the missing teenager was launched, and a coastguard helicopter was deployed alongside coastguard rescue teams from St Andrews, Queensferry and Leven. "Extensive searches" involving the police and coastguard are continuing on Sunday, and people have been asked to avoid the area. Temporary air space restrictions are in place in the Lochore Meadows area until 9am on Monday. Police said restrictions apply to all aircraft, including drones, and that it is a criminal offence to fly in a restricted airspace. Police said general airspace restriction advice can be found at UK Civil Aviation Authority.
