Saudi Arabia Launches AI Startup Incubator to Boost Tech Economy

Saudi Arabia is ramping up its investment in artificial intelligence with the launch of a national incubator programme designed to accelerate the growth of early-stage AI startups.
Led by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) through its Centre of Digital Entrepreneurship, the four-month programme will support 20 AI ventures with mentorship, funding, workspace, and access to government-backed digital incentives. Financial support will come via the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), while strategic partnerships with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence, SambaNova, and BIM Ventures will help startups access technical and commercial expertise.
The initiative is a key part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to build a diversified, knowledge-driven economy and reduce long-term dependence on oil revenues. It also follows the recent launch of Humain, a PIF-backed AI company focused on building national capabilities in data infrastructure, machine learning, and cloud computing.
By targeting early-stage companies with tailored support, the new incubator aims to lay the foundation for a competitive AI ecosystem capable of positioning the Kingdom as a regional and global leader in emerging technologies.

ADFD and Kenya: Strategic Partnership that Supports Sustainable Development
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates –July 2025: Aligned with its support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) continues to support projects that enhance infrastructure, strengthen vital services, and improve quality of life for communities in partner countries. Among the Fund's most transformative contributions is the 136-kilometer Nuno–Modogashe Road Rehabilitation Project which was upgraded from an unpaved track to a fully developed roadway, linking Garissa County to surrounding areas. With a loan of AED 36.7 million, the project resulted in safer and more efficient transportation, bolstered regional commerce, and strengthened social cohesion between rural communities, improving the lives of approximately 200,000 locals in rural communities. The road also provided the opportunity for children -particularly girls – to have safe and easy access to schools and education services, as well as improved access to goods and services for families and small business owners. Additionally, ADFD's funding of the Kenya Rural Electrification Project, with a loan of AED 36.7 million, further highlights its role in advancing inclusive development. By expanding the national grid to reach thousands of homes and public facilities in remote regions, the project has enhanced living conditions, increased economic opportunities, and created a conducive environment for small businesses and agricultural enterprises. The development of power distribution stations and new transmission lines has also ensured reliable access to electricity for schools, clinics, and farms, benefiting over 20,000 people. These efforts are aligned with Kenya Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which supports the development of pillars including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and inclusive economic growth. ADFD remains committed to investing in impactful development projects across Africa and other emerging regions, with the aim of enhancing quality of life and empowering communities to build a more resilient and prosperous future.

Egypt's Prime Minister holds high-level meetings at UN Conference on Financing for Development
Representing Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a series of high-level diplomatic meetings on the sidelines of the 4th United Nations Conference on Financing for Development, held in Seville, Spain, reaffirming Egypt's commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the face of mounting global and regional pressures. In a pivotal discussion with Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Madbouly highlighted the substantial burden Egypt shoulders as a host country for a large population of migrants and refugees—despite ongoing economic challenges. 'We call upon the international community to extend greater support to Egypt, especially given the economic strains caused by regional conflicts and global crises,' Madbouly said. He praised the strong partnership between Egypt and the IOM and reiterated Egypt's commitment to regional stability and inclusive policies, offering migrants access to education, healthcare, and employment—efforts recognised by numerous international bodies. Pope commended Egypt's humanitarian leadership and expressed the IOM's readiness to deepen cooperation. She also applauded Egypt's efforts to promote legal and organised migration and expressed interest in enhancing collaboration, particularly in seasonal and skilled labour migration to Europe. Responding to her inquiries, Madbouly outlined Egypt's coordination with European countries to establish legal migration frameworks that reflect Egypt's skilled labour potential and the mutual interest in addressing labour market demands. Madbouly conveyed President Al-Sisi's greetings to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and emphasised the importance of elevating bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors. 'We must accelerate preparations for the next session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee,' he stated, calling for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and regional affairs. Larbaoui echoed the call for deeper ties and conveyed President Tebboune's regards to President Al-Sisi. He also commended Egypt's pivotal role in promoting regional stability and security.
