Kosinski originally planned to bring Pitt and Cruise together on the big screen in his own version of 'Ford v Ferrari.' The actors were going to do all of their own racing in the movie, but the studio would not approve Kosinski's desired budget. James Mangold ended up directing 'Ford v Ferrari' with Christian Bale and Matt Damon instead. Pitt told The National there was another reason their 'Ford v Ferrari' never took. 'Tom and I, for a while there, were on 'Ford v Ferrari' with Joe [to direct]. This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it – and made it a great movie,' Pitt said. 'What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realized that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn't come through. So I'm not sure how that's going to work [in a potential 'F1' sequel], but we'll give it a go. I'd love to.' For now, Pitt is just enjoying the success of 'F1,' saying: 'We were all a bit white-knuckled to see if it was going to come through. James Gunn Says Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman Will Unite in the DCU… Just Not Yet — GeekTyrant
DC Studios co-head James Gunn is planting the seeds for a future where Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman once again share the screen, but fans hoping for that moment right away might want to pump the brakes. While walking the red carpet at the London premiere of Superman , Gunn was asked if we'll see DC's iconic Trinity together in his rebooted universe. His answer? 'Of course, yeah! But, not in the next movie.' Yes, the holy trinity of superheroes is coming, just don't expect them to crash through the same wall until later down the road. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot prevoiusly stood side by side in Batman v Superman and Justice League . But Gunn's DCU is going to do a bit more world-building than Zack Snyder did before he brings these characters together. Gunn is currently developing a separate Batman reboot with The Brave and the Bold , directed by It 's Andy Muschietti, and a new Wonder Woman film is also in the works. No casting announcements yet for Bruce or Diana, but the foundation is clearly being laid. The Trinity is coming… Gunn's just making sure the timing is right.

Idris Elba says he has never watched ‘The Wire' and never will
Idris Elba has revealed that he's never watched 'The Wire' and he never will. The hunky actor and sought-after DJ confessed that he hasn't seen a single episode of the HBO hit that made him a household name, in which he played debonair yet dastardly drug dealer Stringer Bell. 'If I'm really honest, I didn't watch 'The Wire,'' he shared on this week's episode of the 'Good Hang with Amy Poehler' podcast. 'I didn't watch it. And I feel bad. It's not that I'm not a fan of it — I was there.' The London native made a career breakout on the David Simon-created drama, hailed as one of the best shows in television history. He appeared in the first three seasons of the series, which also propelled the careers of Michael K. Williams, Andre Royo, Dominic West, Sonja Sohn, Tristan 'Mack' Wilds, Wood Harris and Tony Award-winner Wendell Pierce. Despite understanding now 'the importance of the show,' Elba admits that he's never 'participate[d] in its celebration as a viewer, as a fan' so he feels 'a little bit outside of the club.' And while he does 'feel proud' of his time on 'The Wire,' the Golden Globe and SAG Award winner has no desire to ever watch his work. 'It [would be] weird for me to go back and watch it,' Elba told Poehler. 'I don't like being overly conscious about what my performance is like, because it makes me conscious about doing it. I like being in it rather than watching it.' Still, Elba acknowledges the lasting effect the show has had and continues to have on viewers, even 20 years later. 'At least once a day, someone says, 'Bro, Stringer Bell, The Wire,' … It really does, it surprises me how much impact that show had,' he said. 'In a good way, it surprises me continuously that, you know, multi-generationally, it's still being talked [about by] people that weren't even born then.'
