6-yr-old girl raped, murdered by uncle in Rajasthan's Dungarpur: Police
Aspur deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Hanuwant Singh Bhati, said, 'The incident happened in the district's Nithuwa police station. The victim's body was found near a pond following which police started an investigation that revealed that she was raped by her uncle before the murder. We have also detained the accused on Tuesday.'
According to officials, the minor girl went to a nearby place to study on Monday morning from where she went missing.
'She was later found dead near a pond a few hours later by her parents. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where it was revealed that she was also raped before the murder,' said Bhati.

Following the development, a forensics team was called to examine the spot while the police force from Nithuwa, Aspur, Sagwara, and Dungarpur police stations were deployed in the area.
'Prima facie, her uncle, under the influence of alcohol, abducted her when she was returning home after her study cycle was over. He took her near the pond, raped her, and then killed her by hitting a stone at her head. He was absconding since thens,' said Bhati.
On Tuesday morning, Nithuwa police detained him from a nearby village and he is now being questioned, said the officer.
A case was also filed under section 63 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and necessary sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against him.

Udupi: In separate complaints filed by victims, they alleged that fraudsters contacted them, gained their trust with false promises of job opportunities, and tricked them into transferring large sums of money. A woman reportedly fell prey to an online job scam and lost Rs 7.6 lakh. In a complaint, Renuka stated that the incident took place when she was watching a video related to job opportunities on Instagram on July 18 and was prompted to enquire further. She sent a message saying "Hai" via WhatsApp, after which she received a link from that number. Upon opening the link, she was directed to contact a Telegram username, and was instructed to enter a salary code and reach out for further communication. As instructed, the complainant shared her name, address, and bank details. Following this, the accused gave her several tasks. Initially, they took money from her and returned small amounts as part of the task completion to gain her trust. Gradually, they made her complete more tasks and tricked her into transferring a total of Rs 7.6 lakh. Bengaluru: Part-time driver Gurumurthy, 25, planned the abduction of 13-year-old Nischith A and extorted money from his family at least a month earlier, police said. The main accused got to know financial details about Nischith's family while driving them in the last few months for numerous trips, including a site visit to a property that the boy's grandfather intended to buy. Gurumurthy was assigned as driver for a trip booked by Nischith's mother through a rental driver app a few months ago. Two sub-inspectors attached to Hulimavu police station knew details about allegations of child abuse against him. Assigned to attend a complaint at the old-age home in the first week of July, Gopi swiped a basic handset belonging to a 75-year-old inmate and gave the sim to Gurumurthy and kept the handset. No complaint of the mobile phone theft was filed by the septuagenarian woman's family. Police said Gopi has no criminal antecedents. Gurumurthy, a journalism course dropout, used the sim to register WhatsApp on a spare mobile phone and then removed it so that it appeared switched off when someone tried to call the number. This account was used by Gurumurthy to make ransom calls and send messages to Nischith's family by using VPN or VoIP on connecting to the internet by converting his own mobile phone connection to a hotspot. Police suspect Gurumurthy learnt about the technology from his elder brother, an assistant security officer at an Indian embassy in West Asia. Gurumurthy, who along with Gopi, was shot at by police in the legs near Bannerghatta on Aug 1, has been shifted to a hospital ward from the ICU. "We'll take the accused into police custody once doctors give their opinion," an officer said.
