‘Everything has been destroyed': Rajasthan man serves tea wearing handcuffs in protest against dowry case
Tea stall owner Krishna Kumar Dhakad's shop name is also unique '498A T Caf', referencing to Section 498A under which his wife had filed a dowry harassment case against him. Posters around Dhakad's tea shop carry slogans like 'Jab tak nahi milta nyay, tab tak ubalti rahegi chai' (Until I get justice, the tea will keep boiling) and 'Aao chai par karein charcha, 125 mein kitna dena padega kharcha'.
Dhakad married Meenakshi Malav in 2018. Together, they operated a beekeeping business.
In 2022, Malav allegedly left home without warning and returned to her parents' house.
After few months, Malav filed cases against Dhakad under IPC Section 498A (dowry harassment) and Section 125 (maintenance).
'Everything has been destroyed because of a false case. For the last three years, I've been wandering from court to court in Anta for justice. I have an old mother who depends on me. I live under a tin shed and have nothing left. Many times I thought of ending my life, but then I remembered I am my mother's only support,' Dhakad told India Today 's sister channel Aaj Tak.
He also said: 'I have decided that I will fight this legal battle impartially by selling tea in the very area where I was trapped by misuse of the law.'
'Every time I go to court, all I get is tareekh pe tareekh (adjournment after adjournment). Justice seems nowhere in sight. Now I am tired and have decided to fight this legal war by running a tea stall in Anta,' Dhakad added.
According to the media report, Malav alleged, 'He asked for money from my father to buy land. When we refused, he beat me up. I then returned to my father's house. I'm ready for a divorce, but first, all the loans taken in my name must be repaid.'

Two people including Sahara Group's director arrested in money laundering case
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Sunday said that it has arrested two persons in probe against the Sahara Group over money laundering case, which included Anil Vailaparampil Abraham, Executive Director of Sahara Group's Chairman Core Management (CCM) Office, and Jitendra Prasad Verma, a long-time associate and property broker of the conglomerate. The arrests were made by ED's Kolkata zonal branch in connection with the money laundering probe against the Sahara group and its linked entities. Both the accused are currently in the ED's remand. They were produced before the court on Saturday, following which the central agency was given their custody till Monday. In an official statement, the ED said, 'Anil V Abraham played a key role in coordinating and facilitating the sale of Sahara Group properties, many of which involved substantial unaccounted cash components that were siphoned off while J. P. Verma was involved in executing these property transactions and assisted in routing large cash proceeds generated from these sale transactions,' and added that the duo tried to hide the proceeds of crime. The investigating agency also claims to have found various incriminating evidence during its search operations, conducted under the PMLA and said that it was being deliberately disposed of to evade accountability. 'It was found from the various digital evidence that these 2 persons, viz., Anil V Abraham and JP Verma, had played a key role in the disposal of such properties and assisting the promoters of the Sahara group in siphoning off the funds. The promoters were found to be involved in such malpractices while remaining outside India,' it further said. The ED investigation into alleged money laundering began on the basis of three FIRs registered under Sections 420 and 120B of the IPC, 1860, against M/s Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (HICCSL) and others by the Police in Odisha, Bihar, and Rajasthan. It further informed that over 500 FIRs have been registered against various Sahara Group entities, with more than 300 involving scheduled offences under the PMLA, alleging large-scale cheating of depositors through forced redeposits and denial of maturity payments. The ED claimed that the Sahara Group was operating a Ponzi scheme through entities like HICCSL, SCCSL, SUMCS, SMCSL, SICCL, SIRECL, SHICL, and lured depositors and agents with promises of high returns and commissions. During investigations, statements of various persons, including depositors, agents, employees of the Sahara Group and other related persons, were also recorded under Section 50 of PMLA. Also, searches were conducted under section 17 of PMLA wherein cash of Rs. 2.98 Crore was seized.

Karnataka man rescued after falling into river while taking pictures, says 'wife pushed me'
What seemed like a harmless pitstop in the middle of a bridge to take pictures turned into a dramatic rescue op and a blame game when a man was allegedly pushed into a river by his wife. He was later rescued by the locals. Several videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, showing how the man was rescued by locals. The man, however, claimed he was pushed into the river during the photo session by his wife, reported India Today. Luckily, the man managed to cling to a rock in the middle of the river and called for help, following which, some locals came to his rescue and helped him to safety. While the man alleged that he was pushed into the river by his wife, the latter has denied the charges. The locals threw a rope at the man stranded in the middle of the river. He is seen holding onto the rope and swimming towards the bridge, following which, the rescuers pull him upwards. The wife, who has denied her husband's accusation that she pushed him, is also seen in the middle of the bridge asking for help to save him from onlookers and bystanders. While several reports say that no formal complaint has been made about the matter, India Today has reported that the man has claimed in his complaint that it was his wife who insisted on stopping at Gurjapur Barrage to take some pictures. It happened while they were coming back from her parental home. He added that when she asked him to stand at the edge of the bridge for pictures, he did so and his wife pushed him into the river in an attempt to kill him. In his complaint, he has written, "Trusting her, I stood there facing the water, at which point she suddenly pushed me into the flowing river in an attempt to kill me. Swept away by the current, I managed to grab hold of a rock in the middle of the river and started shouting for help from passersby on the bridge," reported India Today.

4 hurt in building collapse at Telangana's Anurag University
HYDERABAD: Four construction workers were injured after a portion of an under-construction building at Anurag University in Pocharam collapsed on Saturday morning. The incident occurred during slab work on the 10th floor of a 10-storey structure on the campus in Majarguda under Pocharam IT Corridor police station limits. "Part of the slab gave way and the workers fell to the floor below. Fortunately, they escaped with injuries," said Pocharam police inspector B Raju. The injured workers - Om Prakash and Raju Yadav from Chhattisgarh, and Raju and Keshavulu from Mahbubabad - were rushed to a nearby hospital and are reported to be out of danger.
