Charlize Theron torches celebs attending Bezos-Sánchez wedding with shocking insult during charity speech
Charlize Theron eviscerated Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 's wedding guest list at her charity event Block Party on Saturday night. The lavish nuptials boasted A-listers in entertainment and sports, from Tom Brady, the Kardashians, Ivanka Trump, Oprah Winfrey and more attending the Venice, Italy soiree. However, the three-day affair has also attracted criticism, with many in Venice unhappy the couple chose to hold their wedding in town, sparking protests in the city. Theron, 49, weighed in on the attendees as she hit the stage at her event, which benefits her non-profit Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. 'I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding. But that's OK because they suck and we're cool,' she deadpanned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comment was likely a joke, but Theron continued expressing her outrage over politics and the 'backwards' handling of various issues. The Monster actress thanked everyone for 'taking the time to be a part of this, especially when the world feels like it's burning because it is. Here in Los Angeles, in the U.S. and across the globe, we're moving backwards fast. 'Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women's rights are becoming less and less every day; queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased; and gender-based violence is on the rise. This isn't just policy, it's personal,' she said, before adding, 'Yeah, f**k them.' Created in 2007 by Theron, CTAOP 'invests in and advances the health and safety of young people in Southern Africa to create a more equitable future for all,' according to their website. Theron herself has a personal connection to the issue of immigration - she originally hails from South Africa and came to the United States, however was deported at age 19 after she overstayed her work visa, according to THR. Ultimately, she was granted permission to return and in 2007 became a U.S. citizen. 'I got deported when I was 19 for producing and financing a documentary on Cuba,' she told OK! in 2008. 'You don't want to keep pushing your luck. I only became an American citizen last year,' she added. She told Vogue of becoming a U.S. citizen back in a 2007 interview: 'After the last two elections I kind of went, You know what? If this is where I'm going to live, I want to be able to vote. 'I don't want to just talk a good game. I want to be able to be involved without having some horrible fear that I'm going to get kicked out.' Theron brought her mother and numerous friends along as she became a naturalized citizen in a day-long event in downtown Los Angeles. 'My mom got really emotional,' Theron continued. 'She was like: "We're Americans!" You know, you stand up and you take your oath and you get a piece of paper personally written from President Bush, welcoming you to America. 'But it's weird. There's something in my blood that will always be South African. Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could ever lose that.' Described as the 'wedding of a century,' Bezos and Sanchez exchanged vows in front of nearly 200 VIPs on San Giorgio Maggiore island in Venice, Italy, on Friday. Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kylie Jenner, Usher, Khloe Kardashian and new bachelor Orlando Bloom were among those who were present to see Bezos and Sanchez exchange vows. But the couple's arrival in Venice was far from smooth sailing, with the duo plagued by protesters who were furious the needs of local residents were allegedly being sidelined to make way for wealthy tourists. Bezos is worth around $224.6 billion and is thought to have spent tens of millions on his wedding. 'If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax,' one gigantic banner read in St. Mark's Square. Greenpeace and the UK-based collective Everyone Hates Elon joined protests in Venice attempting to disrupt, or even prevent, the planned wedding celebrations of Amazon founder Bezos. 'Jeff Bezos is the second-richest man in the world yet is reported to pay a 1.1 percent true tax rate,' the two groups previously said in a joint statement. 'The multi-million-dollar wedding is reportedly happening over three days, with the wedding ring alone worth as much as $5million.' A spokesperson from Everyone Hates Elon previously said: 'As governments talk about hard choices and struggle to fund public services, Jeff Bezos can afford to shut down half a city for days on end just to get married.' Venice mayor Luigi Brugnaro and regional governor Luca Zaia have spoken out in favor of the nuptials, which have been dubbed, 'the wedding of the century,' pointing out that the celebrations are expected to bring $23-34million to local businesses.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos 'begged' bride Lauren Sánchez to break a wedding tradition… and her reaction was priceless
Jeff Bezos usually doesn't hear the word no - but he did before his wedding. The billionaire businessman, 61, really wanted to see Lauren Sanchez, 55, wearing her wedding dress prior to their nuptials- he even 'begged' at one point - but the bride wasn't having it. Vogue Italia editor Laura Tortora told People that Sanchez 'resisted because she wanted to give him this surprise at all costs.' When they did exchange vows on Friday in Venice, Italy, in front of an estimated 200 celebrity guests, Sanchez was clad in a Dolce & Gabbana custom gown. The garment was corseted and in a mermaid style, which piqued the interest of the Amazon founder prior to the nuptials, Tortora told the outlet. 'This happened after the fitting at Dolce & Gabbana, so her last fitting, and our insiders saw her immediately after, and she was really, really excited,' Tortora told People. Sanchez, seen with her new spouse in Venice, Italy on Saturday, didn't want to spoil the surprise of Bezos seeing her in her wedding gown ahead of the nuptials Tortora added that Sanchez 'herself said, 'It was stronger than I imagined,' and she told us that Jeff wanted to see this dress.' She continued: 'Bezos begged to see the dress. But inside herself she resisted because she wanted to give him this surprise at all costs and so she managed it.' Measures were taken to prevent the affluent businessman from seeing the broadcaster in the elaborate ensemble ahead of their special day, Tortora told the magazine. Bezos 'was kept in a room that didn't face the lawn where she was being photographed,' she said, 'so even in that context, attention was paid to this so she could maintain the secret with her future husband.'
