Cody Rhodes has been the golden goose of
WWE
's modern era, with his road to the top beginning after returning to the company in 2022. The American Nightmare reached the pinnacle at WrestleMania 40, winning the WWE Championship in grand fashion.
Furthermore, he has been credited as the biggest baby face of this generation. However, fans have showered loud boos on him on numerous occasions, especially at WrestleMania 41. Witnessing his remarkable run so far, Rhodes believed that the time for a major change is fast approaching.
Cody Rhodes admits that a huge character makeover is almost close
In a conversation with Kay Adams at Fanatics Fest, Cody Rhodes admitted that his run as a babyface is almost coming to an end. Moreover, he acknowledged the spectacular moments he experienced, but was aware that the fans always expect something new.
He said,
'
The being a good guy aspect of it—I don't get tired of it because I get to have all of those moments. I do think we're probably at the tail end of it though. Because there's only so much someone can like you. I'd like to do it until the end of my career, but at some point it's like, 'Alright, all we do is cheer for him.' Eventually, fans want to see someone else. I get that. And that's when you have to change as a character.'
Furthermore, the Prodigal Son believed that he had close to a year or a maximum of three years left as a baby face. Moreover, Rhodes also added that if The Final Boss,
The Rock
, had it his way, he would have been a heel already.
'I think you've got a good solid year, maybe even three years, because I'm not changing until I'm changed. My hair is naturally dark, I don't know if I can go back. But if The Rock had it his way, I would've been changed already. So I think he sees something I don't see, and that's a very smart individual—so maybe I follow his lead,'
said Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes had been a hated heel during his time in All Elite Wrestling. With the golden boy himself confirming a heel turn is coming soon, it will be interesting to see that side of him at the prime of his career in WWE.

The two-time WWE Universal Champion discussed his journey in the sport and reasons for retirement during the conversation. You know there's a lot you got to do at one point. I don't have anyone helping anymore. I've got my agents, but I don't have assistance, and I don't have anybody working under the roof other than myself. It's tough to be able to fit everything in. But there will be a lull after this match. I won't be wrestling anymore,' he said. 'If Bioxcellerator didn't hook me up with the stem cells, I don't think I'd be able to be doing this. WWE star Chad Gable injured ahead of Night of Champions, could miss rest of the year

The injury comes ahead of the upcoming Night of Champions tournament in Riyadh. Pro W Finesse announced the same via a social media post which read, 'Chad Gable being injured genuinely sucks. He has been the ultimate workhorse 💔' WWE champion Chad Gable suffered an injury.(X) How long will Gable be out? Gable had received an undisclosed injury recently due to which he had been written off WWE TV as well. During Monday's episode of WWE Raw, Penta brutally attacked Gable backstage during which his arm snapped off- an instance that PWInsider Elite is now reporting as a deliberate measure to write him off the show due to his sustained injury. What was being kept a secret three days back is now in the open as Gable is scheduled to go for surgery sometime in early July. No update was provided on when fans can expect to see him back in the squared ring but due to the extent of his injury, he is being ruled out of the company at least for the rest of this year. This development has squashed all the hard work and effort invested by the 39-year-old player who must now wait for the medical go-ahead before resuming past activities. Before news of his injury broke, he had come off from an occupied weekend in Los Angeles, California where he wrestled El Hijo del Vikingo in the main event of WWE Worlds Collide. Later in the day, Gable also competed in the Men's Money in the Bank Match as his alter ego El Grande Americano.
