Dog's 'Pure Joy' as Owner Sets Up Splash Pad in Yard Wins Pet of the Week

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A week filled with fun videos of puppies trying to master the stairs and a friendly doggy neighbor making his rounds brightened our social media timelines, but a few of our readers' pet videos and pictures stood out. Check out our latest winner and finalists for this week's Pet of the Week line-up. Be sure to follow the instructions at the end of the story to submit your pet to be in the running. Courtesy of Debi Kleiman This week's Pet of the Week winner is Camden, a "supermutt" dog obsessed with playing in the water. Camden's owner, Debi Kleiman, will place a splash pad out for him with water shooting out like a fountain all around the perimeter. He'll jump through the water, back-and-forth, again and again, showing nothing but "pure joy." He'll play until it turns off, Kleiman told Newsweek via email. "During this escapade, he played for 20 minutes straight until he busted it," she said. "We were able to repair it." Camden will trade in a chewing toy or stuffed animal for any game that spouts out water, such as hoses, gutters, faucets or sprinklers. But the one in the video is by far his favorite, Kleiman said. "Camden is 100% fun and love, he is always happy," Kleiman said. "...We were so lucky to find him, he always makes us laugh." Finalists Thelma and George, two rescue Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz mixes from Spain. Thelma and George, two rescue Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz mixes from Spain. Susanne Dickmann After seeing animal shelters desperate for adopters as the COVID-19 pandemic ramped up, Susanne Dickmann and her family stepped up to adopt George and Thelma, who earned a spot as one of our finalists for this week. George and Thelma are Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz canines, Dickmann told Newsweek via email. Also known as the Andalusian terrier, these dogs were bred to help protect vineyard wine cellars from potential rat infestations. "They have a lovely, calm, affectionate disposition and are the perfect family dogs," she said. A photo of Shaggy, the Schnauzer mix, who is a therapy dog in Florida. Monica Terrazas adopted him from the Humane Society in Dania Beach, Florida, after he was dropped on her lap at work during an event that brought in shelter dogs. "As soon as I took a walk outside my office, the HR director placed a puppy in my arms," Terrazas said. "She basically told me that he was adorable and that if I didn't take him home, then she would." She welcomed Shaggy home where he's quickly adjusted with her other dog, a 9-year-old named Kiki. Kiki has been showing Shaggy the ropes of how to be a dog, while also easing his fears and anxieties. With endless training, Shaggy is now a therapy dog and has earned a Canine Good Citizen certification. Photos of the animals a woman in Arizona helps rescue and rehabilitate. Ellie of Arizona has spent years dedicating her time and energy to helping animals. She volunteered at a local no-kill cat shelter. Since 2000, she's been working with numerous cats, helping to feed and medicate them. She especially focuses on the sick and elderly felines that are often overlooked. Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan in ... More "Thunderbolts*." Thunderbolts*, Marvel's latest adventure starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan and David Harbour, is coming to digital streaming this week. Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts*, aka The New Avengers, opened in theaters on May 2. The official summary for the film reads, 'Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova (Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Stan), Red Guardian (Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) and John Walker (Wyatt Russell). 'After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it's too late?' Rated PG-13, Thunderbolts* also stars Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer and Wendell Pierce. Disney-Marvel announced in a YouTube trailer on June 18 that Thunderbolts* would be arriving on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, July 1. In addition, Thunderbolts* will be available to rent for $24.99 for a 48-hour period that begins once the viewer begins watching the film. Jake Schreier Pitched His Ideas About 'Thunderbolts' While Working On Netflix Hit 'Beef' In an interview with The Wrap published on Thunderbolts* opening day in theaters on May 2, director Jake Schreier told the trade publication that he began pitching his ideas for the Marvel antihero film while directing episodes for acclaimed 2022 Netflix dark comedy series Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. During the long process of laying out his game plan for Thunderbolts* for Marvel Studios, Schreier told The Wrap that he even brought Beef creator Lee Sung Jin to work on some drafts of the script. 'It was about bringing a lot of that tone that we explored in Beef and feeling like that could work on an even larger scale,' Schreier told The Wrap. 'He really believed in this idea that you could explore darker, internal issues and that these ideas are not niche anymore, that those are really universal things that everyone experienced.' Thunderbolts* to date has earned $187,6 million domestically and $191.8 million internationally for a worldwide box office gross of $381.5 million against a $180 million production budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers. In addition, the film earned an 88% 'fresh' rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 350 reviews and a 93% 'fresh' Popcornmeter score based on 10,000-plus verified user ratings. Rated PG-13, Thunderbolts* will be released on digital streaming on July 1.

Bonnie Blue Says Andrew Tate and Her 'Have a Lot in Common'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. British sex worker Bonnie Blue told Newsweek that she and manosphere influencer Andrew Tate have a "lot in common," shortly after the two appeared on the Disruptors podcast together for a highly publicized and controversial interview. Newsweek reached out to a representative for Tate for comment on this article via email. The Context Tate is a 38-year-old British American influencer and former kickboxer. He is a self-described misogynist, and is charged with rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women in Romania. In the U.K., he faces additional charges involving multiple women which include rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for financial gain. Tate's brother Tristan faces similar charges. They deny all allegations against them. Photo-illustration by Newsweek/Getty/Canva/Instagram Blue is 26-year-old British sex worker who has developed a high profile since launching her adult film career in 2023, courting scandal and controversy before reaching the height of virality in January of 2025 after sleeping with 1,057 men in 12 hours. What To Know In a video interview with Newsweek, Blue spoke about Tate and their appearance on the Disruptors podcast. The episode, titled "Confronting Andrew Tate & Bonnie Blue: World Exclusive: Have Men Lost Their Power & Has Feminism Ruined Society," aired on Friday June 20, and was hosted by Rob Moore. The Merriam Webster dictionary definition of feminism reads: "Belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests." In it, Tate, who has described himself as "absolutely a misogynist," as per the BBC, and stated his view that women shouldn't be able to vote on social media multiple times, said that Blue is the "End result of feminism." Asked what drew her to work with Tate, Blue told Newsweek "We have a lot in common." She continued, "I don't just mean some of our beliefs and thoughts, but in terms of we're both very hated by the public, the media paint us in the worst light possible." "Online, I'm this villain. Everyone hates me, they think I'm a predator, they think I'm disgusting," Blue said. "I'm not what the media make out," Blue told Newsweek. Addressing the allegations faced by Tate, Blue said "Yes, he has allegations against him." "But I also get told all the time I'm a predator, I'm a groomer. And there's no facts behind that. There's no evidence of that," she said, adding "The papers and the media still paint me in that light." Blue has faced accusations of predatory behavior, due to her having sex with what she has described as 'barely legal,' 18- and 19-year-olds, who she would meet at welcome weeks on college campuses in the U.K. and Australia. What People Are Saying Bonnie Blue told Newsweek: "What one person says about you online is very different to what is the truth." What's Next The brothers' trial in Britain has been fixed to start on June 22, 2026. The Tate brothers' Romanian case has been delayed after the court ordered prosecutors to reconsider certain aspects of it. The brothers may also be under federal criminal investigation in the United States, according to OCCRP.
