Casting News: Titus Welliver on Dark Winds, Days Recasts a DiMera and More
Titus Welliver is feeling some Dark Winds.
The ever-busy actor — who, not long after he ended his run as TV's Harry Bosch, joined the MGM+ crime drama The Westies — apparently will first slip in a visit to the acclaimed AMC drama, according to a photo from the set Welliver posted on social media.

There's no word yet on Welliver's role — TVLine has reached out to AMC for character details — but the photo and his caption ('back on the chain…') seem to indicate he's playing a Season 4 prisoner of some sort. Dark Winds concluded its third season in April; check out our finale recap here.
Welliver is best known to TV fans for his starring role in Prime Video's crime drama Bosch, which ended a seven-season run in 2021, and its spinoff Bosch: Legacy, which wrapped up earlier this year. He also guest-starred in an April episode of CBS' The Equalizer with an eye towards getting his own spinoff, but it failed to earn a series pick-up. His other TV credits include Deadwood, The Good Wife and Sons of Anarchy.

* Conner Floyd — best known to daytime TV fans for his run as The Young and the Restless' Phillip 'Chance' Chancellor IV — has joined Peacock's Days of Our Lives as a recast Chad DiMera, Deadline was first to report. Billy Flynn previously filled the Days role, and now plays Y&R's Aristotle Dumas, aka Cane Ashby. Floyd will first air as Chad in April 2026.
* Timothy Olyphant, who can next be seen playing a 'synth' in FX's Alien: Earth, is the latest addition to the cast of Peacock's adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand's The Five-Star Weekend. He joins previously announced cast members Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D'Arcy Carden.

Runway now has its sights on the video game industry with its new generative AI platform
The AI startup Runway, which recently partnered with AMC Networks, is now trying to break into the gaming industry. The company has plans to launch its latest platform, called Game Worlds, next week, according to The Verge . The new tool lets Runway users create something akin to an interactive text-based game that can generate text and images from AI. Even though Game Worlds can only produce basic designs for now, the company's CEO, Cristóbal Valenzuela, is hoping this will be the first step towards more AI use in the gaming industry. Valenzuela told The Verge that "generated video games are coming later this year," adding that Runway is looking to partner with video game companies, which will be able to use the company's AI tools, while it gets access to video game datasets to train its AI on. However, the use of AI in video games has already drawn a lot of criticism from industry professionals, even leading to the SAG-AFTRA union striking against video game companies using its members' likenesses and voices to train AI. Runway has faced its own controversy for reportedly training its AI on YouTube videos and pirated movies despite being against the video platform's terms. Still, Runway is looking to replicate the similar success it's had with major TV and film studios. In the AMC deal, the AI company would help create promotional materials and help "accelerate pre-visualization during development." Before AMC, Runway secured a partnership with Lionsgate to provide its AI for the studio's "pre-production and post-production process." As for the gaming world, Runway wouldn't be the first to introduce generative AI since the industry has seen other examples already, like Ubisoft using a tool called Ghostwriter to create video game dialogue.

‘Sirens' Star's Mystery Thriller ‘Drop' Gets Peacock Streaming Date
Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar in "Drop." Drop — a mystery thriller starring Netflix's Sirens star Meghann Fahy and 1923's Brandon Sklenar — is coming soon to streaming on Peacock. Directed by Christopher Landon, Drop was released in theaters on April 11 before debuting on digital streaming via premium video on demand on April 29. The summary for Drop reads, "Meghann Fahy (Devon in Sirens) plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. "But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.' According to Peacock, Drop will begin streaming on the NBC Universal platform on Friday, July 11. For those who haven't subscribed to the platform, Peacock offers an ad-based package for $7.99 per month or $79 per year and an ad-free package for $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year. Meghann Fahy Gets Top Billing On 'Drop' Following Meghann Fahy's success of Max's The White Lotus Season 2 — which earned her an Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2023 — and a pivotal supporting role in Netflix's limited series The Perfect Couple, Fahy is billed as the lead actor in Drop. In an interview with Variety before Drop was released in theaters in April, Fahy told the trade publication that she was excited to be No. 1 on the call sheet for the film. 'It's been amazing. It's so interesting when you go film something, and then a year later, you get to see and share it with people,' Fahy told Variety. 'It's a really, really cool moment. I loved the process of making the film so much. It was a very new experience for me in a lot of ways. I learned a ton, and I met some amazing people.' Ultimately, Fahy knows there are several other talented people who come together to make movies happen. 'I formed such close relationships with the cast, especially Brandon Sklenar and [fellow actor] Jeffrey Self, so sharing the moment with them is something I will remember when I look back because it felt like such a team sport,' Fahy told Variety.
