FC Barcelona Ace Leaves Club On Three-Year Deal
An FC Barcelona star has agreed to leave the club on a three-year contract with a Spanish rival as first reported by SPORT, which cited anonymous sources, but then confirmed by the club on Friday afternoon.
As his fall from grace continues, Ansu Fati was expected to be the first big departure out of the club.
The Lamine Yamal of his era who smashed a number of youngest goalscorer and appearance maker records at club and international level at the turn of the decade was handed Lionel Messi's number 10 shirt when the Argentine fled for Paris Saint-Germain, such were the great expectations made of him.
With injuries complicating his trajectory, however, Fati was sent out on loan to Brighton in the Premier League in 2023/2024 where he failed to impress overall.
Things weren't much better last term under Hansi Flick either. On his return to the club, Fati was unable to convince the German of his worth in a treble-winning season and is being strongly linked with a move to AS Monaco as Barca closes in on Nico Williams for their shared left wing position.
Yet while that potential operation looks to have stalled, Barca has seen another La Masia-produced talent leave its ranks.
As reported on by SPORT and later confirmed by the club, Aleix Garrido is on his way out of the exit door after 13 seasons in Blaugrana - the last two of which were with the reserves who he captained in 2024/2025.
Garrido will join second division Eibar on a three-year deal, and does so as one of the most promising players of the reserve outfit known as Barca Atletic, which is now overseen by the scorer of the winning goal in the 2006 Champions League final Juliano Belletti.
By opting for a transfer away from Catalonia, Garrido is yet another La Masia promise that didn't see a clear path to the first team. Simultaneously, however, there are examples such as that of Marc Casado's, which speak to the value of biding one's time and waiting for the opportunity to come.

Morton handpicked by Lyon manager His misery was compounded by an injury that wrecked the second half of his season. Morton recovered to take his place in England's UEFA Euro U21 squad - with the schemer being successful alongside Harvey Elliott as the Three Lions retained the trophy. A player of considerable promise, Morton leaves having played 14 times for the seniors - and enjoyed productive loan spells away from Anfield at Blackburn and especially Hull City. He has been handpicked by Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca - who is reported to see him as a dream signing according to L'Equipe. Morton fee reported at €10m 'He will cost €10 million and will sign a five-year contract,' write Hugo Guillemet and Loïc Tanzi. 'The latter has long been identified by the Lyon team: a complete and modern number 6 very comfortable on the ball, capable of playing as an 8, he fits the profile sought by Paulo Fonseca to take his midfield to the next level.' The deal has been reported at £15m in the British media but French claims are that the transfer is for significantly less than that. Liverpool stand to benefit to the tune of around €10m initially and €5m more will be sent their way based on bonuses. © IMAGO Liverpool receive 20 percent cut 'OL reached an agreement with the Reds on a transfer fee of €10 million. Bonuses of up to €5 million will also be added to the deal, although they are quite difficult to achieve.' However, the real benefit of the deal could come further down the line. Liverpool have managed to insert a clause in the move which will see them gain a cut of future profits. 'Liverpool will retain 20% of any potential future capital gains,' the report concludes. Lyon have got a very good track record in selling players - including Tanguy Ndombele, Bradley Barcola and Lucas Paqueta. If, as expected, Morton impressed for his new club over the next few seasons it could be envisaged that he completes a money-spinning deal back to the Premier League.

Update On The Future Of This Barcelona Midfielder: Should Flick Let Him Go This Summer?
In a recent report, Diario AS offered an update on the future of Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. It has been stated that the Catalan club are willing to let the Spanish talent leave this summer. Casado's Important Role At The Nou Camp Casado served as a useful role player at the La Liga club and managed to put in a series of solid performances for them at the centre of the park. The 21-year-old found the back of the net once and earned six assists in 36 appearances for Barcelona last season across various competitions. The Spanish midfield ace offered decent protection for his teammates at the back as he made 44 tackles, 20 blocks and 22 interceptions in La Liga football. He was accurate when distributing possession from midfield after completing 89.3% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via His current contract at the Catalan club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, Barcelona are in no immediate need to cash in on Casado this off-season. (Photo by) Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Let Casado Leave This Summer? Casado loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is an accurate passer of the ball. The Spanish talent can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. He is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-back if needed. However, the talented midfielder is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and could struggle to earn regular game time if he stays with the Catalan club beyond this summer. Casado is currently playing a useful role in Barcelona boss Hansi Flick's squad. However, the Catalan club should look to let him leave this summer, but only if they can bring in a suitable replacement for him before the end of this transfer window. Another option for Barca would be to keep hold of him for the long run because his market value might rise in the future.

Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand open to Juventus transfer
Sporting Lisbon central midfielder and skipper Mortjen Hjulmand has opened up to a potential transfer to Juventus and would be prepared for a return to Italy after two seasons in Portugal. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that after several contacts between the Bianconeri and the former Lecce holding-midfielder's entourage, Hjulmand has a reached an agreement in principle on a five-year contract until 2030. However, Juventus face a massive hurdle in attaining coach Igor Tudor's primary target in midfield as following the sale of star-forward Victor Gyokeres to Arsenal, the Portuguese giants have no intentions in making another sale of a significant player. As it stands, Sporting Lisbon would only let the 26-year-old depart for the lucrative release clause of €60m, a figure that is extremely difficult for Juventus to reach. Hence, Hjulmand has asked his agents to discuss with Sporting in order to convince the club to drop their asking price to a fee around the region of €40m. In the event that the Old Lady are unable to attain their primary target, Juventus have identified Tottenham's Yves Bissouma, Matt O'Riley of Brighton, and Fenerbache's Sofyan Amrabat.
