Behold, the Best Festival Outfits at NYC's 2025 Governors Ball
Whether they were decked out in Doc Martens and sequinned hot shorts to pay homage to O-Rod or rocked Golf Le Fleur to awaken their inner CHROMAKOPIA, fans did not come to play with their looks this year. ICYMI, festival fashion has long evolved from the bohemian chic flower crown era. Attendees pulled out their favorite thrift finds and even put in the work to make their own looks. Some even centered their outfits around a singular beauty product, which made for a wildly impressive turnout.
Naturally, we set up shop on Gov Ball's festival grounds and caught up with some of music's best-dressed superfans as we lensed them on Instax film. Spoiler alert: they did not disappoint, so scroll through and get ready to screenshot inspiration for your festival season moodboard.
'The whole group went with more 90s influences just to kind of match Tyler, the Creator's vibe. My sister's a nail artist and she did them for free. They're junk inspired.'

Teen tragically dies after hitting his head in botched backflip attempt
An Australian teenager died after a celebratory backflip attempt took a tragic turn. Sonny Blundell, who just moved from New South Wales to an apartment in Queensland for a concreting job and to 'start a new life with his girlfriend,' was found unresponsive by his roommate after the stunt on June 24, his heartbroken older sister, Izabella Cromack-Hay, told The Daily Telegraph. 'He hit his head in the lounge room on the ground and had a headache went to bed,' Cromack-Hay told the outlet. '[He] woke up, went to the toilet vomiting and then passed out. GoFundMe The 18-year-old was rushed to the Queensland Hospital Intensive Care Unit and suffered 'multiple strokes.' 'The first 24hrs was the most critical which we nearly lost him after having multiple strokes and another bleed which lead (sic) to him needing a drain in his brain,' Cromack-Hay shared on the GoFundMe page that was made to help pay for Blundell's medical bills and rehab. 'There is major uncertainty that Sonny will or will not pull through. He's working his hardest as there could be recovery and rehabilitation.' Advertisement Doctors placed him in a coma and performed brain surgery but he eventually died from his injuries on June 30, his sister confirmed on the GoFundMe page. 'Our beautiful Sonny has grown his wings and passed away,' Cromack-Hay added. 'We are all in disbelief and major pain.' Money raised from the fundraiser will be used to return his body to his family in New South Wales and pay for funeral costs. 'We need to bring Sonny home as his sisters are waiting for him,' Cromack-Hay wrote in a GoFundMe update on June 30. 'We are all here in Queensland trying our hardest to organize this horrible time and prepare ourselves.' Advertisement 3 Blundell was rushed to the ICU after a roommate found him unresponsive. Angélique Kidjo first black African to get Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Musical icon Angélique Kidjo has become the first black African performer to be selected for a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. Kidjo, who comes from the West African country of Benin and has won five Grammy awards, was among the 35 names announced as part of the Walk of Fame's class of 2026 list. The 64-year-old was hailed as Africa's "premier diva" during a press conference announcing the list on Wednesday. Singer Miley Cyrus, actor Timothée Chalamet, actress Demi Moore and former basketball player Shaquille O'Neal are also among those set to be honoured with a star on Los Angeles' famous walk. Angélique Kidjo on being hangry and Africa's 'tsunami' of talent Red-hot Afrobeats star Rema doesn't intend to calm down Kidjo receives the honour after making music for more than four decades and releasing 16 albums. The songstress has won fans across the world with her commanding voice and ability to fuse West African styles with the likes of funk, jazz and R&B. Her long list of collaborators includes forces such as Burna Boy, Philip Glass, Sting and Alicia Keys. Kidjo joins Charlize Theron, a white South African actress, in representing Africa on the Walk of Fame. Theron received her star in 2005. The set launched at No. 1 with just under 500,000 equivalent units shifted, beating a 2025 record previously set by The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow. In the six weeks since, the country superstar's project has not vacated the top spot, and it will likely continue to dominate for several more frames, if not months. This week, Wallen leads the charge yet again, and as he holds on, he blocks one of today's hottest pop stars from earning a first leader. Benson Boone Debuts at No. 2 Benson Boone launches American Heart at No. 2 on the current edition of the Billboard 200. The pop singer-songwriter reaches a new career high point as his new collection arrives and only misses out on the top spot by one space, although the race wasn't a very close one. I'm the Problem shifted 177,000 units according to Luminate in the past tracking frame. That's almost three times as many as American Heart during the same span. Boone's sophomore full-length arrives with 61,000 equivalent album units moved. Fireworks & Rollerblades Rises on the Billboard 200 Boone became a hitmaker in the pop space last year with 'Beautiful Things,' his breakout track. That tune still ranks above both of his American Heart smashes on the Hot 100 at the moment, as it dips to No. 12 after 74 weeks on the competitive roster. 'Beautiful Things' fronted Fireworks & Rollerblades, his debut album, which peaked at No. 6 on the chart in 2024. As American Heart arrives, Fireworks & Rollerblades skates three spots north to No. 27 after 64 weeks on the Billboard 200. American Heart Gives Benson Boone His First No. 1 While American Heart might miss out on the peak position on the Billboard 200, it does earn Boone a champion on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts. The same project enters the Top Streaming Albums tally at No. 5. Benson Boone's Four Hot 100 Hits It's a big week for Boone in America, and not just on the albums rankings. Three tracks from American Heart — 'Sorry, I'm Here for Someone Else,' 'Mystical Magical,' and 'Mr. Electric Blue' — appear on multiple tallies, and all three live on the Hot 100, alongside 'Beautiful Things.' The latter is brand new, while the previous two, which were selected as singles from the full-length, rise to new heights on several rankings as excitement around Boone's new project reaches a fever pitch.
