Aamir Khan recently reflected on his evolving relationships with fellow superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, shedding light on how personal hardships helped shape those bonds. In a candid conversation with The Lallantop, Aamir revealed that it was during a particularly dark period in his life that he found an unexpected friend in Salman. 'After my separation from Reena (Dutta), I was emotionally broken. I would drink a lot and shut myself off from people. One evening, Salman just dropped by for dinner. I don't even remember how it happened, but we ended up talking for hours. That night marked the beginning of our real friendship.'
Their relationship hadn't always been this warm. Their first film together, the 1994 cult classic Andaz Apna Apna, was marked by tension. 'Salman would often arrive late, and I found it frustrating. At the time, I thought we could never be friends. But meeting him years later, I had changed. I'd learned that everyone has flaws. We all make mistakes. That realisation helped me become less judgmental.'
Addressing the long-standing comparisons between the three Khans, Aamir took it all in stride. He stated that it was natural that people compare top performers, whether it's in cricket or cinema. He mentioned that he understood the curiosity in the media and among fans
In a lighter moment, Aamir recounted a funny memory from his time living on Carter Road while his home was being renovated. Kiran (Rao) and he were staying in a building where Jackie Shroff also lived. One day, he saw a huge crowd outside and thought. He rushed down, only to realise they were waiting for Tiger Shroff. Aamir's recent projects
Aamir is currently enjoying the success of his recent release Sitaare Zameen Par. The film has crossed the ₹ 100 crore mark in India and earned over ₹ 160 crore worldwide, becoming the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year.

'That year, both Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai were released and were doing incredibly well. I found it ironic. I wasn't working. I wasn't meeting anyone. My personal life was in ruins,' he said, fighting back tears. Only a few people from the industry reached out during that isolating time. One of them was Juhi Chawla, his co-star from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, with whom he hadn't spoken in seven years. Aamir recalled that Juhi visited him and encouraged him to patch up with Reena. That could not happen, but Aamir appreciated Juhi's warm gesture. Aamir and Reena's relationship Aamir and Reena's relationship began long before his rise to stardom. However, this decision, when came in open brought a huge storm in their life with Reena's family cutting all ties with her and her father even suffering a heart attack. Recalling those days, Aamir Khan shared that he first read the special marriage act to understand the legalities of it. 'I first read the special marriage act to understand if what Reena and I were planning to do was politically sound. I was not yet 21 when I decided to marry. In 1986, when I turned 21 in April, on the 18th of that month we legally got married.' His friend Satya (creator of Satyameva Jayate), his wife Swati and cousin Anand were the witnesses for the court marriage. He added, 'We got married on April 18, two days after me turning 21. Those two days we waited because it was a weekend. We got married and went to our respective houses.' Their secret marriage went on for some time when a situation created by Reena's sister Anu made her reveal her marriage with Aamir Khan. Aamir recalled, 'Reena ended up revealing about our marriage to her sister Anu. She was shocked. Her parents didn't react too well. Now that Reena's parents knew this, I thought it was time my parents know it too. I called her to meet my parents. I assembled all my family members to break the news. My parents thought she was my girlfriend. They were blushing. My father was a dynamite. Unka gussa kabhi bhi phat sakta tha (He was short tempered). But once I started to tell them the details of our love story, all the ladies in the house started to cry. Surprisingly, my dad got up and hugged me. I didn't expect this. He said, 'Now you are both married, now what's bothering you?' I said, 'Reena's parents are returning from Chennai in 30 minutes and that's bothering me.'' Four months later, Reena's dad suffered a heart attack and we rushed to the hospital. I went to see him in the ICU along with Reena. She was very close to her father.
