Here is every player joining Dabo Swinney at the 2025 ACC Kickoff

USA Todaya day ago
Clemson football's representatives for the upcoming ACC Kickoff have been announced, and the Tigers are sending some of their biggest names to Charlotte.
Head coach Dabo Swinney will be joined by star quarterback Cade Klubnik, wide receiver Antonio Williams, defensive end T.J. Parker, and defensive tackle Peter Woods when Clemson takes the stage on July 24 — the final day of the ACC's annual three-day media event at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown. The Tigers will share the spotlight with Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, new Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick, NC State and Virginia.
This marks Klubnik's third straight appearance at ACC Kickoff as he prepares for a highly anticipated 2025 season. The Heisman hopeful threw for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns last year, helping the Tigers reclaim the ACC crown and punch a ticket back to the College Football Playoff. He's widely projected as a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
For Parker, Woods and Williams, this will be their first ACC Kickoff appearance, but each brings big-time production and high NFL upside. Parker led Clemson in sacks with 11 and set a school record with six forced fumbles last season. Woods, despite modest stats, anchors the interior with his power and ability to disrupt plays. Williams, who came back for his senior year, is Klubnik's top target after a 75-catch, 904-yard, 11-touchdown campaign in 2024.
With its core stars returning, Clemson will aim to defend its ACC title and make another deep Playoff push after snapping a three-year postseason drought.

What Georgia Bulldogs are attending the 2025 SEC media days

The Georgia Bulldogs will take the stage at the 2025 SEC media days event at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday, July 15. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart will speak with the media in the morning along with Georgia's three player representatives. Georgia junior quarterback Gunner Stockton, junior linebacker C.J. Allen and senior cornerback Daylen Everette are Georgia's student-athlete attendees. Smart typically likes to bring experienced leaders to SEC media days and 2025 will be no different. Perhaps the most surprising Georgia attendee is Gunner Stockton, who has not even officially been named as the starter yet. Stockton's attendance could indicate that Georgia has significant confidence in the talented quarterback. Stockton previously gained a significant amount of experience with the media in the lead up to Georgia's College Football Playoff game in the Sugar Bowl against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Stockton is humble and probably won't make many headline quotes at the media event, which is what Kirby Smart prefers. The SEC Network will have live coverage of SEC media days, which runs from July 14-17.

Where Clemson landed in Phil Steele's preseason ACC football rankings for 2025

Clemson football's expectations for the 2025-26 season continue to climb as another respected voice puts the Tigers in elite company. Phil Steele, one of the sport's most trusted analysts, rolled out his latest national rankings of all 136 FBS teams, slotting Clemson at No. 6 overall. Steele's confidence in Dabo Swinney's squad isn't new — he's already rated six of Clemson's seven position groups among the nation's top 10, with five cracking the top three. Now, his preseason poll places the Tigers just outside the top five, trailing only a handful of blueblood contenders. Penn State tops Steele's list as his early national favorite at No. 1, followed by Notre Dame, which breaks up the SEC and Big Ten dominance by claiming the second spot. Texas, Alabama and the defending national champion Ohio State round out the top five ahead of Clemson, setting up a familiar playoff chase. Closer to home, the Tigers easily lead all ACC teams in Steele's projections. Miami checks in next at No. 14, while SMU — one of the league's newest members — appears at No. 23. Louisville, Pitt, and Florida State hover in the next tier, but none come close to matching the expectations surrounding Clemson's loaded roster. The Tigers return plenty of proven talent on both sides of the ball, with Cade Klubnik back under center, a deep defensive front anchored by T.J. Parker and Peter Woods, and go-to receiver Antonio Williams ready to make another leap. It all adds up to Steele viewing Clemson as not just the team to beat in the ACC but a serious threat to crash the College Football Playoff again. After ending their postseason drought last year, the Tigers now have a clear target on their back — and a growing sense they're right where they belong. Tarik Skubal detailed Max Fried's classy gesture ahead of All-Star Game

Reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal is putting together yet another elite season for the Tigers, which is why he will be taking the mound to start in Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game at Atlanta's Truist Park. Initially, though, Skubal was prepared to let Max Fried start for the American League. But Fried was the one who was willing to defer the honor to Skubal. Fried spent the first eight years of his big-league career with the Braves before signing with the Yankees this offseason. Like Skubal, Fried is also having a great season. And given the emotional return to Atlanta, it would have made sense for Fried to start. That was when Fried personally reached out to Skubal. Fried was insistent that Skubal take the start, which he agreed to do. And then next day, Aaron Boone formally called to name Skubal the starter. Fried did end up withdrawing from the All-Star Game due to a blister, so Skubal would have gotten the start regardless. But still, it was a cool gesture from Fried to make that phone call. Skubal clearly appreciated it.
