‘Princess Diaries 3' team has been ‘castle shopping' in Europe

New York Post02-06-2025
Looks like the royal diary has still got some pages left to fill.
Disney's 'The Princess Diaries 3' is full steam ahead, The Post has learned. The creative team recently jetted to the Czech Republic to scout locations.
'Castle shopping,' a source close to the production said.

Plans for the sequel to 2004's 'The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement' were first revealed by The Hollywood Reporter in 2022.

The romantic-comedy series began in 2001, when Anne Hathaway, now an Oscar winner, broke out as Mia Thermopolis Renaldi, an unassuming San Francisco teen who learns she's the heiress to the throne of a fictional country called Genovia.
Her grandmother, the elegant queen dowager, was played by Julie Andrews.
In the second film, Mia went on the hunt for a husband.
Hathaway, 42, announced on Instagram last year that she'd return for the third entry in the franchise, which will be directed by Adele Lim, the co-writer of 'Crazy Rich Asians.'

But news has been quiet since.
The Post has reached out to Disney for comment.

It's unclear if Andrews, 89, will don the crown jewels again. Back in 2023, she told Forbes she's 'pretty much retired' from acting.

In the 21 years since 'Royal Engagement,' the 'Sound of Music' legend has mostly performed voiceover parts in films such as 'Shrek Forever After' and the 'Despicable Me' series and the Netflix TV show 'Bridgerton' as Lady Whistledown.
Chris Pine, who played Mia's love interest Nicholas in the second flick, has said he has no clue if he'll be involved or not.
'The first time I heard about it was on the internet when someone sent me a screenshot,' he admitted last year on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.'

Shooting on '3' in the Czech Republic would kick Genovia about 900 miles west. The stand-in palace used for 'Royal Engagement' was Longford Castle in Wiltshire, England.
The family movie's release date is still unknown, but miracles will happen again soon.

Prime Day Deal: Grab This Toniebox Audio Player for $80 Off to Make Your Kids' Bedtime Routine Easier

Whether it's getting the kids ready for bed or keeping them entertained while they're awake, there's nothing like a good story-time session. Toniebox is a screen-free audio player that allows kids to listen to stories and music without getting sucked into the vortex of a tablet or phone. And right now, thanks to Amazon Prime Day, you can pick up a Toniebox audio player starter kit for just $100. If you're curious about this unique addition to a kid's room or playroom, the low price is a great way to check it out. Your Toniebox starter kit includes the audio player and four lovable Disney characters -- Woody from Toy Story, Lightning McQueen from Cars, Simba from The Lion King and Winnie-the-Pooh. Each Tonie comes with one story (though Winnie-the-Pooh comes with three) plus some of the best songs from each Disney movie. The total run time for each Tonie is about 30 minutes. To activate the player, kids set a Tonie on top. They're super easy to swap out, and you can invest in other Tonies, choosing from a huge array of characters, including Disney Princesses, Paw Patrol characters or Dr. Seuss characters. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. The box is kid-friendly and durable, with two ears that act as volume controls. A single charge gets you up to seven hours of playtime. Suitable for ages 3 and up, Toniebox is controlled by swapping characters, tapping the box, and pressing the ears, making it interactive for kids. Why this deal matters Normally, this package with all four Disney characters and the Playtime Puppy would cost $180. While we've seen the Toniebox, including starter kits like this, drop down to $90 during bigger events like Black Friday, the $100 price is still a good deal if you have little kids in your household. It's only $10 more than the lowest price we've seen for this audioplayer. The same bundle is on sale at the Tonies site for $160, but the Amazon deal beats that by $60. We've been scouring Amazon's Prime Day event to find some great outdoor items to get you ready for better weather, plus a nice list of items under $25.

‘Jaws' doc director proclaims he never wants to see another sequel

He doesn't want any bigger boats. Laurent Bouzereau, director of the new National Geographic documentary 'Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story,' exclusively spoke to The Post about if he thinks there will be more sequels made to Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic. 'I hope not,' said Bouzereau, 63. 'You look at Mona Lisa and you go, 'Oh, will we ever see a copy of the same person seen by someone else?' I sure as hope not. So I apply the same thing to something as perfect as 'Jaws.'' 10 Laurent Bouzereau in his interview with The Post. New York Post Describing the iconic shark movie as 'a piece of art that stands the test of time,' Bouzereau said he thinks the film 'should be re-examined constantly or discovered even by new generations.' 'Which is in fact one of the goals of this documentary film is to get people to watch 'Jaws' again,' the French-American filmmaker added, 'or to watch it for the first time.' 10 A crew member works on the mechanical shark on the set of 'Jaws.' Courtesy of Universal Studios Licensing LLC 'Jaws,' based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel, was followed by three sequels that didn't involve Spielberg, 78, or Benchley. The new documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look at 'Jaws' with rare archival footage and interviews with conservationists and directors, including Spielberg himself. 'I was thrilled to be able to tell the story of a true masterpiece and a true auteur in Mr. Spielberg,' Bouzereau told The Post. 'And I found myself really rediscovering it in a way way that actually I had never suspected.' 10 Steven Spielberg and Laurent Bouzerea during an interview for 'Jaws @ 50.' National Geographic/Chris Johnson 'It is a love letter,' Bouzereau added about the doc, 'but I hope that it's also a very inspirational film for people who may never have seen 'Jaws,' because it's a story of persistence and perseverance and overcoming the odds and the triumph of the human spirit when you're faced with a situation like Steven was.' 10 Steven Spielberg on the set of 'Jaws.' Courtesy of Universal Studios Licensing LLC 10 Steven Spielberg on the set of 'Jaws.' Courtesy of Universal Studios Licensing LLC Bouzereau said it wasn't difficult to get famed directors James Cameron, J.J. Abrams, Guillermo del Toro, George Lucas, Jordan Peele, Robert Zemeckis and more to participate in the doc. 'People were really wanting to talk about 'Jaws.' The only thing that was in the way was my very, very fast production schedule,' he explained. 'Even though we didn't compromise over anything, those great directors are extremely busy and to match up with everybody's schedule is definitely a challenge.' 'However, the list was very carefully put together and had nothing to do really with the profile of the people as much as it had to do with what they represent in culture today and how great it is that from Jim Cameron to Guillermo del Toro to J.J., Jordan Peele, Bob Zemeckis, all of them own a part of 'Jaws' in a very unique and specific way,' Bouzereau added. 10 Laurent Bouzereau in his interview with The Post. Courtesy of Universal Studios Licensing LLC The filmmaker also spoke to how the success of 'Jaws' impacted the 'Star Wars' franchise, which debuted two years later. 'I think it does sort of continue what 'Jaws' has started as far as merchandising, for example,' said Bouzereau. 'I think there is a realization, although much more from George's point of view, because the studio didn't get the rights to all of the merchandising.' 10 People line up outside of the Rivoli Theater in New York City to see 'Jaws' in 1975. You are part of a movement of people who loved something and you want the world to know it,' he continued. 'And you want them to know that you're part of the culture and you belong in the 'Jaws' culture and you belong in the 'Star Wars' culture.' 'Jaws @ 50' premieres July 10 on National Geographic and will stream on Disney+ and Hulu.

Kevin Jonas 'Almost All' of His Money After Jonas Brothers Split

Kevin Jonas is getting real about life after the Jonas Brothers 2013 breakup—and how it might have affected his net worth. Speaking about his relationship to success, Kevin revealed that he lost 'almost all' his money as a result of bad business deals before the Jonas Brothers got back together in 2019. Kevin opened up about his financial history during an appearance on Lewis Howes' The School of Greatness podcast when asked about his relationship to success, money, and fame. 'I've seen the beginning of the success to financial success—not knowing what money really was and understanding it—to not having [it], to losing almost all of it,' he said, surprising Lewis. The JoBro didn't go into detail, but he did say that he lost 'almost all of' his money after the band broke up, about nine years ago. 'I invested in a bunch of property and doing other things and I was building at the time,' he said. 'Sadly it wasn't the right partnership, if you know what I'm saying.' Kevin added that there was a time he was 'down to the one 10 percent left' of his Disney/Jonas Brothers fortune. Granted, it's unclear what exactly that means, given he was in one of the biggest boy bands of the 2000s. But, it's still fair to say that losing all of that money must have been quite the shock to the system. In fact, Kevin added that his experience helped him approach the music business a little differently this time around. 'I look at our business as—we are like a start-up,' he said. And, just as a start-up is expected to release new products after making it big, the Jonas Brothers have also been pressured to make business decisions quickly. Now, Kevin says, he's learned to be more thoughtful about his decisions and not feel pressured to give answers right away. 'To take some time is okay, to make a decision,' he said. 'It's okay to not know.' If Kevin's side projects are any indication, it looks like he's also learned that there's nothing wrong with a little diversity in your portfolio. In the past few years, he's co-hosted a reality TV series, Claim to Fame, with his little brother, Frankie Jonas, and released two children's books with his wife, Danielle Jonas, all while recording new music with his brothers. Whatever decisions he's making, it seems like they're the right ones.
