China Urges End to Gaza War, Stresses Centrality of Palestinian Cause

China's Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian issue to the broader Middle East region, calling for an immediate end to the war on Gaza, according to Alqahera.
In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said: 'The Palestinian cause remains at the core of Middle East affairs,' underscoring Beijing's position on the need for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
The ministry also urged all relevant parties to cease hostilities in the Gaza Strip and return to dialogue as a path toward peace and stability in the region.
China has consistently called for the implementation of the two-state solution and the resumption of negotiations based on international law and United Nations resolutions.
Its latest remarks come amid mounting international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and ongoing calls for a ceasefire.

CAIRO, Aug 3 (MENA) – Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Minister Badr Abdelatty received a phone call on Sunday from his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis, as part of regular consultations between the two top diplomats, which aim to strengthen Egypt-Greece ties and exchange views on regional developments. They praised the historical and close relations between the two countries and welcomed the momentum in bilateral cooperation following the upgrade of ties to a strategic partnership in May, reaffirming their commitment to expanding collaboration in various fields. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's commitment to protecting religious sanctities and sacred places. The minister focused in particular on Saint Catherine's Monastery and preserving its spiritual and religious significance, stressing the importance of safeguarding the site and its related antiquities. The ministers also discussed the situation in the Middle East and the catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions in the war-devastated Gaza. Abdelatty briefed Gerapetritis on ongoing efforts to reach a permanent Gaza ceasefire, underlining the urgency of halting Palestinian bloodshed and ensuring the continuous flow of humanitarian aid into the enclave. On Libya, both sides stressed the importance of holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously as soon as possible. They also called for the dismantling of militias and the withdrawal of all foreign forces, foreign fighters, and mercenaries as a prerequisite for achieving security and stability in the country.

CAIRO, Aug 4 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated Egypt's firm support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Lebanon, and its categorical rejection of any violations that infringe on Lebanese sovereignty. During a phone call on Monday with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's support for Lebanon's national institutions and their efforts to maintain security and stability. Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed al-Shinawy said the call addressed ways to strengthen bilateral ties, with both leaders stressing their mutual keenness to enhance cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economic, trade, and investment fields, to meet the aspirations of the Egyptian and Lebanese peoples. Sisi underlined Egypt's readiness to assist the Lebanese government in reconstruction efforts. The call also reviewed regional developments and the importance of de-escalation across the region. The two leaders also discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip. They jointly stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, the cessation of Israeli aggression, the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, the release of hostages and detainees, and the swift launch of reconstruction efforts in Gaza. Both presidents reaffirmed the shared stance of Egypt and Lebanon in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state while rejecting any forced displacement of Palestinians from their land.
