918 Spyder Weissach and Carrera GT Headline Broad Arrow's 2025 Porsche Air
Broad Arrow Auctions has announced the final marquee entries for its second annual Porsche Air|Water Auction, taking place April 26 at the Orange County Fairgrounds. The event, held in partnership with the Air|Water Porsche gathering, will feature more than 55 collectible Porsche vehicles and 20 lots of rare memorabilia, offering a high-octane opportunity for marque enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Topping the list is a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach finished in White and adorned with the Martini Racing livery, one of only 15 delivered to the U.S. in that configuration. Estimated to fetch between $2.7 million and $3 million, the plug-in hybrid hypercar—limited to just 918 units worldwide—features a 6.2-liter V8 engine and dual electric motors producing a combined 887 horsepower. Equipped with the $84,000 Weissach Package, chassis No. 441 has fewer than 1,900 miles and is presented with full documentation, including its original build sheet and factory cover.
Joining the 918 is a pristine 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, a benchmark of analog supercars. Numbered 0541 and finished in GT Silver Metallic over Dark Grey leather, this example shows fewer than 800 original miles. Offered with rare delivery items such as its full luggage set, books, and tools, the Carrera GT is expected to bring between $1.8 million and $2.1 million.
'This pairing of the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder offers collectors a unique chance to acquire two of Porsche's most significant open-top performance cars,' said Alexander Weaver, Broad Arrow's Senior Car Specialist and VP of Private Sales. 'Both are exceptionally preserved examples with incredible provenance and minimal mileage.'
Also featured are other open-top highlights, including a Lava Orange 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster (est. $400,000–$450,000) and a near-new 2024 718 Spyder RS Weissach (est. $220,000–$250,000).
Additional notable consignments include a one-owner 1960 Porsche 356 B Super 90 Coupe with just under 50,000 miles, a Paint-to-Sample 1989 911 Speedster, a Japanese-market 1974 911 Carrera MFI Coupe, and a selection of rare water-cooled cars such as an award-winning 1981 928 and a 1986 944 Turbo.
Track-ready customer racers and modern classics round out the catalog, with entries like a 2003 GT3 RS campaigned by Orbit Racing and a 2021 911 GT3 Cup.
The full digital catalog is now live at BroadArrowAuctions.com. Public preview begins April 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, with the auction set for April 26 at 11 a.m. PT.

This Rendering Imagines a Modern Version of Classic Porsche 911s
This Rendering Imagines a Modern Version of Classic Porsche 911s originally appeared on Autoblog. The Porsche 911 is an iconic sports car, but part of that legacy is due to the fact that, in 2025, it still looks strikingly similar to the first 911s from the early 1960s. That said, today's cars are far larger and heavier than they once were, but a Ukrainian designer's recent Instagram renderings show us what could have happened if Porsche had stuck to the smaller, lighter format. Mykola Tarasenko's renderings don't turn the 911 into something unrecognizable. Instead, they reshape the car's front- and rear-end designs, giving it a more cropped, compact look. He kept the 911's signature round headlights and didn't change its basic proportions. Tarasenko also included the rear LED light bar from recent 911 models. The 911 S/T was the lightest car from the current generation, but it retains the larger size of its heavier counterparts. These are just fan renderings, so don't go getting excited about a huge shift in 911 design. The automaker offers a staggering number of configurations for the current car, and while they aren't the lightweight sports cars from decades past, it's hard to fault their performance. That said, Porsche executives have been clear that the company is in trouble, saying that it needs to take drastic measures to get back on track. The automaker has seen tumbling sales in China, leading it to an eight percent global drop in sales in the first quarter of 2025. At the same time, its first EV, the Taycan, hasn't been selling all that well, though the newer Macan EV received a reasonably warm welcome in North America. All of that could lead Porsche back to more extreme 911 variants, but that still won't lead us back to a stripped-down, back-to-basics model. European automakers face profitability squeeze in 2025: Fitch
European carmakers are expected to face a decline in profitability in 2025 due to the combined impact of global trade tensions, weakening demand in China, and the accelerating transition to electric vehicles (EVs), according to Fitch Ratings. Fitch said recently announced U.S. tariffs will have negative consequences for automotive production and sales, prompting manufacturers to reassess their global manufacturing strategies and cut fixed costs. Rising raw material prices and ongoing cost pressures from suppliers are expected to further strain margins. These developments add to Fitch's prior expectation of a low-single-digit decline in European vehicle sales. The credit rating agency warned that tariff risks are especially significant for companies exporting vehicles from Japan, Korea, and Germany to the U.S. Volkswagen is expected to be particularly affected, with its high-margin luxury brands — Audi and Porsche — likely to face pressure on free cash flow and rating headroom. Mercedes-Benz also faces downside risk, as its U.S. production hub for sport utility vehicles could be exposed to retaliatory Chinese tariffs. Fitch noted that while the burden of higher tariffs is likely to be shared between suppliers and automakers, the latter are expected to shoulder the larger share. Disruptions in production may also hit suppliers' cash flows, particularly those highly dependent on automaker volumes. Although a recently announced EU-U.S. trade agreement appears consistent with Fitch's expectations, details remain unclear and require approval from EU member states. Structural challenges also persist. European auto production remains 15%–20% below pre-pandemic levels and is unlikely to recover soon. Fitch attributes this to a slower-than-expected EV transition, growing foreign competition, and shifting consumer preferences. Carmakers like Volkswagen and Stellantis have begun rationalising operations through plant closures and layoffs, which will weigh on short-term cash generation. One-off restructuring costs are expected to amount to roughly 1% of median free cash flow. In China, German premium brands continue to lose market share to domestic players and are experiencing intensifying price competition — even in the typically more resilient premium segment. While some European automakers are partnering with Chinese firms in areas like autonomous driving and software to stem further losses, Fitch does not expect significant improvement in competitive positioning in the near term. On the EV front, Fitch expects European automakers to rebound from a sluggish 2024 with increased battery EV sales in 2025, driven by new model launches and competitive gains against non-EU rivals. However, this growth will come with tighter margins as Chinese brands expand their market presence and infrastructure in Europe. As a result of these pressures, Fitch said profitability and free cash flow generation declined in 2024 and will likely deteriorate further in 2025. The agency has issued Negative Outlooks and taken negative rating actions across the sector. Nevertheless, most investment-grade manufacturers retain solid balance sheets, supported by strong capital structures and net cash positions, which provide some buffer against ongoing challenges. Acura Can Catch Porsche in IMSA WeatherTech Manufacturer's Chase
Now that the others have won, look for a return to a less draconian BoP for the Ferrari 499P in the WEC and Porsche in IMSA. It remains to be seen if IMSA officials have in fact balanced the performance. Hopefully, there will be a straight fight for the manufacturer title between Porsche and Acura, which trails by 90 points. After two straight victories by the Acura MSR team in the WeatherTech Championship, the interregnum is over for the Porsche Penske Motorsport team. Having been hobbled by the Balance of Performance (BoP), the Porsche team will have a chance to stand atop the podium again on Sunday after the sprint race at Road America. Urs Keratle, the director for Porsche's 963 program, said that simulations have shown the team will 'be able to compete with the others. The reality we will see in qualifying and the race.' The subtraction of weight (nine kilograms) and a 5.2% increase in Stage 2 power for the Porsches in the BoP prior to Road America reflects the current sports car racing season's pattern in both the World Endurance Championship and IMSA. The best performing cars and their teams have been heavily penalized midway in the season by BoP to open the door to other manufacturers. Now that the others have won, look for a return to a less draconian BoP for the Ferrari 499P in the WEC and Porsche in IMSA. Cadillac and its Jota team won its first WEC race in Round 5 in Brazil, where officials made it very unlikely for the Ferraris, winners of four straight races, to compete for victory. IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Porsche 2,182 Acura 2,092 Cadillac 1,974 BMW 1,962 Aston Martin 1,439 In IMSA, each of the two Acuras entered by Jim Meyers and Michael Shank won in Detroit and Watkins Glen in part because of the BoP hampering the Porsches. Cadillac scored three podiums in those two events. Keratle suggested Porsche Penske was unable to control its own destiny. 'We are prepared to be competitive in the races if it's very well in our hands,' he said. Who stands atop the podium at Wisconsin's picturesque Elkhart Lake circuit and then celebrates at the Siebkens resort will have a significant impact on the driver and manufacturer championships for the IMSA GTP season, which has two endurance races remaining after the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix. It remains to be seen if IMSA officials have in fact balanced the performance and a straight fight for the manufacturer title will evolve between Porsche and Acura, which trails by 90 points. On the driver side, the four straight victories by Porsche Penske to open the season put its drivers in an almost unassailable position. Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet, drivers of the No. 6 Porsche 963, lead teammates Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr by 12 points after the latter two's poor result at the Glen. Acura MSR drivers Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, winners in Detroit, trail the Porsche drivers by 262 points in third place. There's more to come in the manufacturers' contest after the Glen victory, said David Salters, president of Honda Racing Corporation USA. The combination of the Meyers-Shank team and engineers from the HRC factory is beginning to pay dividends. Along with driver Tom Blomqvist, they successfully executed a challenging fuel strategy to grab the victory at the Glen from the Cadillac of Action Express Racing before celebrating at the Seneca Lodge. 'We are six races into the season and we're starting to show what we're made of,' said Salters. 'It was a great weekend, but we must keep pushing.' The Acura MSR squad gained 112 points in the factory title chase with its victories. The team likely needs to win at least two of the three remaining races to overcome the 90-point gap to Porsche Penske. Where Porsche Penske has no team orders, Acura MSR can employ split strategies and concentrate on just getting one car into Victory Lane. Blomqvist, who co-drove with Colin Braun on board the No. 60 ARX-06 at the Glen, is reconciled to his team now concentrating on the manufacturers title. 'We still stand a chance in the manufacturers, which is definitely a big goal of Acura's,' said Blomqvist. 'So, we haven't given up there, having won the last two events. Obviously, only one of the team's cars gets points for that. I think ultimately that's probably what we're going to focus on more than the drivers' title. Let's see.'
