Bridgerton star Simone Ashley: I feel ‘safe and comfortable' filming sex scenes

The Sex Education actor, who is about to release her debut album, described hit Netflix show Bridgerton as 'fantasy'.
She told Harper's Bazaar: 'It's about, 'What if?' and how love conquers all.
'Bridgerton represents nudity with a sense of romance, and I felt very safe and comfortable in what I was choosing to show to the world.'
The fourth season of the regency era drama series is due to be released next year, with Simone telling the magazine: ''That show just gets bigger and bigger.
'Everyone has gone off to do incredible things, but we come back and it's like time hasn't moved.'
She also spoke of moving to Los Angeles by herself when she was just 18, adding: 'I was really scrappy.
'Since I was little, if I wanted something, I would do anything I could to get it. So, I took some modelling jobs to pay the bills and got into acting through that.'
Ashley, who appears on the digital cover of the magazine, said her album was made following a recent break-up.
She said: 'It's going to be somewhat confessional … and beautiful and messy.
'Good songs don't come from times when my life is regimented and predictable.
'They come when I am feeling vitality, and usually you either feel that way when your heart's broken, or you're euphoric.
'This work has been an amazing channel to put all those feelings into.'

This Morning star reveals terrifying moment she blacked out on boozy night out as she sends warning to fans

The 38-year-old says she feels very lucky because she wasn't mugged or sexually assaulted, but is now extra careful with her drinks on nights out. "When I woke up I was in my brother's halls with my brother. 'I'd been sick everywhere and I actually didn't remember anything that happened. But luckily I was with my brother and his friends. 'They teased me that I couldn't handle my drink because I was the younger sister that had gone to visit my brother, but I didn't feel like that. Advertisement 'My reaction and how sick I was, was not in proportion to what I drank in that situation.' She continues: 'Had it happened now, my brother or me or his friends could have tested my drinks. 'If I had been spiked, there was no mugging or sexual assault. But the next person might not be so lucky, because I imagine a lot of these people that try to spike people's drinks don't just do it once - and if they fail, they don't stop doing it.' Like many people, Ashley didn't tell anyone about her concerns - according to a new survey by CounterSpike only 11% of spiking victims reported it to the police. Advertisement Now, Ashley is helping to promote SpikeStixx - a spiking test kit that enables people to test their drinks on a night out and get instant results. 'It's literally the same size as my lipstick, so you can put it in your bag, no matter how tiny and impractical your bag is - as mine always is,' says Ashley. Trolls said I'd 'let myself go' after kids - but I love my body more now than when I was super slim, says Ashley James 'Ever since I started going out properly, spiking's always been that sort of invisible threat or thing that we have to worry about.' DJ and TV star Ashley first rose to fame during her short stint on Made In Chelsea - she now uses her voice to talk about what's important to her. Advertisement She often speaks out about double standards for men and women - and refuses to cover up her boobs because other people choose to hypersexualize them. 'I definitely feel like I've got to a point where I realise that there shouldn't be a moral attachment to the clothes that we wear,' she tells us. 'And actually, we see that, even if you're looking at spiking. But any form of sexual violence, it doesn't just happen because of what we wear. 'I find specifically, the hypersexualization of boobs quite frustrating. I don't deserve to be judged and especially not my morals or sexuality questioned based on my body." Advertisement She adds: 'I certainly don't think that my body is any more shameful than anyone else's and I think time and time again, we see that it doesn't matter what we wear. 'People are spiking drinks, not because of what we're wearing. People are hurting and killing women, not because of the clothes that they are wearing. It's because those people are bad people who want to harm women.' Despite any concerns Ashley might have on a night out, the mum-of-two is planning to keep on partying for a long time to come. She says: 'I love socialising. I'm such an extrovert and I'm a DJ as well. So I'm always out and about in various different environments where there's drinks. I've got a really good group of friends in the industry and I feel like I'll never slow down - I'm just a bit more tired.' 6 The mum-of-two is refusing to let other people hypersexualize her body Credit: Instagram/ashleylouisejames 6 Ashley regularly appears on This Morning and speaks about hard-hitting topics Credit: Rex 6 Despite any spiking worries, Ashley will continue to socialise and party Credit: Getty Advertisement

BBC thriller that fans hailed 'perfect' soars up Netflix top 10 chart

If this week showed anything, it's that sometimes summer is best seen and not felt. Who needs to feel their body find the internal temperature of an oven, when you can just watch people in a TV show experience it instead? Despite what the title of A Good Girl's Guide To Murder suggests, it has more than just the thrills of a murder mystery (although it does still have that). The BBC show turned Netflix sleeper hit has the bottled up feel of summer to boot. The six-parter is based on Holly Jackson's YA trilogy of the same name, which was so popular among the BookTokkers that it led to last year's adaptation. Starring Wednesday's Emma Myers with a very different look to her chipper Enid, the detective on the case here is the dogged (and sometimes dodgy-accented) Pip Fitz-Amobi. In the summer holidays before entering her last year of school, Pip decides to use her A-Level extended project to investigate an unsolved case in the rural town of Little Kilton: the disappearance of schoolmate Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies) five years ago. But did he really? Pip enlists his younger brother Ravi (Zain Iqbal) to help find out, because every detective needs a sidekick (and love interest). Better yet for those who are only just finding A Good Girl's Guide to Murder now, the show is filming six new episodes for a second season. When the BBC and Netflix co-production renewal was announced, author Holly Jackson said she was 'beyond thrilled' to continue Pip's story and shared that she will be part of the writers' room for the second season. Senior TV Reporter Rebecca Cook shares her take… On the vibes front this has it all: a sleepy English town you'll want to move to, a banging soundtrack (Wet Leg, AWOLNATION) and boundless summer activities. Yes, there's the murder-suicide conspiracy bubbling away, but it's a bit too silly to be taken overly seriously. The cast of mostly unknown young'uns are balanced out with the acting experience of their older counterparts: Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle and Mathew Baynton. If you can suspend your belief for this suspended summer, you'll come away happy you did. The first season has a 83% rating on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, after viewers wrote about planning to watch the series 'six times' because it's 'perfect'. More Trending Account Chicken F raved: 'This lived up to, if not, surpassed my expectations. It hasn't even been out for a week and I've already watched the series through six times. 'I highly recommend this series, it is the perfect Mystery/Thriller to watch if you've got a spare weekend.' Echoing their sentiment, Sayan C enthused: 'The series is excellent and everything was nailed to perfection. THE has perfect suspense and thrill I would 100% recommend to binge this series.' New true crime show on Netflix is 'must-watch' series about tragic event

Netflix has added a new true crime series to its collection that has been described as 'essential viewing' and 'a shocking documentary that everyone's got to see' Netflix has released a gripping new true crime documentary, hailed as 'essential viewing' and available for a limited time only. The platform, renowned for its compelling documentaries, is kicking off the month with fresh additions to its library, including a series that's bound to have viewers glued to their screens. The four-part series, Attack on London: Hunting the 7/7 Bombers, revisits the harrowing terror attacks on London's transport system two decades ago, featuring first-hand accounts and previously unseen footage. It delves into the tragic events of July 7, 2005, when four suicide bombers launched an attack on the capital's transport network, resulting in the deaths of 52 people and injuries to more than 770 others. ‌ The British Transport Police (BTP) revealed at the time that three explosions occurred on the London Underground around 8.50am near Aldgate, Edgware Road, and Russell Square stations. ‌ A fourth bomb detonated at 9.47am aboard a bus rerouted through Tavistock Square, close to the BTP's headquarters at the time. Luke Eccleston, a movie and TV content creator, took to TikTok to recommend Attack on London: Hunting the 7/7 Bombers to his followers. He urged: "Stop whatever you're doing because Netflix have just dropped a brand new four-part limited series, and trust me when I say that this is an essential viewing. It's a shocking documentary that everyone's got to see." Luke shared insights into the intense Netflix documentary, detailing the harrowing terror attacks and subsequent investigation, featuring interviews with survivors and the prime minister at the time, Tony Blair. The TV fan praised the streaming giant's work, saying: "Now, Netflix have done such a good job with this documentary, as it's such a great and serious documentary where it [doesn't just] delve into the actual original attacks, but [an incident] two weeks later [when] an innocent man was shot. ‌ "It's genuinely heartbreaking to see what happened and how it genuinely shocked London so please make sure you get this on your watch list." The tragic case of Jean Charles de Menezes - the 27-year-old misidentified as a terrorist involved in a failed attack later that month and fatally shot by police at Stockwell Underground station - is also covered in the documentary. The perpetrators of the 7/7 bombings were eventually identified as Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Hasib Hussain, and Germaine Lindsay. Luke's TikTok followers echoed his recommendation, with comments pouring in about the documentary. One viewer commented: "Great doc, binged it all already." Another recommended it as a "must watch Netflix series." A third shared: "Watched the first two parts and great watch so far. Awful seeing what happened."
