Mumbai: School security guard arrested for raping minor boys
According to the police, the incident occurred a month ago when the students were leaving the school premises and the two boys, aged 15 and 17, were walking towards the gate at 6 pm when the guard stopped them, took them to the canteen's washroom and allegedly sexually assaulted them. The incident came to light on Saturday when the boys told a teacher about the assault, who informed the school authorities and the boys' parents, after which a complaint was filed with the Arnala police.
The accused was the security guard, in charge of locking the school after the students and teachers had left, said a police officer.
Suhas Bavche, deputy commissioner of police (Virar), said that the police are investigating whether the accused had sexually assaulted any other students in the past.
The accused has been booked for rape under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He will be produced before the court on Monday, said a police officer.

Two days after a convoy of 22 cars brought traffic to a halt in Gurugram's Sector 108 during a stunt meant for social media reels, police on Tuesday arrested three suspects and seized three vehicles in connection with the case. Their act was a sheer case of hooliganism,' said Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer (PRO) of Gurugram police. He added that other suspects, seen in the video standing on a Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG while filming reels, are yet to be arrested. The viral video, originally uploaded by a local resident on social media and tagged to the Gurugram Police, helped identify the vehicles and prompted the registration of an FIR. The footage showed participants standing on car footrests, emerging from sunroofs, and playing illegal sirens and flashers. Kumar said the incident took place at a traffic signal on the road connecting Sector-108 to Dwarka Expressway. 'After tracing the location of the incident, an FIR was registered against unidentified suspects under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including endangering public life, rash driving, and obstruction of public way, at Rajendra Park police station on Monday,' he said adding that the Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG is also traced and will be seized soon. The police used CCTV footage to identify the vehicles and arrest three of the accused. 'We have got the details of the prime suspects involved in the incident from the arrested accused. They will be arrested soon,' Kumar added. In the video, a Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG convertible leads the convoy, with three suspects standing on its seats, while others are seen cheering, stepping out of sunroofs, and standing on footrests. The convoy brought traffic to a halt, disturbing both commuters and residents.

Six arrested in Kolhewadi open firing case
In a swift response to an open firing incident in Kolhewadi on Monday evening, the Nanded City police arrested six individuals allegedly involved in the case. The accused allegedly fired three rounds into the air following heated arguments amongst themselves, creating panic among the residents, although no casualties were reported. (REPRESENTATIVE PIC) The accused have been identified as Sahil Chavan (24) from Khadakwasla, Abhijit Chavan (32) from Kolhawadi, and Prashant Chavan (34), Akash Chavan (24), Gitesh Jadhav (20) and Mandar Chavan (39) from Khadakwasla. According to the police, the firing occurred near a chowk in a densely-populated area. The accused allegedly fired three rounds into the air following heated arguments amongst themselves, creating panic among the residents, although no casualties were reported. On being alerted, the police arrived at the spot and launched a search operation. By late evening on Monday, police got information about the whereabouts of the accused and arrested all of them. During interrogation, the accused told police that a minor argument about a vehicle damage turned into a major fight, with all of them hurling abuses at each other. In the midst of it all, they fired three rounds in the air and after no cartridges were left, used the pistols to assault each other. The police have so far seized a country-made pistol used in the crime. Atul Bhos, senior inspector from Nanded City Police Station, confirmed that a case has been registered under sections 118(1), 189(2),189(4),190, 191(2), 351(2) (3), 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 3, 25, 27 of the Arms Act. 'We are investigating from where they had procured weapons and finding out the backward links related to the case,' he said.
