Tilda Swinton attended a performance of Dropped at Hibernian FC's Easter Road stadium on Saturday night as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The Oscar-winning actress, 64, arrived with five guests and sat front row at the Behind the Goals venue in the North Stand, where the one-man show is being staged throughout the week.
Written and performed by former Chelsea academy player Alfie Cain, Dropped explores the mental health impact on young footballers who fail to secure professional contracts.
Only 1% of academy players go pro, while thousands are released each year with limited support.
Known for their roles in Michael Clayton and The Chronicles of Narnia, Tilda appeared fully engaged during the emotional 60-minute performance, which left some fans in tears.
An insider at the venue said they 'appeared relaxed and engaged' throughout the performance.
Tilda showed off their quirky sense of style for the outing, opting for a pair of cropped brown trousers, which they paired with a Charles Jeffrey Loverboy patchwork detail shirt, which retails for over £600.
Their trademark blonde pixie cut was swept back and the look was finished with some black sandals.
It is the first time a professional football club has hosted a play as part of the Fringe.
Alfie said: 'At this time of year around 4,000 trainees will be dropped across the UK. Many of them have spent nine years or more working towards one goal, only to be told in a brief conversation that their dream is over.'
The play also highlights serious issues within the academy system, including cases of abuse and the long-term impact on mental health.
It references the 2020 death of 18-year-old Manchester City trainee Jeremy Wisten, who took his own life after being released.
A spokesperson for the club said: 'Hosting Dropped is a statement of our commitment to player welfare beyond the pitch. We aim to prepare our young athletes for life, not just football.'
Alfie added that performing the show at Easter Road was 'a dream come true,' saying: 'When I was a kid, I dreamed of playing at Easter Road. Now, I get to perform there instead.'
Dropped runs from 2–9 August at Hibernian FC's Easter Road Stadium. Tickets available via edfringe.com.
It comes after the young cousin of Tilda Swinton made a return to the small screen last month in the third season of the US drama And Just Like That - the spin-off of Sex in the City.
Alexa Swinton bagged the role as the daughter of Charlotte York, played by Kristin Davis, and joined the HBO Max show And Just Like That... as a 12-year-old in 2021.
New York-born Alexa has Canadian, Scottish and Russian-Jewish heritage and is a distant cousin of Scots actress Tilda.
In the original Sex and the City series, Charlotte York had two daughters, Lily and Rose, with Alexa cast as the latter when the spin-off first hit the screens four years ago.
In the latest instalment, her role has evolved into playing the part of a non-binary teen, Rock.
On Friday The Daily Mail reported that And Just Like That...will end after three seasons, following years of fan backlash.
The show - which saw Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprise their SATC roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York - will wrap up the two part finale, showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed.

Fans are convinced they know who Jamie Vardy's next club will be after his wife Rebekah's latest social media post

Rebekah Vardy has set the internet ablaze with speculation over her husband Jamie's next club after a playful social media post on Tuesday. The Leicester City legend drew the curtains on his 13-year chapter with the Foxes earlier this summer, after announcing his departure as a free agent. But with less than four weeks remaining before the start of the top-flight season in England, and even less before the resumption of the Football League, the 38-year-old remains without a club. However, fans are now convinced of the striker's next move after his wife Rebekah posted an image of three of their children wearing each of Inter Miami's kits on Instagram. The WAG accompanied the playful post with a 'smiling face with sunglasses' emoji. Rebekah's post has many convinced that the England international is set to join a star-studded roster led by Lionel Messi, that includes his former Barcelona team-mates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, as well as his Argentina colleague Rodrigo De Paul. But a source close to the club has poured cold water on the possibility, telling Daily Mail there is 'absolutely no way' Vardy is joining the MLS outfit. 'No one at inter Miami will have heard of him, they just signed Rodrigo de Paul who won the World Cup with Argentina,' they added. 'It was nice of them to buy the kits though.' While Vardy's next club is yet to be determined, the Foxes legend has been spotted enjoying his time away from the field this summer. Last month, he and Rebekah joined by his footballing pals Harry Maguire and James Maddison on a getaway to Portugal. Rebekah took to Instagram on to share a glimpse of her lavish holiday as she posed up a storm in a coral, strapless, two-piece. The couple took the time to enjoy a few weeks at their £9.7million villa in the Algarve. They've been joined by the England striker's former teammates, including Manchester United captain Maguire, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Maddison and also Andy King, who used to play for Wales and is now a coach at the trio's old club. Sharing more holiday pictures, Rebekah showed off her incredible figure last week in a skimpy bikini while larking around on a boat with a pal. She flaunted her toned frame in the swimwear while posing up a storm for a photo posted on social media, with her friend Grant Wheelhouse quick to poke fun at her antics.

Hugh Laurie and Matthew Macfadyen star in new Harry Potter audiobooks

Hugh Laurie is to follow in the footsteps of his former comedy partner Sir Stephen Fry by appearing in a new Harry Potter audiobook series. Laurie, who collaborated with Sir Stephen on the long-running sketch show A Bit of Fry & Laurie, is part of a 200-person cast lending their voices to a new Audible series based on JK Rowling's novels. The actor and comedian said he was 'honoured' to be chosen to portray Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, in the series, Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions. In June, Sir Stephen – who narrated all seven of the original Harry Potter audiobooks – publicly criticised JK Rowling for her gender critical views, claiming she has been 'radicalised' and is 'a lost cause'. Laurie, now best known for his role in the US medical drama House, said: 'I'm also deeply conscious of previous drivers Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, Jude Law, and the iconic narrations by Jim Dale [who voiced the US audiobooks of the Potter series] and m'colleague Sir Stephen Fry. 'Just below the horizon, but headed our way, is the rough beast John Lithgow [who will play Dumbledore in the new HBO TV series], his hour come round at last. This is great company, and it's a privilege to be among their number.' The new audio series will also star Matthew Macfadyen, who won Emmy awards in 2022 and 2023 for his role in the television series Succession, as Lord Voldemort. Riz Ahmed, the multiple award-winning actor and rapper, plays Prof Severus Snape, and Michelle Gomez, the Scottish actress who played Missy in Doctor Who, plays Prof Minerva McGonagall. Rachel Ghiazza, the chief content officer at Audible, said: 'Magic is coming alive as these brilliant actors lift iconic characters off the page and into our ears. 'Hearing these spellbinding performances in our state-of-the-art studios has been nothing short of extraordinary.' 'New series will reignite the magic' She added that the series would be released in the autumn and promised that it would 'reignite the magic for long-time fans and captivate a whole new generation of listeners'. Newcomers Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton will play Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger respectively in audiobooks one, two and three. Stanton, who previously played Matilda in the West End production of Matilda The Musical, will also play Hermione in HBO's new series. The three friends will be voiced by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis from book four to the end. The first of the seven full-cast audiobooks, Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, will be released by Audible on Nov 4 followed by Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets on Dec 16. The remaining books will be released in the new year. Additional cast members will be announced this autumn.
