Viral 'super' serum that 'blurs wrinkles' cut to lowest ever price on Amazon

Daily Record04-06-2025
This powerhouse serum was once dubbed 'the cult beauty product of 2024.'
The world of skincare is bigger than ever these days. Whether it be wrinkles, pigmentation or anti-ageing, we all have the areas we'd like to target more than others.
Looking to target multiple in one go? Then enter the Olay Super Serum, the first of its kind, as it offers five different skincare benefits in just one bottle - and it's at its cheapest ever price on Amazon.
The beauty brand's "miracle" serum first made waves when it debuted in the USA in 2023. After officially going available in the UK last year, it quickly earned the title as "the cult beauty product of 2024."
While it's certainly popular, it can be quite pricey at £39.99 for a small 30ml bottle. Fortunately, Amazon has knocked 55 percent off the price, taking it to just £18.14, the cheapest it has ever been available to buy for.
Not only is this the cheapest price we have spotted Amazon selling it for, as it's currently the lowest price on the entire high street, with Boots and Superdrug stocking it at full-price, while Ocado has it for £20.
A unique addition to the skincare market, this powerhouse serum has been infused with the five ingredients - niacinamide, vitamin C, collagen peptides, vitamin E and AHA lactic acid.
This means that it provides five benefits in just one bottle that include brightening, firming, toning, hydrating and much more. Considering it's the only serum on the market to do so, it's understandable why it's still hugely popular.
It boasts a colour-changing soft purple iridescence, providing the skin with that 'barely-there' natural radiance. It's so popular that the brand claims that it "quickly became a viral sensation, with one bottle sold every minute."
While no other option on the market offers as many benefits in one bottle, the popular L'Oréal Paris Age Perfect Serum Le Duo (30ml), £37.99 at Boots, harnesses the power of two serums to target firmness, wrinkles and radiance.
Meanwhile, celebrity-backed brand Medik8 has just launched its brand new C-Tetra Advanced (30ml), a brightening and anti-ageing serum that boasts vitamin C, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid for £69.
Skincare enthusiasts will be all too aware of the reputation the Olay Super Serum has managed to garner over the past year, as it has earned a 4.4 rating from users who say it is a "minor miracle" and that it works "like magic".

A positive review read: "Lovely product. I started using it after a summer break in the sun. My skin feels hydrated and the wrinkles appear blurred. It seems to have helped reduce sun spots too."
A second skincare buff wrote: "Feels great on my skin. Easily absorbed. My skin looks fresher and evenly toned. Lines appear smoother too. Will buy again."
Beauty deal of the week
It's almost Father's Day, and are you in need of some gift inspiration?
If you don't want to buy a last minute gift, then we have you covered, as a bottle of aftershave is always a good shout and Debenhams has just cut the Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Eau De Toilette from £92 to just £55.20 for a large 100ml bottle.
There is also a smaller 60ml bottle that is a bit cheaper, with the price being reduced by 37 per cent from £68 to £43. Since reviews say it "stands out from the crowd", it's a deal worth bagging for dad.
Launched in 2006, this YSL fragrance has been described as "a fragrance for the urban and charismatic 21st century male". For the guy in your life who likes to smell a little different, then this is the bottle to reach for.
It opens on sparkling notes of bergamot, zesty cedarwood and Chinese ginger that has been met with the middle notes of violet leaves and basil flowers, offering a floral and spicy contrast.
It is said to end on base notes of sandalwood, Virginia cedar wood and Haitian vetiver to "highlight this charismatic and magnetic fragrance."
Those who want to stand out from the crowd will appreciate the YSL L'Homme Eau De Toilette, as it has earned a 4.7 rating from Debenhams fragrance buffs who have said it is "unusual" and "always gets compliments."
One positive review read: "An unusual and outstanding men's perfume! What an interesting fresh yet a hint of spice men's perfume! It's different. Stands out from the crowd.

Someone else praised: "What a wonderful product! Olay have [created] a minor miracle with this serum. My skin feels amazing after using this as you don't need to use too much either as so good."
Not everyone found it worked for their skin, as one three-star review read: "I didn't really like this serum as I felt it left my skin feeling quite dry, not what I expected it to do."
Although, another positive review read: "This stuff is like magic. It makes your skin so soft! I'm not a girly girl, I don't use tons of make up, I'm not incredibly interested in skin care - but ONE experience with this stuff and I'm never living without it. It instantly absorbs and makes you feel at your best. I've even had compliments when wearing it. Id recommend this to everyone!"
Buy Olay's Super Serum (30ml) at its cheapest ever price, £18.14, on Amazon here.

Amazon Prime price hike is coming... as experts predict how much your bill will increase by and when

Experts predict shoppers could see a $20 spike in Amazon Prime memberships. JP Morgan analyst Douglas Anmuth found that Amazon customers may need to pay $159 instead of the usual $139 annually for a Prime membership starting next year. 'A $20 U.S. Prime price increase is seen driving about $3 billion in incremental annualized net sales,' according to a note via TheStreet. The numbers come from Anmuth's estimated value of a Prime subscription, which came out to $1,430 per year. He did not clarify whether price hikes from tariffs were taken into account. According to the analyst, the new total was a 6 percent jump compared to last year's price tag and more than double the value compared to the 2016 membership cost. The prediction is also based on Amazon's pattern of raising prices on significant features every four years. Besides the price changes, J.P. Morgan expects around 350 million shoppers will have Prime memberships this year. The prediction comes following Amazon's Prime Day event preparations, which will be a four-day sale instead of the usual two. Amazon Prime has been going strong for 20 years despite price hikes, leaving shoppers threatening to delete their accounts. Customers were furious in 2018 once the company raised its monthly plan to $12.99 from $10.99. The company's membership fee grew again in 2022 to $14.99, amounting to a $139 annual cost. Prices have stayed put ever since, but the company has opted to make other Prime changes that have also left shoppers threatening to cancel their memberships. This year's backlash started up by streamers slamming an 'unbearable' Prime update, a greater number of ads the company warned its members about last year. It worsened after the company axed its Try Before You Buy service a month after discontinuing same-day delivery from select stores, and hiked the price of its Amazon Music Unlimited ad-free subscription program. Amazon's decision to cut jobs in favor of Artificial Intelligence hasn't won the hearts of customers either. Although the company has had a habit of infuriating members, things could be looking up now that Amazon is expanding its same-day and next-day delivery services to over 4,000 small cities, towns, and rural communities in the US. Amazon faced backlash from Prime members multiple times this year over unfavorable changes The fury over the elimination of perks that lured in customers didn't stop the company from having a successful first quarter. Its net sales increased 9 percent to $155.7 billion, while its operating income increased to $18.4 billion from last year's first quarter total of $15.3 billion. Around 220 million shoppers worldwide have Amazon Prime memberships, with about 180 million being in the US. The company expects to gain more members this year, and retail expert Neil Saunders revealed that with a potential higher membership price could come more benefits. 'Amazon's whole manta on Prime is to ensure it delivers fantastic value for money. This means the benefits have to outweigh the cost, which they currently do,' Saunders told 'A price rise would not be something Amazon does lightly as it would disrupt the value equation. That said, there is some scope for higher Prime fees as Amazon has added a lot more benefits to Prime over recent years.' While Amazon has not confirmed if it will raise prices next year, it has launched early Prime Day offers, including a three-month trial of Audible for $0.99.

WhatsApp plans to allow businesses to send voice notes to users

Meta Platforms plans to allow businesses to send WhatsApp voice notes to users as it introduces adverts on the messaging app to boost revenue. Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta, unveiled tools designed to help businesses communicate with WhatsApp's three billion global users at a company event in Miami on Tuesday. The WhatsApp business app was first launched in 2018. It allows businesses to pay to reach customers on the app who have agreed to receive direct messages from them. WhatsApp has also been making money from the messaging app with ads on Facebook that allow users to click to open a WhatsApp chat and have a conversation with the business. • WhatsApp will start featuring ads. Here's what it means for you Meta said on Tuesday that it is introducing an ability for users to call large businesses on WhatsApp or ask them to call back, with the ability to continue a conversation via messaging after the call. Businesses will also be able to send voice notes to customers in 'the near future' and conduct video calls, according to Nikila Srinivasan, Meta's vice-president of business messaging. Last month Meta announced it was introducing ads inside the WhatsApp messaging service for the first time. While users will not see adverts when using WhatsApp chat, if they select the 'Updates' tab on the app, they will access business adverts. Users on the tab can select 'Channels' to follow that are run by brands and celebrities which can post to their group of followers. Advertisers can pay to promote their WhatsApp channel within the Updates tab. The tab also includes 'Status', WhatsApp's disappearing 'Stories', which will carry ads. Srinivasan said: 'WhatsApp is an app that is used by three billion users. It's very much a part of their everyday lives. They have not previously been able to discover a new business right on WhatsApp. 'So as a business, to me, that is an incredible value proposition. This, in fact, is something I've heard personally over time from a lot of businesses who want to be discovered on WhatsApp. That's really where people are today, and that's where they want to engage.' Srinivasan said advertisers and WhatsApp would not have access to information from users' private messages or calls. She said: 'Your personal messages, calls and statuses will remain end-to-end encrypted and no one, not even WhatsApp, will be able to see them.' If a user has chosen to link their Meta account to WhatsApp, they will receive 'more relevant information and ads', she said. Meta is introducing an 'Ads Manager' which allows businesses to organise their WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns in one place. Meta said it would use artificial intelligence to deliver messages to the customers who are most likely to be interested. Meta bought WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014. It is under pressure to boost advertising revenues to support its aggressive investment in generative AI. The company said it was introducing business AI agents in Mexico and the Philippines before launching them globally. It is testing business AI with a group of companies in the US. Zuckerberg said: 'In the next few years I expect that just like every business today has an email address, social media account and website, they're also going to have an AI business agent. 'You're going to be able to leverage all of the content that already exists on your Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp profiles to easily create these agents, making them a true extension of your team.'

Council services begin to be restored following cyber attack

Glasgow City Council has said that some services are beginning to be restored following a cyber attack over a week ago. The local authority was alerted to malicious activity on servers managed by a third-party supplier on June 19 A number of affected servers were taken offline, leaving several services unavailable, including planning applications, paying parking or bus lane fines, and ordering certificates. Household schedules for bin collections, permits, and complaints have also been impacted. The council issued a warning on Friday relating to scam text messages, directing recipients to pay outstanding parking fines online. The suspicious messages, while not mentioning Glasgow or any other location, have been received by at least some people in the city and elsewhere in the city region. The council said it had restored the first of two services on Tuesday – Strathclyde Pension Fund, which supports pensions, and public Freedom of Information requests. It was previously confirmed that no financial systems have been affected, and no details of bank accounts or credit/debit cards processed by those systems have been compromised. The council said that joint investigations with Police Scotland, the Scottish Cyber Coordination Centre (SC3), and the National Cyber Security Centre have not found any evidence of any stolen data, as cybersecurity investigations continue. Security specialists previously confirmed that the incident was not caused by email, and that email communication with the council remains safe. North Lanarkshire Council and East Dunbartonshire Council are also both impacted by the cyber incident, as they both use Glasgow City Council's payment portal for parking fines and appeals. A Glasgow City Council spokesperson said: 'Early in the morning of Thursday, June 19, 2025, our ICT supplier CGI discovered malicious activity on servers managed by a third-party supplier. 'We acted quickly to isolate these servers, protecting our wider network – but taking them offline has disrupted a number of our day-to-day digital and online services. 'We are conducting an investigation into the incident, alongside Police Scotland, the Scottish Cyber Coordination Centre (SC3) and the National Cyber Security Centre. 'In parallel, we are working to recover the services that have been taken offline on new servers, when it is safe to do so. 'The first two services to be restored, which support pensions and public Freedom of Information requests, came back online today. 'We are sorry that this incident will have caused real anxiety to people who have used our online services – and frustration for those unable to access those services now.'
