Despite being the son of Bollywood icons Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, the actor shared that his journey to his debut in Bollywood was fraught with refusals. "I didn't understand then, but I understood when I signed 'Refugee'," he said in an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit. His first film, 'Refugee,' directed by JP Dutta, also marked the debut of Kareena Kapoor Khan in recalled that initially, the filmmakers were apprehensive about launching him due to his father's immense legacy. "They were like, 'We don't want the responsibility of launching Amitabh Bachchan's son.' I didn't get that," he said. He realised later that the pressure and expectations associated with his surname were daunting for many directors. "He's such an immense figure that people have so much love and respect for," he went on his experience, Bachchan expressed how disheartening it was to face rejection, especially when he was young and eager. "I get it, but when you are so young and are like 'I'm ready, but no, really? Okay.' You feel bad," he admitted. However, he acknowledged that many actors face greater struggles. "It's very disheartening, as any actor will tell you - not just me." Junior Bachchan recalled the enthusiasm of his early twenties, when he was preparing to enter the film industry. "When you're 21 years old and filled with exuberance and zest, and you know the chatter that you keep hearing around you, 'He's gonna become an actor.' Oh, it's a big deal."
