Red Star submit €4m offer for Rennes' Glen Kamara

Glen Kamara (29) is the subject of a bid from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, according to a report from L'Équipe.
The Finland international struggled following his €10m move from Leeds United, making 13 Ligue 1 appearances in the first half of the season. However, he failed to impress and was sent out on loan to Al-Shabab during the January transfer window.

That loan deal included a buy option, however, that option was not exercised by the Saudi club, and he has therefore returned to Brittany. However, the Finland international will not remain there for long. He is one of several players that Rennes are looking to offload.
Kamara has attracted interest from Turkey, however, it is Serbian club Red Star Belgrade who have now made a concrete approach. That bid is worth €4m. Les Rennais are looking for a fee between €5-6m. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.

Djokovic wary despite Wimbledon form, dominant Sinner faces Dimitrov

Novak Djokovic and world number one Jannik Sinner face their stiffest tests of the tournament on Monday as they aim to take another step towards a blockbuster semi-final face-off at Wimbledon. Djokovic, who has a record 25th Gland Slam singles title in his sights, meets Australia's Alex de Minaur while Sinner faces the talented Grigor Dimitrov. Advertisement Five-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek is the main attraction in a wide-open side of the women's draw as she takes on Clara Tauson. 'Complete' De Minaur concerns Djokovic Djokovic was in supreme form as he demolished compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 to the delight of his seven-year-old daughter Tara, who enjoyed a post-match celebratory dance with her dad. But the seven-time champion is wary of the threat that lies ahead of him in the second week, even before potential meetings with Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who has beaten Djokovic in each of the past two finals. De Minaur was forced to pull out of a quarter-final meeting at Wimbledon with the Serb last year due to injury but gets another shot at glory against one of the sport's all-time greats. Advertisement A two-time winner of grass court titles, the world number 11 has dropped just one set on his way to the last 16. "He's playing the tennis of his life. He's definitely knocking on the door of the final stages of Grand Slams," said Djokovic. "You're not super excited to play Alex de Minaur on grass, that's for sure, because he's so quick and he's a complete player." Dimitrov not stressed by dominant Sinner Jannik Sinner does not have the Wimbledon track record of Djokovic or Alcaraz, but the Italian has been the most dominant player in the men's draw in the opening week. Advertisement The US Open and Australian Open champion has matched the men's Open Era record at Wimbledon for fewest games lost -- 17 -- in reaching the fourth round, set by Jan Kodes back in 1972. Sinner is also yet to lose his serve this year at the All England Club, not that his next opponent appears daunted by that prospect. "We're in the second week of Wimbledon. Let's have fun," said 34-year-old Dimitrov, who knows his days on the show courts at Grand Slams are numbered. The Bulgarian appeared destined to be a future Wimbledon champion when he made the semi-finals in 2014, but has never progressed beyond the fourth round since. Advertisement 'Smooth' Swiatek finds feet on grass A rare defeat at the French Open has helped Swiatek finally feel at home on the grass as the former world number one eyes just a second Wimbledon quarter-final on Monday. Aryna Sabalenka beat Swiatek in the semi-finals at Roland Garros after the Polish player won four titles there in five years, but a slightly earlier exit gave her more time to adjust to the grass. Swiatek reached her first grass-court final in Bad Homburg last week, after which she said there is "some hope" for her on the surface. "This year on grass I had some moments where I just felt comfortable and I didn't have to think much. It was just pretty smooth." A flurry of early exits for all of the top six seeds other than Sabalenka also means Swiatek could make the final without having to play another top-10 player. kca/jw

Former HBCU star leaves University of New Orleans

The post Former HBCU star leaves University of New Orleans appeared first on ClutchPoints. After joining Master P and the University of New Orleans in the Spring, Jamal Gibson is heading back to the HBCU basketball ranks with a new team. Xavier University of Louisiana announced that Gibson is committing to the program in a shocking move. Before transferring to the University of New Orleans, he played for Southern University of New Orleans. Advertisement Standing at 6'8″ with no prior playing experience, Jamal Gibson still managed to make a huge impact on the court. During the 2023-2024 season, his first with the team, Gibson excelled, averaging 21 points and 15.8 rebounds per game while leading the nation in total rebounds. He shattered several Southern University of New Orleans basketball records, including single-season points (579), rebounds (453), and double-doubles (27). Carrying his momentum into the 2024-2025 season, Gibson continued to dominate, achieving his 43rd consecutive double-double with a remarkable 26-point, 20-rebound game against Wilberforce University. His exceptional play earned him numerous conference and national honors, and he capped off the season by reclaiming his Player of the Year awards for both offense and defense. It seemed as if the University of New Orleans was a perfect landing spot for Gibson, as he wasted no time in committing to the program. After entering the transfer portal on April 1st, he was confirmed as a Privateer just two days later, on April 3rd. At this time, it's not known why he departed the program shortly after joining it in April. But, he now joins a strong XULA program that finished 20-10 (18-6 in conference) on last season. The team made the NAIA tournament but lost to Avc Maria 88-84 in overtime. Jamal Gibson's specific skillset could be an asset for the team as they look to stay competitive and continue their culture of winning, as they haven't had a losing season since the 2016-2017 season when they went 10-20 and 6-6 in conference. PSG Plot Major Move for €80M-Rated Arsenal, Al-Nassr Target Amid Real Madrid Doubt

Rodrygo's future at Real Madrid is drawing plenty of interest from top European clubs, with PSG keeping tabs on the situation. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City are also following the Brazilian winger closely amid growing uncertainty over his role at the Bernabeu. The 23-year-old has started to attract serious attention, especially with Real Madrid expected to make several changes this summer. Advertisement According to a previous report from Sports Zone, the club no longer considers Rodrygo untouchable. His representatives have already held talks with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool. PSG have also made contact, though their interest appears more cautious for now. More recently, TBR Football reported that Arsenal are becoming increasingly confident about their chances of signing him. Rodrygo is expected to clarify his position after the Club World Cup. Could PSG be preparing for move on Real Madrid star?PSG have reportedly made contact with Rodrygo's representatives in case the Brazilian decides to leave Real Madrid, according to ESPN Brasil. The update comes shortly after Sky Sports reported that Al-Nassr are also pursuing Rodrygo and have already approached his camp. Cristiano Ronaldo—one of Rodrygo's idols—is said to be encouraging the move. Advertisement Despite the Saudi interest, Rodrygo is currently prioritizing a potential move to the Premier League and isn't considering a switch to the Saudi Pro League at this time. Still, Al-Nassr are ready to put a lucrative offer on the table and plan to keep tabs on the situation. Real Madrid are reportedly open to offers, as is often the case, but any deal would need to meet their €80 million valuation. That said, MARCA notes that no club has submitted a formal bid or shown concrete interest so far.
