UAE traffic update: Temporary closure of Sharjah roundabout starting August 3
The roundabout, located near the Holy Quran Complex in the Muweileh Commercial Area, will be off limits for motorists due to maintenance work, which will take place in the area.
Authorities clarified that alternative routes will be provided to ensure smooth traffic until the closure ends on Friday, August 22.
They took to social platform X to call on motorists and road users in general to follow traffic safety guidelines and use the alternative routes to ensure everyone's safety.

Smart monitoring system boosts driving school training standards in Dubai
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reported impressive results from its Smart Monitoring System, which uses AI-powered cameras in driving school vehicles to monitor instructors and trainees. Over the past seven months, the system tracked more than 1.7 million training sessions involving 245,764 trainees - a 14-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The system, developed by the RTA's Licensing Agency, cuts inspection time from 20 minutes to just one, while increasing violation detection fivefold. It automatically spots safety breaches like mobile phone use by instructors or trainees, seatbelt neglect and other distractions including eating, drinking or sleeping while driving.
