Moodbidri: In a move aimed at strengthening international academic ties, Alva's Engineering College, Moodbidri, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mila University, Malaysia. Now, Kannada mobile app for SSLC students
Considering the decreasing passing percentage in SSLC examination particularly among Kannada medium students, Dharwad-based Amrut Academy has come up with an exclusive mobile application for Kannada medium students to prepare for the crucial examination. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday, director of Amrut Academy Prashanth Mandre and coordinator Shivaraj Badiger said that the SSLC App has been designed by the academy solely with the purpose of helping students from rural areas who write the SSLC examination in Kannada. Mr. Mandre said that the SSLC passing percentage has come down to 62.34% in 2024-25 and most of the failed students were from Kannada medium. 'So, to give them the best coaching through expert teachers, we have developed the mobile application with the help of experts in academia and technical experts. In the mobile application, there will be classes on all subjects, complete notes, solved question papers and also motivation sessions,' he said. The formal launch of the mobile application will be held on Saturday at President Hotel in Hubballi. Managing director of Swarnaa Group V.S.V. Prasad, M.R. Patil of KLETU and Circle Inspector of Police Murugesh Chennannavar will participate in the programme being jointly organised by S.R. Tallur Foundation and United Security Force of Hubballi. Mr. Badiger said that founder of United Security Force Santosh Inchal has come forward to provide the mobile application free to select schools in Hubballi taluk and they will be contacting other philanthropists to sponsor the app for rural students. For those who can afford the app, it will be available on a payment of ₹999. Director of coaching institute, Crack IT, Basavaraj Bani said that on Saturday, they will also be launching the online coaching module of their institute for various competitive examinations. The app will cover banking, RRB, SSC and other competitive examination and coaching will be in Kannada. He said that they already have offline coaching programmes that are being offered at concessional rates for ex-servicemen and physically challenged persons.
