Greasy ball will test Wales in Japanese heat
It will feel a lot more when high humidity is factored in and the Wales squad, who used a heat chamber at home ahead of the two-Test series, have turned to ice baths, ice towels and cold flannel hats since arriving in Japan.

'I didn't go in the heat chamber – it was too hot,' said interim head coach Sherratt, who has made made 11 changes from the side hammered by England in the Six Nations three months ago.
'But we've done everything we can to prepare the players for this. Players weren't hugely excited about the heat chamber in Cardiff, but they worked really hard.
'It was as close as we would get in the UK to the temperatures in Japan, but it's obviously different here because we're training in it for 80 minutes rather than five or 10 minutes.
'We saw a lot of wet balls and we've trained in the middle of the day here to get used to the heat.
'If I'm honest it's not the heat, it's the ball (that's a problem). It's very difficult to keep the ball dry.
'It's probably going to be a game on TV where the conditions look perfect, but the ball's going to be really greasy and will test your skill set.'
There are four survivors from the record 68-14 defeat to England in March, with number eight Taulupe Faletau, prop Nicky Smith, centre Ben Thomas and full-back Blair Murray remaining.
Faletau will win his 109th cap against Eddie Jones' Japan but the other two back-row members, Alex Mann and Josh Macleod, have only seven Test appearances between them.
Other than Faletau, only winger Josh Adams, prop Nicky Smith and scrum-half Kieran Hardy possess over 20 caps in the starting line-up.
Hooker Dewi Lake captains the side, inexperienced pair Ben Carter and Teddy Williams form a second-row partnership and centre Johnny Williams returns after last featuring at the 2023 World Cup.
There is some experience on the bench in prop Gareth Thomas and back-rowers Aaron Wainwright and Tommy Reffell.
Sherratt said: 'We've had three weeks prep and it (selection) is a mixture of recent club form and trying to get some combinations that we've seen in training.

'It's a new coaching group and we've tried to let the players start on an even playing field and select on what we've seen.
'We feel conditions are probably going to be tough to start with, and to have some real quality experience off the bench will be massive.
'It's not really a 15 we've picked, it's a genuine 23.
'I've learned at Cardiff that you don't throw on all your experience at once because between 60 and 80 (minutes) is where some of the crucial decision-making comes in.'
The second Test will be played in Kobe on Saturday week.

A flurry of well-wishers followed in the comments, including from Sky Sports and Brentford legend Chris Kamara who said: "Good luck to you Alan". Just prior to the Premier League season concluding, Myers revealed on social media that he had made the call to walk away from Sky. "After a 23 year association I have decided to leave @SkySportsNews," he wrote. "The Channel has given me so many great moments, some tough days too but most importantly many great friends and colleagues. It's been an absolute privilege to be a part of the journey, and what a journey it was! "I want to say a huge thank you to all of those that have helped me from when I joined in 2002, right up to today, and there's still a couple of big stories to cover for me in my final weeks. "SSN has taken me to over 30 countries, World Cup finals, ECL finals and so much more, places as far and wide as Indian to Israel to South Africa, I've been so privileged. He also posted an image of an interaction with legendary boxing promoter Don King, a snap of him reporting late into the night on transfer deadline day, as well as being present upon Michael Owen's unveiling at Newcastle United in 2005. Myers joins a host of stars who have left Sky in recent times. The shockwaves sent by the exit of Soccer Saturday's Jeff Stelling at the end of the 2022/2023 have continued with channel alumni Geoff Shreeves, Martin Tyler and Bianca Westwood all following in recent years. Guy Havord, Dickie Davis, Greg Whelan and Jaydee Dyer were also affected by the cuts. Rob Wotton, senior reporter Melissa Reddy and presenters Teddy Draper, Paul Gilmour and Jasper Taylor are also leaving the channel this summer. Sky have insisted the large scale cuts are not a cost-cutting measure however. BRITS are set to bask in scorching temperatures once again this week as the sun returns. The weather turnaround comes after a miserable weekend of heavy rain and thunderstorms. 6 6 Temperatures could climb into the low 30s and the heat is forecast to remain at night, making sleeping uncomfortable, says the Met Office. It follows a weekend of cooler air, cloud and rain in most of England, and a yellow warning for thunderstorms in the east of the country on Sunday. It's also been a wet start for many today, with the Environment Agency issuing one flood alert in Folkstone, Kent. Marco Petagna, senior meteorologist at the Met Office, said: 'I think Wednesday is probably going to be the day when we could start to reach the thresholds of 25 to 28 degrees, depending on where you are... 'But temperatures are going to continue to climb as we go toward the end of the week and certainly by Friday and Saturday we could see 30 degrees, perhaps just nudging into the low 30s. 'At the weekend, we could just start to see humidity increasing a little bit as well and nighttime temperatures look like they are going to be, so it will be starting to become more uncomfortable by night.' Yet the duration of the hot spell remains difficult to gauge, and there are uncertainties about just how high temperatures will rise. It also appears as though the UK will avoid the stifling weather of the high 30s and low 40s seen in the Mediterranean. Mr Petagna said: 'It's a bit of a question mark going through the weekend early next week as to how long the heat will last and how high the temperatures will get, because some models are sort of pushing the heat away a bit more quickly, whereas others keep the heat going. 'At this stage it looks as though certainly into next weekend, we should hold on to hot weather across the south of the UK and temperatures could again certainly get into the low 30s in a few spots. Temperatures in Hong Kong to reach 33 degrees Celsius or above this week
You know summer is well and truly underway in Hong Kong when the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has to post a Very Hot Weather Warning several days in a row. Temperatures in the territories are expected to hit 33 degrees Celsius or above for most days this week. According to the weather watchdog, the severe tropical storm Danas is moving away from us today and tomorrow, and is expected to make landfall around Zhejiang and Fujian on July 8. Combined with a southwesterly airstream, this means that the area around us will be extremely hot with sunny periods and isolated showers, as well as heavy thunderstorms expected in the middle and latter parts of the week. The maximum temperature today in urban areas of Hong Kong today, July 7, is expected to be around 35 degrees. According to HKO's regional temperature tracker as of 2.20pm however, the mercury has reached 36.4 degrees Celsius in Tai Mei Tuk, 35.7 in Tseung Kwan O, and 34.3 in Happy Valley. As of 1.50pm today, the Labour Department has issued the Amber Heat Stress at Work Warning on top of the Very Hot Weather Warning – the latter has been in force continuously since July 3. Under the influence of extremely hot weather and prolonged heat, the HKO urges the public to stay hydrated and be aware of heatstroke symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, shortness of breath, or confusion. If possible, stay out of the sun and avoid outdoor activities, or take regular rests in the shade. Even when indoors, citizens should stay hydrated and maintain adequate ventilation in rooms.
