EXCLUSIVE Real Housewives vet Sonja Morgan shares HER side of ugly story over $1K restaurant bill that got her 'blacklisted'

Daily Mail13-05-2025
Former Real Housewives of New York City personality Sonja Morgan has talked to DailyMail.com about an ugly incident that went down at Tucci restaurant in New York City on Saturday.
The 61-year-old reality TV star was accused of refusing to pay her $1,000 tab after dining with several friends.
A source told Page Six that she threw around attitude saying she deserved a free meal because she is famous and got 'hysterical.' It was added she is now banned from the dining spot.
But that Bravo star has cleared up what really went down.
Turns out Morgan was invited to eat at Tucci's for free in exchange for posting about the venue to her 1.2million Instagram followers, she has claimed.
She had done this several times in the past and it worked out fine so she thought everything was understood.
With all this noise of Morgan's $1K bill, however, the Tucci restaurant is getting more press than it has ever seen.
The deal was made with the owner of the hot spot, Max Tucci, through phone and text, it was explained.
She also shared that the entire staff knew her meal was supposed to be comped for press, so it was a matter of 'miscommunication.'
And she never acted 'hysterical.'
'There was a clear miscommunication. I believed I was dining in exchange for a promotional post, as discussed with Max,' she told DailyMail.com on Tuesday.
'I made that known to staff, and when it seemed we weren't aligned, I offered relentlessly to reimburse him but didn't hear back.'
Morgan ended up paying the entire bill on Monday and added a generous tip, DailyMail.com has learned.
But Tucci seems as if he is still aggravated by the event even though she paid in full.
He is the third generation partner of Delmonico's Restaurant and founder of TUCCI-New York.
Another famous face that has dropped by Tucci in recent months is troubled former talk show host Wendy Williams.
Tucci, however, told PageSix that it was not right of her to ask for a free meal at a restaurant these days because food costs are so high.
He added the blonde beauty was 'just taking advantage' of the glamorous watering hole that has become a beloved place to dine.
'There was no arrangement for her to have a comped dinner. She just wanted free food and service,' he argued to the site.
With all this noise of Morgan's $1K bill, however, the Tucci restaurant is getting more press than it has ever seen.
Morgan last appeared on Real Housewives of New York City during season 13 in 2021.
Despite the unsavory incident, the mother-of-one took to Instagram on Sunday to mark Mother's Day with a trio of selfies.
She wrote in a caption to her 1.2 million followers, 'My Mother's Day look. Hoping all my Mothers celebrated themselves and their families yesterday.'
And her 24-year-old daughter Quincy Morgan, whom the reality star shared with her late ex-husband John Adams Morgan, gave her a shoutout online.
The University of Pennsylvania graduate uploaded four throwback photos and wrote, 'The best mom @sonjatmorgan.'

Six of the most unique Airbnbs in the US revealed, from a missile launch site to a giant shoe

Feel your vacations have been missing the OMG factor recently? Then check out these six incredibly unique U.S. Airbnbs. There's an out-of-this-world flying saucer-shaped house, a five-story abode in the form of a giant shoe — even a rental inside a former ballistic missile launch center. Or perhaps you'd prefer the curvy home where there's barely a straight line in sight? Whichever one you choose, just remember to take a break from snapping photos to enjoy your leisure time there. 'Magic Fairy Tale Escape', Austin, Texas A stay at this property, called the Bloomhouse and set in the hills of West Austin, will be a 'vacation from the real world of right angles and ticky tacky boxes', say the hosts. That's because, aside from the sliding back doors, there isn't a single straight line or corner in the entire Texas structure. The listing describes the abode, located in a wooded valley, as "part Willy Wonka, part Big Lebowski ' — think Jackie Treehorn — 'and totally unlike anywhere else". What do guests think? They're generally wowed. Reviewer Courtney, from Baton Rouge in Louisiana, said: "What a unique, incredible stay we had here. My three daughters and I loved every square inch of this home. The views were incredible, and the home was well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay, plus more." Meanwhile, Katherine from Boulder, Colorado, describes the rental as a "delightful, rare gem", where "every surface is custom". Sleeps four. Cost per night from around $420. Airbnb Shoe House, Hellam Township, York County, Pennsylvania It's a property with sole — a whole lotta sole! The Haines Shoe House, modeled after a work boot, was built by "Shoe Wizard" Mahlon Haines in 1948 to promote his shoe stores. Mahlon requested the design by handing a work boot to an architect and saying, "Build me a house like this," according to Today, it's a worthy entry in the Airbnb OMG portfolio. The five-story abode features three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen/dinette and a recreation room. Airbnb reviewer Gregory from Thomasville, Pennsylvania, said: "My wife and I live locally and we decided to stay at the Shoe House for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. "I have driven past this landmark all my life and never dreamed that someday I would stay there. "It's beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with wonderful artifacts and a history of the Shoe House mixed in." Sleeps six. Cost per night from around $450. Airbnb Nuclear missile silo, Roswell, New Mexico A stay here will launch you into the depths of Cold War history, with the Roswell rental being the former upper level of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) launch control center. The 1,250-sq-ft space, above the owner's living quarters on the lower level, comes complete with numerous books and displays showing the early days of the ICBM program, and the price includes a three-hour tour. The complex includes a utility tunnel leading to a nuclear missile silo nearly 180 feet deep and guests are free to explore as they wish, and are encouraged to take photos and video. The hosts say: "Please remember that this is an unforgettable experience. We want you to walk away with fabulous memories." Reviewer Lilly, from New Mexico, said: "We were so shocked at the size of the silo, and all the thoughtful and cool details in the bunker." Sleeps four. Cost per night from around $600. Airbnb Spaceship house, Brush Prairie, State of Washington There's no danger for budding Will Robinsons at this one-of-a-kind vacation pad — but there is a robot. With a design inspired by the "Jupiter 2" spaceship from the 1960s Lost in Space TV series, this is a rental that can be described as out of this world without fear of contradiction. Climb aboard and you'll discover there's a 60s-style spacecraft theme throughout, with glowing control panels, silvery pillars and angular chairs. Lawrence, from Seattle, commented: "The spaceship interior is roomy and full of great lighting effects, music options, control panels, coffee maker, fridge, kids' costumes, big cutout Robot from Lost in Space, Wi-Fi, and more." Reviewer Hallie was similarly thrilled, writing: "This was such a unique place to stay. The UFO was so much fun to explore. 'The lights, the themed games, and music (and using the 'old' stereo with tapes and CDs) was delightful. It really was like transporting to another world!" Sleeps eight. Cost per night from around $150. Airbnb The House of Pi, Whitingham, Vermont Part loading dock, part quirky rental, this 34-foot-high container home overlooks a southern Vermont lake and comes with private mooring. The home is spread across eight shipping containers, with guests sleeping in three master bedrooms that have "amazing panoramic views". What's more, a daily hot breakfast and lunch are included. Reviewer Jennifer, from Los Angeles, kicked off her review with "wow, core memories were made here", adding: "The house is gorgeous, very modern but thoughtfully designed to reflect the natural surroundings." She was particularly impressed with the "unreal" shower, which had "all the advantages of an outdoor shower - fireflies, sunsets, treehouse vibe - with the comforts of a luxury spa". Sleeps six. Cost per night from around $480. Airbnb Conestoga Wagon, Sandy Valley Ranch, near Las Vegas Just 45 minutes from Las Vegas, this rustic wagon rental could be just the ticket for some respite from Sin City's bustling dazzle. The wagon comes with electricity and outlets, a mini fridge, a toaster oven and a picnic table and firepit, while hot showers are available at the ranch house. Want to turn up the Wild West vibe to maximum? The ranch offers activities including "cowboy for a day", horse rides, cattle drives, and rodeos. Reviewer Adam said: "This is our second stay at Sandy Valley Ranch and both have been extremely memorable and enjoyable experiences. 'It is a beautiful ranch with friendly hosts."

Travis Kelce and brother Jason's boozy bet with each other at American Century Championship golf tournament

Travis Kelce and brother Jason decided to shotgun a beer every time one of them three-putted during the opening round of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe. The famed celebrity golf tournament got underway on Friday with the Kelce brothers playing alongside fellow NFL legend Andrew Whitworth. Neither Kelce brother played particularly well on day one and were sat 62nd and 83rd on the leaderboard of 90 players after their opening round. But perhaps their erratic play could be explained by the fact that the brothers cooked up a wild bet with each other the night before - and their encounter with a terrifying killer. Jason revealed to Access Hollywood before their first round that they would be downing beers if they struggled on the greens. He said: 'Travis and I always have the side bets going for sure. At least they're having a good time🤣 — 🏈👑 | fan acct. (@TayvisHaze) July 11, 2025 'I think right now, the bet today we talked about last night is every three putt, you got a shotgun a beer. 'So once you miss that first one, if you're left with a four or five footer, it's gonna be a little nerve wracking standing over that thing.' Despite being a fierce competitor during his NFL career, Jason also explained that he was just there 'for the vibes'. 'That's what it's all about,' he continued. 'That's why everybody is here. Everybody's here to just have a good time. All these people are here mostly to have a good time. There's a handful of guys that actually expect to win this thing, but we all know who they are, and that's great. 'We're all here for the vibes. A lot of people come out here and lend their time to interact. So it'll be a good day. I love it.' It was certainly an eventful day for the brothers after they also came in close contact with a black bear. The scary incident, caught in photos taken by occurred as the high-profile NFL pair prepared to tee off on the 16th hole, when fans spotted the bear just behind the tee box. Play was temporarily halted as fans took videos and photos of the animal, which was behind a fence but came close to spectators who were out in their thousands watching the golf tournament at Edgewood. In a scary twist, the bear scare comes just days after one was euthanized just a few miles away after attacking a camper at a site in South Lake Tahoe. The Kelce brothers were followed around by hundreds of fans all day with some of Taylor Swift's most loyal fans there with hopes of seeing the popstar. Rumors circulated around Lake Tahoe that she would be turning up at some point but there was no sign of her during Friday's first round. At the other end of the scoring charts, the tournament leaders are ice hockey legend Joe Pavelski, former NBA star Vinny del Negro, while Steph Curry is tied for third with ex-USMNT player Taylor Twellman.

Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy fan themselves in the summer heat as they film new romcom You Deserve Each Other in NYC

Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy looked in good spirits as they filmed their new romantic comedy You Deserve Each Other in New York City on Friday. The YOU star, 38, and The Bold Type actress, 35, were all smiles as they shared a laugh between takes. The pair fought New York's heat as they both each held a mini portable fan while on a break from filming. Meghann looked stunning in a chic white top with ruffled sleeves teamed with high-waist denim. The actress opted for cosy white trainers but gave an elegant touch with dainty jewellery, while tidying her blonde locks in an up-do. Meanwhile Penn showed off his toned physique in a white tank and black denim, rocking a pair of Vans shoes. While wandering in Brooklyn's streets, the duo were seen carrying a stack of letters. The movie - which is based on the same novel by Sarah Hogle - is directed by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, both writers on the hit rom-coms Never Been Kissed and He's Just Not That Into You. The synopsis reads: 'Described as a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers rom-com, it follows Naomi and Nick, a couple who are about to get married and live happily ever after. 'Except for one thing: they've fallen completely out of love. 'With the wedding rapidly approaching and its pressure mounting, they both resolve to secretly push the other into calling off the wedding using all means at their disposal – pranks, sabotage, and all-out emotional warfare.' Filming is rumoured to have began earlier this month in New York City while a release date remains unknown, with fans hoping for 2026. The enemies-to-lovers romcom is produced by Amazon MGM Studios with the cast flaunting the likes of Natalie Morales and Justin Long, according to Deadline. Fifth Season is producing the movie alongside Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron of Likely Story. EP is Caroline Jaczko. Natalie will play the role of Cassie while Justin will be playing Austin Frazier. First published in 2020 by Penguin imprint G.P. Putnam's Sons, the novel was a 2x Goodreads Choice Awards nominee, for best romance and best debut, in addition to being an Amazon Editors' Pick for best romance.
