He demanded that the funds be directly allocated to local public representatives such as MPPs, MPTCs, and Sarpanches to enable their proper utilization at the village level.
Suresh Reddy submitted a memorandum to Sri Sathya Sai District Collector TS Chetan during the Public Grievance Redressal Programmr held at the Collectorate on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged the government to implement the powers of Sarpanches as per Articles 73 and 74. He expressed concern over the current government's approach of treating Sarpanches as government employees, stating that they are elected public representatives and must be given due respect.
He further demanded that all welfare schemes be extended to the families of Sarpanches and raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the execution of MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) works.
The YSRCP leaders present called for a thorough investigation into corruption in the scheme and insisted that all rural employment projects should be executed through Panchayats, ensuring timely wage payments to workers.
Additionally, they demanded immediate postings for the 1,320 Panchayat Secretaries currently awaiting assignment and the release of pending salaries.
The leaders also urged the State Government to transfer the Rs1,150 crore released by the Centre to the local bodies without delay.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday unveiled a ₹4,800-crore action plan for comprehensive development of the Kuppam constituency that he represents in the Legislative Assembly. 'This will transform Kuppam into a model town and a vibrant hub for solar energy, connectivity, and rural development,' Mr. Naidu said while addressing a public meeting as part of the 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu' programme, at Tummisi village, near Kuppam. Air connectivity Recalling his more than three decades of inseparable bond with the Kuppam region, Mr. Naidu said that plans were afoot to construct a new airport in Kuppam with an investment of ₹850 crore, which 'will contribute to the key growth of the region.' Rejecting the criticism of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) over land acquisition for the project, he reiterated that those who part with their lands would be provided suitable compensation. Road widening Mr. Naidu asserted that the modernisation of the Kuppam Railway Station and development of a four-lane highway from Palamaneru to Krishnagiri (in Tamil Nadu) would be expedited. 'The Kuppam-Hosur road widening will usher in phenomenal development of the Kuppam constituency with excellent connectivity to Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolar. Kuppam has already emerged as a center for inter-State connectivity,' Mr. Naidu said. Solar power Reiterating the government's move to give a big push to the solar energy sector, he said that under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, rooftop solar panels would be set at all the houses in Kuppam. The panels would be installed free of cost for the SC/ST households, while a 40% subsidy would be offered for the Backward Classes. 'Every household will be made power self-sufficient. Solar energy will also be provided to the agriculture sector,' he added. Mr. Naidu pledged continuous drinking water supply to Kuppam this year by completing the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) branch canal to the region at a cost of ₹85 crore, while the total investment on the project would be ₹3,980 crore. The Chief Minister also referred to the plans such as development of road and temples, promotion of dairy sector in Kuppam to take milk production to 10 lakh litres per day, and 'Brand Kuppam' initiative for local products.

Projects under 15th Finance Commission should be completed on time: Ajit Pawar
Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday directed officials of various departments to ensure a timely and high-quality completion of all projects initiated under the 15th Finance Commission. At the review meeting, Pawar said, 'The state is receiving full support from the central government for these projects. All plans have been designed considering the requirements of the next century. Departments must coordinate closely and ensure that every rupee from the Finance Commission is utilised before the end of the current financial year, and not a single rupee is returned.' He held an extensive review of major projects including creation of artificial coral reefs using the decommissioned INS Guldar near Sindhudurg, along with world-class scuba diving, submarine tourism, and an underwater museum, construction of Unity Mall near the international airport at Ulwe in Navi Mumbai, development of the Ram-Kal-Path in Nashik, construction of hostels for working women in Thane, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Kalyan-Dombivli, and Solapur, conservation of cultural heritage, development of Rewas Redi coastal highway, housing schemes for police personal and projects undertaken by Urban Development, Rural Development, Disaster Management, Public Health. Deputy CM Pawar assured the state government's full support in removing any hurdles but emphasised that all projects must be completed within the timeline and meet high-quality standards. Earlier on Monday, Ajit Pawar presented supplementary demands worth Rs 57,509.71 crore for the financial year 2025-26 on the first day of the Monsoon Session of the Legislature. This came amid reported constraints over the availability of adequate funds due to the ballooning fiscal and revenue deficits and mounting public debt. Of the Rs 57,509.71 crore, the allocation of Rs 19,183.85 crore has been made for committed expenditure and the balance is to provide funds for various government programmes and also towards the state government's contribution in the implementation of Central government schemes. Deputy CM Pawar, during the budget session held in March this year, had tabled the supplementary demands worth Rs 6,480.20 crore.

Chandrababu inaugurates development projects in Kuppam, announces free solar power
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that solar power will be provided free of charge to farmers for their pump sets. Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony and inauguration of various development projects worth ₹1,292.74 crore in Kuppam constituency, Naidu pledged that efforts would be made to install solar power in every household, alleviating electricity charges permanently. During the 'Prajavedika Sabha' held in Tummishi, Naidu expressed his vision for the transformation of Kuppam, citing the establishment of a Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub constituency as a key initiative. "Development and welfare should go hand in hand," he stated. "We must create wealth while also implementing welfare programmes. The people of Kuppam have graciously elected me as an MLA nine times. The current YSRCP government has wreaked havoc in the state, dismantling established systems." Naidu highlighted achievements under his administration, including the completion of pothole-free roads and a planned ₹3,829 crore investment to provide water access to every farmland. He also announced plans to elevate Kuppam to a prominent milk production hub, with initiatives like a ₹98,000 subsidy for backward classes to support the generation of three kilowatts of solar energy under the PM Suryagarh scheme.
