Dua Lipa and famous fiancé keen to avoid one thing at their wedding

Daily Mirror20-06-2025
With a dream wedding said to be on the cards, it seems Dua Lipa has finally found Mr Right in actor Callum Turney - but there's one thing they don't planning having when they say their "I Do's"
So many of Dua Lipa's songs are about failed and messy relationships that you might imagine her facing life as a perpetual singleton. However, nothing could be further from the truth, as she has been blissfully loved-up with British actor Callum Turner for nearly 18 months.
The pair were said to have got engaged at Christmas, almost a year after first being seen together at the premiere of Callum's Apple TV+ series, Masters Of The Air, in January 2024. They were then spotted enjoying dinner dates in LA and looking cosy at afterparties for the BAFTAs, the BRITs and the Grammys.

In an Instagram snap last October, they appeared smitten following the recording of Dua's televised Royal Albert Hall concert in London, with Callum kissing her on the cheek. 'Post-show fun and so much love!!!' Dua wrote. And during Paris Fashion Week this January, a viral clip showed them smooching, dancing and taking selfies under the Eiffel Tower.

Callum was previously in a long-term relationship with The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby, but while being quizzed about upcoming movie Eternity earlier this year, he appeared to confirm his and Dua's rock-solid status. Asked who he wanted to spend all eternity with, his short but sweet reply was, 'My girlfriend.'
Dua and Callum first sparked engagement rumours on Christmas Eve when she shared an Instagram snap that showed a ring on her wedding finger. Another photo of her sipping a martini on New Year 's Eve also showed the beautiful gold band with a diamond at its centre.
However, the lovebirds have not publicly confirmed any marriage plans, preferring to keep their relationship as low-key as possible. 'Dua seems to have found 'the one', but she's not someone who talks about her love life openly,' says music journalist John Earls. 'I think she'll want to avoid any sense of it becoming 'The Dua and Callum Show', so we probably won't know much if and when they marry.'
Music writer and broadcaster Matt Charlton believes Dua has found the perfect balance between her public and private persona. 'Some celebrities broadcast every minute of their lives on social media, but Dua's not like that, and she keeps enough of herself back,' he says.

'She retains an old-school aloofness while still being aware of her image and brand, which I think is a good place for her to be.' Prior to falling for Callum, who played Theseus Scamander in Fantastic Beasts, Dua dated French film director Romain Gavras, 43.
She was seen with him at a BAFTA afterparty in February 2023, and they made their red carpet debut together at the Cannes Film Festival that May. But in December 2023, they reportedly called it quits, with a source saying Dua wanted to end it 'before things turned sour'.
The song French Exit from her Radical Optimism album was thought to reference the split, with lines such as, 'It's not a broken heart if I don't break it, Goodbye doesn't hurt if I don't say it, And I really hope you'll understand it, Only way to go is a French exit.'

Dua also briefly dated Paul Klein, frontman of the US band LANY, and she had an on-off romance with British chef and model Isaac Carew, making her Met Gala debut with him in May 2019.
Scheduling conflicts are thought to have caused their break-up a few weeks later, and Dua was then linked with Gigi and Bella Hadid 's model and musician brother, Anwar, 25.

After meeting him at a barbecue, the pair confirmed they were an item with a public kiss at the American Music Awards in November 2019, and Dua once said, 'I'm very comfortable in the relationship, more so than any others.'
They spent part of 2020 isolating on Anwar's family farm in Pennsylvania, and describing life in lockdown, Dua said, 'It's been really great – easy and fun and chill. We've been making the most of this because we got all this extra time, that we weren't expecting, to just hang out.'
She and Anwar even adopted a puppy together, Dexter, whom she called 'our tiny best friend', but after more than two years, they went their separate ways in late 2021. In a May 2022 interview, Dua revealed that the 'next chapter' of her life was about 'truly being good with being alone'.

Speaking about single life on her At Your Service podcast, she added, 'This is the first year I've not been in a relationship for a very long time. It's been really great to just be alone and only think about myself and kind of be quite selfish.'
She even took herself on a solo date in New York, saying, 'Some people on the internet were like, 'Oh, Dua went out for dinner on her own, blah blah, I do this all the time.' And I think that's amazing if you do it all the time. You must be so confident. But it was a big step for me. I was nervous – like, what am I gonna do? I don't want to be on my phone.'

In an interview shortly before she got together with Callum, she reflected on the difficulties of meeting someone new. 'Dating, overall, is just a little confusing,' she said. 'It's either through friends of friends or people you trust where you can meet new people, because [dating] is not really so straightforward when you are a public person.'
She found it especially tricky as her parents' strong marriage had always shaped her own perceptions of love. 'You have such high expectations,' she said in 2018. 'My mum married the first man she fell in love with – first boyfriend, first everything. It does kind of paint this ideal love story in your head.'

Not surprisingly, Dua found herself enduring plenty of bad dates while navigating singledom, which played out through the candid lyrics of songs like Houdini and Training Season. But as John points out, those days are now long gone.
'I don't think she'll write another album that focuses on failed relationships when she doesn't have them in her life any more,' he says. 'Perhaps her next album will instead consist of 10 songs about how great love is. I'm sure Dua can make a happy album, but we'll have to wait and see.'

Xavi Simons reacts to Jorrel Hato completing Chelsea transfer

Chelsea fans are convinced Xavi Simons could soon be on his way after the winger replied to the club's Instagram post announcing Jorrel Hato's transfer move from Ajax to Stamford Bridge. The Blues officially announced their eighth signing of the summer transfer window as Hato put pen to paper on a seven-year contract in a deal worth £37million on Sunday evening. The Netherlands defender, who is comfortable operating both at left-back and centre-half, follows Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Mamadou Sarr, Dario Essugo, Estevao and Kendry Paez through the doors in west London. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool had both expressed a strong interest in Hato in recent weeks, but Chelsea were quick to agree personal terms with the 19-year-old Dutchman before successfully striking a deal with Ajax. 'I'm very excited, I'm so happy to be here,' Hato told Chelsea's official website having committed his future to the Club World Cup champions until 2032. 'I thought a lot about my future and wanted to take the next step in my career. 'Chelsea is the best place for me to do that so I'm very happy.' Hato suggested he was leaving his boyhood team to join one of the 'biggest clubs' in world football. 'For sure it was a big decision,' the versatile full-back added. 'I played seven years at Ajax and for me it was home – the people, the players, the coaches, the culture. 'So it was not easy to leave, but my feeling was that at this moment I needed to make a step to the biggest club in the biggest competitions.' Hato was flooded with countless good luck messages from fans and players alike as he celebrated his switch to Chelsea on his many social media profiles. While Ajax's official Instagram page demanded Chelsea 'take good care' of Hato, the likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Jurrien Timber and Ian Maatsen joined in passing on their best wishes to their fellow countryman. However, it was a reply from RB Leipzig star Simons – which simply read 'Miboy. [love heart emoji]' – that most excited Chelsea supporters, who wasted little time in putting two and two together. In response to Simons' message, one Chelsea fan wrote, 'We're waiting for you champ', while others replied, 'SIGN THE CONTRACT' and 'YOU'RE NEXT'. It comes as Chelsea strive to get a deal over the line with Leipzig for Simons on the back of the attacker's outstanding 2024/25 campaign, in which he racked up ten goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga. Talks between Chelsea and Leipzig have been positive and the Europa Conference League winners are optimistic they can get their man before the transfer deadline. More Trending It's understood Leipzig value Simons at around £60m and reports at the weekend indicated that the German outfit had floated the idea of Chelsea including Tyrique George in a deal. The former PSV Eindhoven man is tied into a contract with Leipzig until June 2027. Simons has removed any mention of Leipzig on his social media pages and did not take part in pre-season training with the rest of Ole Werner's squad last Friday. Though Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schafer insisted the reason for Simons' absence was 'purely medical', the club have grown increasingly resigned to losing their star man to Chelsea. Jason Momoa's Chief of War crew 'blessed' by volcano erupting for first time in decades

A volcano erupted for the first time in over three decades while Apple TV's Chief of War was filming in Hawaii Te Kohe Tuhaka, star of Chief of War, has shared a remarkable moment of natural beauty that occurred during the filming of Apple TV+'s highly praised new historical drama. ‌ The series, which stars, is co-written and executive produced by Jason Momoa, sees the Game of Thrones actor take on the role of real-life Hawaiian warrior Ka'iana during the turbulent turn of the 19th Century. ‌ The show delves into Pacific Island history in an unprecedented way, featuring a predominantly Polynesian cast who shot most of their scenes in New Zealand. ‌ However, some key moments were filmed in Hawaii itself, including an ambitious sequence set against the backdrop of Kalapana's lava fields. In an extraordinary coincidence, the Mauna Loa volcano erupted for the first time in three decades while filming was ongoing, and ceased just as the cast wrapped up their final scenes, reports the Express. ‌ Momoa described the awe-inspiring moment in an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "You can't write that s***. "You're obviously stirring up a lot of spirits and mana. It was unbelievable, but there was a really positive energy." Express Online recently had the opportunity to speak with Momoa's co-star Tuhaka, who plays Ka'iana's brother Namakeʻ, about the ambitious production of Chief of War. ‌ "We arrived, our first day of the shoot, the volcano goes off," the New Zealand actor remembered. "And then, when we wrapped, as soon as our last day there, wrap was called, boom. It stopped. "It was intense and beautiful at the same time, and pretty overwhelming. Especially when we were setting up shots with lots of warriors and extras going on, fight extras." ‌ Teasing that viewers will witness the spectacle themselves during the episode, he continued: "You can see the glow from the volcano. "It was a beautiful thing to be a part of, and culturally I was just like, 'Whoa, that is a sign'." Momoa, Tuhaka and the programme's entire cast all appeared to interpret the unexpected eruption as a positive omen that Chief of War is honouring Hawaii's rich history and culture properly. ‌ "Because of the way I love my culture I read into those things quite a lot," Tuhaka reveals. ‌ "Personally, from my perspective, I went, 'Oh, that is a beautiful sign, a beautiful Hawaiian sign that this is something that is waking up the land in some way'." Regarding the actual content of the scene, the actor is remaining tight-lipped about spoilers. Nevertheless, he did reveal there'll be an exciting action sequence in the series finale that's absolutely worth waiting for. "Without giving too much away, there is a scene in [episode] nine... that's all I can really say to it," he hinted. "But it was physically demanding, it required an intense focus which I haven't had to lean into before and it caps everything off really, really nicely. Ep nine, epic scene. So, keep watching."

Coronation Street fans 'rumble' who had Logan 'killed' after brutal exit

Coronation Street fans think they know what really happened to Logan Radcliffe and who had him 'attacked' amid speculation he's been killed off after his exit aired Logan in Coronation Street was feared dead on Friday night, after he was seemingly attacked before an exit was confirmed. ‌ The baddie appeared to have said too much to Carla Connor during a prison visit, and soon a cellmate warned him he'd been a bit too chatty. Logan looked terrified as he pleaded his innocence, and the cell door closed indicating an attack was about to happen. ‌ It comes as Logan actor Harry Lowbridge announced his exit from the show, revealing his final scenes had been filmed and aired. With that, fans were convinced this confirmed that Logan was dead after whatever happened in the cell, with someone organising him being silenced after his comments about a mystery person called Tia Wardley. ‌ Carla had been desperate for answers on what happened to her partner Lisa Swain's late wife Becky Swain. Lisa was struggling to move forward, not knowing for sure if Becky was in trouble before her death and why she was killed in a hit and run. As Carla visited Logan for answers about Becky, he demanded £10,000 for information he may have. He then let slip a name, Tia Wardley, while no context was given about who they were or how it was linked to Becky. ‌ It was enough to land Logan in trouble with a cellmate over a "mutual friend" he'd upset though, with him clearly needing to be silenced. After the episode ended, actor Harry took to Instagram to announce his exit from the show. Confirming his final scenes had now aired, the ones with the random cellmate, he confirmed post-attack he would not be seen again. With that, fans were convinced Logan was now dead. So was Logan killed for saying too much and who would want him silenced? Who was this mutual friend the cellmate knew, and how are they linked to the Becky plot and the mystery Tia? ‌ Viewers think there could be a twist and that the person wanting Logan dead could be none other than former show villain Harvey Gaskell. Others think it's DI Costello or even Lisa's therapist Floyd, given they are keen for Lisa to stop looking into what happened to Becky. Lisa herself was also named as a surprise culprit, while Becky and Tia were also tipped by fans to be the "mutual friend". Taking to social media one fan said: "Lisa definitely had Logan killed in prison." ‌ Another fan said: "So that mutual friend? Costello? Kit? Tia? Or Becky herself?" A third fan posted: "Best guess at the moment is Costello or Floyd." A further theory read: "Was the killer sent by Costello?" as another asked: "Harvey???" Another fan commented: "It's ether Costello or Kit got Logan attacked inside."
