The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass of Rs 3,000 for one year or 200 trips (whichever comes earlier) for private vehicles . The FASTag annual pass is introduced as part of a significant effort to make highway travel easier and more affordable. This will be effective from August 15, 2025.According to a social media post on X by Nitin Gadkari , Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, 'The Rs 3,000 pass is good for non-commercial vehicles such as automobiles, jeeps, and vans and is valid for a year or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first.'This annual pass will save frequent travellers a significant amount of money by replacing multiple toll payments with a single, affordable annual fee. It will work best for commuters who use national highways for a daily or regular commute within a short distance. Mainly, it reduces waiting time at toll booths, especially during peak hours or holiday seasons for private commuters. As the total cost of this annual pass is Rs 3,000 and the maximum number of toll crossings allowed under it is 200, the average cost per toll comes out to be Rs 15. So for a frequent traveller, the higher the average cost of toll in his route, the higher will be the benefit he or she will get. For instance, if the average cost of toll is Rs 50 then the traveller would have to pay Rs 10,000 for 200 toll crossings. However, with this annual pass, he can do the same with merely Rs 3,000 which saves Rs 7,000. In case, the traveller has a preferred long route which has much higher average toll fee then his/her savings will be more.According to a post on X by Nitin Gadkari, 'In a transformative step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at Rs 3,000, effective from 15th August 2025. Valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips—whichever comes first—this pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.'Now travelers can get a FASTag-based Annual Pass which is priced at Rs 3,000 and will be effective from 15th August 2025. This pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first. This pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.'The Annual Pass will enable seamless and cost-effective travel across National Highways throughout the country. A dedicated link for activation and renewal will soon be made available on the Rajmarg Yatra App as well as on the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH,' Nitin Gadgari said.Adding further, this policy addresses long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas located within a 60 km range and simplifies toll payments through a single, affordable transaction, he said.FASTag is a chip similar to the RFID tags that car companies place as a sticker on the windshield. It has all your details, which makes it easier for you to pass through a toll and pay the toll amount by scanning Code. Paying FASTag charges at any toll plaza is a contactless process. You can open a prepaid FASTag account and add money to it so that the account is usable. You can keep reloading money in this account as long as you need to, if you are going on a trip or trips that require you to pass through tolls. There will be FASTag lanes demarcated for every toll across the country.According to the ICICI Bank website, there is a charge of Rs 99.12 (including GST) on new Tag joining. However, please check with your respective bank or other entity for any charges associated with the new Tag joining.Your FASTag account can be recharged through internet banking, NEFT/RTGS, UPI, credit card, debit card, cheque and cash, as per the ICICI Bank website.

Gautam Adani's BIG move, begins exit from FMCG venture, sells major stake in AWL Agri Business in deal worth Rs 71500000000 to...

Gautam Adani (File) Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) announced on Thursday that it has agreed to sell a 20 per cent stake in AWL Agri Business Ltd to Lence Pte Ltd, a part of Wilmar International. The deal is priced at Rs. 275 per share, and the total value of the sale is Rs. 7,150 crore. With this move, Wilmar will now become the majority owner of AWL, holding 64 per cent of the company. Right now, Adani Commodities LLP, a unit of AEL, owns 30.42 per cent of AWL. This sale is part of Adani's ongoing plan to sell its entire 44 per cent stake in AWL and exit the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) business that it had jointly run with Wilmar. Agreement between Adani Commodities LLP and Lence Pte. Ltd In December 2024, Adani Commodities LLP (ACL) and Lence Pte. Ltd, a part of Wilmar International from Singapore, signed an agreement. As part of this deal, both sides gave each other the option to buy or sell Adani's shares in Adani Wilmar Limited (AWL) at a later date. They agreed on a price cap of Rs. 305 per share. At that time, both companies owned 44 per cent each in AWL, together holding 88 per cent of the company. In January 2025, Adani sold 13.5 per cent of its shares in AWL for Rs. 276.51 per share, raising Rs. 4,855 crore. This was done to follow rules that require more of the company's shares to be held by the public. After that sale, Adani still held around 30.42 per cent in AWL. Now, out of this, Adani plans to sell 11 per cent to 20 per cent to Lence. The rest will be offered to strategic partners and investors that Wilmar brings in. The final 10.42 per cent of Adani's stake will also be sold to selected investors before the deal with Lence is finished. Once all these sales are done, Adani will completely exit AWL. That means AWL will no longer be linked to Adani Enterprises in any official way. (With IANS inputs)

ULLU launches UlluCoin, marks entry into Web3 with backing from Cypher Capital

Indian OTT platform ULLU has announced the official launch of UlluCoin, a utility token designed to integrate blockchain-based functionality across its digital content ecosystem. The company said the token will support user engagement, unlock premium content, enable in-app redemptions, and offer fan rewards, as part of its broader shift into the Web3 space. ADVERTISEMENT ULLU, known for its bold and original content, currently has over 42 million active users and more than 109 million app downloads since its launch in 2018. The company said UlluCoin is being issued by a newly created entity and will have a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. 'This is a big moment for India and for ULLU. We've always strived to stay ahead of the curve, empowering users, unlocking new value for creators, and building a smarter entertainment economy,' said Avinash Duggar, CEO of ULLU. 'UlluCoin is more than just a token; it's a full-stack utility ecosystem built on one of the most active OTT platforms in the region. With over 109 million downloads and 42 million active subscribers, ULLU offers native distribution, unmatched engagement, and a powerful use case for real-world blockchain adoption,' he added. Dubai-based venture capital firm Cypher Capital has backed the launch through a strategic early-stage investment. The firm, which focuses on blockchain and emerging technologies, has previously invested in several Web3 projects. 'At Cypher Capital, we look for projects that combine massive user scale with real-world utility and UlluCoin fits that vision perfectly. We're excited to back and help UlluCoin scale globally,' said Harsh Agarwal, Investment Director at Cypher Capital. Chainsense Ltd has joined as UlluCoin's official Web3 partner, leading blockchain infrastructure, tokenomics, and global expansion,' said Ganesh Lore of Chainsense. ADVERTISEMENT UlluCoin will initially be distributed through the ULLU app and the official website, The company said this approach is aimed at preventing scams and ensuring a secure rollout. The token is not yet listed on exchanges, but the listing process is underway.'We've officially launched Ullu Coin today. While the listing process will take around 1–2 months to complete, we're currently distributing the coins for free on our platform basis subscription,' a company spokesperson said. ADVERTISEMENT 'Once listed on crypto exchanges, Ullu Coin will be usable anywhere crypto is accepted, just like other mainstream cryptocurrencies. Whether it's real estate transactions or broader crypto ecosystems, Ullu Coin will seamlessly integrate. Much like Jio's strategic partnership with Polygon, we've formed a similar alliance with Cypher to strengthen our blockchain infrastructure,' the spokesperson said its roadmap for UlluCoin includes features like creator rewards, live fan events, interactive quests, and token-gated marketplaces, as it looks to expand its footprint both in India and globally.
