A tragic quad bike incident on the Greek island of Zante has left a young Welsh DJ in a coma after sustaining severe head injuries. Kai Roberts, 24, from Pembrokeshire has been put in a dire situation following the accident over the weekend.
His partner, Kya Gillane-Heywood, who accompanied him to Greece, is reeling from the shock and has since taken action to support Kai through crowdfunding. Expressing her dismay from the holiday destination to The Mirror, she said: "It is horrible. It is weird because we are all still in shock so it doesn't feel real but at the same time it is just crazy because it is so real if that makes any sense? I don't know how to describe it."
Back home, Kai holds a full-time position at a dairy factory and spins tunes as a DJ on weekends. He had embraced what was described as an "amazing opportunity" to spend the summer as a resident DJ at Ikon club in Zante, warming up for acts including Tom Zanetti.
The thrill of his new gig came to an abrupt halt after an unfortunate turn of events last weekend.
His family are desperately worried about him

Kya shared the circumstances surrounding Kai's injury, saying: "It was Sunday and it happened around 5pm. They were out on the quads and obviously then they had the accident...

"One of the girls is out here with me, she found out and I didn't have my phone with me at the time. She came and found me and told me so I rang the other boy he was with to see what was going on.
"At that point they didn't think it was as serious. It turned out when he got to the medical centre, they transferred him straight to the hospital and they did a CT scan and he had a bleed on the brain."
Kai has been in Zante since June 1 and was expecting to return on July 1, but a severe incident resulted in him being placed into an induced coma for medical transport to the mainland of Greece. He's currently under intensive care with neurosurgeons attending to him.
The accident took place after the quad bike, holding both Kai and his friend, hit with a wall. His pal escaped with minor injuries like cuts, bruises and swelling but the extent of Kai's fate is yet to be fully revealed.

The latest information Kya received indicates that Kai is still comatose without any change for better or worse. As his condition remains unchanged, family members, who have rushed to Greece to support him, are desperately hoping for promising developments.
In response to the situation, his girlfriend has initiated a fundraiser which has swiftly garnered over £5,000. Explaining the necessity for the funds, she remarked: "Kai has a lot of friends everywhere because he is an amazing person and everyone loves him.
"We are not sure if the insurance will cover him and that is not what we have been sorting at the minute so the cost to his family coming out to be with him.
"Potentially medical costs because when he does recover, which hopefully he will, he will not be able to work. So it will support him and his family."

Toby Ellis, the station manager at Pure West Radio where Kai hosts a house music show, shared his thoughts on the tragic event: "It's been an incredibly difficult 24 hours for all of us at Pure West Radio as we come to terms with the news about one of the PWR Dance Family DJs, Kai Roberts, who has suffered a serious head injury following a quad bike accident in Zante yesterday."
Discussing a fundraising event set to take place at various clubs on Saturday, 26th July, he further commented: "This is the first time all of these nightclubs have been on the same bill together."

Oasis star Noel Gallagher travels to Cardiff by train for for Principality gigs Noel Gallagher has been spotted in Cardiff Noel Gallagher has been seen in Cardiff (Image: Sharon Prosser ) It is just days to go before Noel and Liam Gallagher put aside their differences and reunite Oasis in the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. They will be taking to the stage on Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5. Now Noel has been spotted travelling to Cardiff by train without his brother. Noel was pictured at Cardiff Central station on Tuesday, July 1. In the picture, Noel is wearing sunglasses, a blue polo shirt, and jeans. There have been many sound checks booming from the stadium on Monday and Tuesday with fans believing the brothers are rehearsing. Liam appears to have jokingly confirmed the soundchecks are not actually the famous brothers but suggested the songs were recorded rehearsals. You can check the list of songs we've heard so far here. Noel was seen at Cardiff Central (Image: Sharon Prosser ) On Monday, replying to a video of the soundchecks, Liam said on X: "Mmm I'm not sure about the vocals there too aggressive he really needs to take a chill pill man he's just so angry all the time I don't know who he thinks he is as far as I'm concerned he's just a bigmouth from up north". A fan then asked Liam to "confirm or deny" if it was him rehearsing. Liam replied: "I've been in my pool all day doing under water farts so it's defo a recording from rehearsals unless there's 2 of me which I'm absolutely 1 million per cent here for well there for as well". As always with Liam, he could be joking with fans and he too could be in the Welsh capital. Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go can sell their seats, although these tend to go in and out of stock quickly. Oasis drummer looks totally unrecogniseable 30 years after he was kicked out of the band
Oasis are gearing up for a massive comeback tour that kicks off in Cariff this week but their original drummer was performing in a much more modest venue just a few miles away.. Tony McCarroll attracted a small crowd when he played at a quaint Welsh pub, followed by a Q&A session on his time with the iconic band. Often referred to as the forgotten man of Oasis, Tony, now looking totally different from the mop-topped percussionist of the 90s, shared his stories at Ye Olde Butchers Arms, in Cardiff, to an audience of around 60 people. The venue is a mere four miles from the Principality Stadium, where more than 70,000 fans will gather for the first night of the eagerly awaited Oasis reunion tour on Friday. Tony happily posed for photos and tickets for his talk were priced at £23.50. The 54-year-old has previously described his decision to leave Oasis as the "biggest mistake of my life". Although it is thought he didn't have much say in the matter as he was essentially sacked by songwriter Noel Gallagher after recording the debut LP Definitely Maybe and before most of the second album (What's The Story) Morning Glory? was recorded, reports the Daily Star. His departure was announced in April 1995 when Alan White replaced him on drums. Tony had more disagreements with Noel than Liam, as Noel felt his drumming wasn't up to scratch for the band. In the 2016 Oasis documentary Supersonic, Noel expressed his desire to make changes before the second album. Speaking about Tony, he said: "Yeah, I probably made up my mind knowing that Champagne Supernova was coming up and Don't Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall, that he wasn't going to be able to play those songs. It'd become apparent recording Definitely Maybe, we spent a lot of time mucking about trying to get the drums right, and it was never right." However, during a Q&A event in 2024 reported by the Mirror, Tony revealed that relations had improved with some band members, particularly Liam who gifted him tickets to the Definitely Maybe solo tour last year. Tony stated: "You know things are thawing out as we get older. I had a massive guest list from him (Liam) a couple of months ago for 11 of us from the family when he did the Definitely Maybe tour. When I asked for 11 for my guest list I do think he may well have realised (for me) that is my celebration. That is my 'Put a cap on it. I am done after this'. And I think I am, yeah... until I get a phone call." Tony, aged 53, departed the band following Oasis' debut album Definitely Maybe. In a legal dispute in 1999, he received a one-off payment of £550,000 after suing the Manchester rockers for millions in unpaid royalties. Oasis will introduce a new drummer, Joey Waronker, for their 2025 tour. He has previously played on one of Liam's tours when he was on the road with John Squire. As well as the comeback shows in Cardiff this week, the Oasis UK dates also include gigs at Manchester, London and Edinburgh. Viagogo and resale tickets Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs. Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused. However, fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.
