
Hants County man wanted on provincewide arrest warrant: N.S. RCMP

A Hants County, N.S., man is wanted on a provincewide arrest warrant.
Andrew Scott Barker, 47, is wanted and charged with the following offences:
unlawful confinement
assault
assault with a weapon
administer or cause drugs to be taken
uttering threats
robbery
theft of motor vehicle
Police describe Barker as five-foot-11, 170 pounds, with green eyes, short brown hair and a beard.
The force says they believe he is driving a red Fiat and warn he may be armed.
The West Hants RCMP Detachment says attempts have been made to locate Barker and is requesting the public's help. Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to refrain from approaching him and to call 911, West Hants RCMP Detachment at 902-798-2207, or the police of jurisdiction in the area.

Teen arrested after unprovoked machete attack: Winnipeg police

Police said on June 27 around 8:20 p.m., a 68-year-old man was randomly assaulted in the 100 block of Henry Avenue by a teenage boy who was armed with a machete. Witnesses surrounded the teenager so he could not leave the scene and flagged down patrol officers in the area, according to police. Central District patrol officers provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived. The teenager was arrested and two machetes were recovered during the arrest. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition, which has since been upgraded to stable condition. Police said he will require surgery. The teenager was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

Unidentified body found in the Rivière des Prairies in Montreal
An unidentified body was found Saturday afternoon in the Rivière des Prairies in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough of Montreal. Shortly before 3:20 p.m., police officers from the Montreal police's (SPVM) 10th precinct were informed of the possible presence of a body in the river. Once on the scene, police located an unresponsive and unidentifiable body near the shore, not far from the intersection of Gouin Boulevard West and Martin Avenue, explained SPVM spokesperson Julien Lévesque. 'Given the circumstances surrounding this event, SPVM investigators were called to the scene to analyse it,' he explained. The investigation will then be transferred to the Quebec Coroner's Office.
