
Unidentified body found in the Rivière des Prairies in Montreal
An unidentified body was found Saturday afternoon in the Rivière des Prairies in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough of Montreal.
Shortly before 3:20 p.m., police officers from the Montreal police's (SPVM) 10th precinct were informed of the possible presence of a body in the river.
Once on the scene, police located an unresponsive and unidentifiable body near the shore, not far from the intersection of Gouin Boulevard West and Martin Avenue, explained SPVM spokesperson Julien Lévesque.
'Given the circumstances surrounding this event, SPVM investigators were called to the scene to analyse it,' he explained.
The investigation will then be transferred to the Quebec Coroner's Office.
