Bayern's Jamal Musiala fractured his leg in collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma at Club World Cup
Bayern said Sunday that Musiala had flown back from Florida to Munich that morning for surgery on the injury he picked up in Saturday's loss to PSG in the quarterfinals.
Bayern said doctors found Musiala 'sustained a fracture of the fibula (bone in the lower leg) associated with an ankle dislocation."
'This serious injury and the lengthy lay-off are a real shock for Jamal and us all,' Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said in a statement.
"Jamal has just come back from an injury and will now be out for another long period. He'll get everything he needs from us. We'll support him intensively, be by his side and already look forward to when he's back on the pitch.'

Liverpool's Luis Diaz assures Bayern Munich of willingness to move
Bayern Munich's pursuit of Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has accelerated over the course of the weekend. Bild report that the Colombian has assured the Bundesliga champions of his willingness to move, although no negotiations with the Premier League winners have yet taken place. The Rekordmeister made contact amid a transfer for Diaz just last week as they scour the market for a left-sided attacker following Leroy Sane's departure to Galatasaray, while the future of Kingsley Coman remains uncertain and Serge Gnabry entering the final year of his contract. After Nico Williams signed a contract extension with Athletic Club and Luis Enrique stating that he expects Bradley Barcola to remain at Paris Saint-Germain beyond the summer, Diaz is now the top candidate. Advertisement According to Transfermarkt, Diaz' market value sits at €70m. It would take a significant offer for Liverpool to even consider selling the Colombia international, who scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 36 Premier League games last season. Moises Caicedo could be back in action in the semi-final (Rafal Oleksiewicz/PA) Chelsea will have Moises Caicedo available again at the MetLife Stadium after suspension and will hope Reece James and Romeo Lavia can overcome knocks. Advertisement Gusto forced the late winner in the 2-1 quarter-final triumph over Palmeiras when his cross took two deflections and found its way into the Brazilians' net. He said: 'It's important to do different things on the pitch. The coach asked me to do that and I tried to help the team as much as I can and I'm so happy to win through these games.'

Little green man becomes little green woman with soccer ball for Euro 2025 in Switzerland
BASEL, Switzerland (AP) — Law-abiding pedestrians wait for the green woman kicking a soccer ball before they cross the road during the Women's European Championship. Authorities in the Swiss city of Basel have installed 12 of the altered pedestrian crossing lights at locations frequented by soccer fans while the country hosts the nearly month-long tournament. Some are located near the soccer stadium, others near the train station. 'They will stay until the end of the Women's Euro — maybe even a few days longer,' says Nicole Ryf-Stocker, spokeswoman for Basel's transport department. Ryf-Stocker said the idea and design was provided by the St. Gallen civil engineering department, while the lights were manufactured by the same company that manufactures Basel's traffic lights. 'We thought the idea was fantastic and were allowed to use it,' she said. ___
