Emmy-winning Detroit TV reporter's home searched by authorities amid sexual harassment probe

New York Post19-06-2025

The investigator becomes the investigated.
Authorities in Detroit searched the home of an Emmy-winning television reporter who co-hosts a podcast with a Los Angeles Rams player's wife following alleged sexual misconduct.
3 Television reporter Hank Winchester's home was searched by authorities following reports of alleged unwanted sexual advances with a man during a massage.

Hank Winchester, an investigative reporter at the NBC-affiliated WDIV Local 4 station and host of HelpMeHank, is married to Oakland County Circuit Judge Jacob Cunningham, according to Winchester's Instagram. The two also share a young daughter.
Beverly Hills Police searched his home alongside the Oakland County Sheriff's Office while executing a search warrant related to alleged unwanted sexual advances Winchester made toward a man during a massage, as reported by Fox 2.
Winchester also co-hosts 'The Morning After' podcast with Kelly Stafford, who is married to LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The show occasionally features high-profile guests employed by media powerhouses like Access Hollywood and ESPN.

Before joining the Rams, Matthew Stafford played for the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020. Winchester has been close with the entire family for years, he wrote in a farewell to the Staffords when they moved to LA in 2021.
Winchester was also placed on administrative leave as a result of the 'external investigation,' WDIV Vice President Bob Ellis wrote in a statement.

Todd Flood, Winchester's attorney, is confident the probe will flop.
'Hank has spent decades bringing truth to our community and fighting for our citizens. Because he holds a high-profile position in our community, that can at times generate false accusations. This investigation will end where it began – nowhere,' he wrote.
No charges have been filed. The investigation is still ongoing.
Winchester isn't the only media figure to find himself facing similar allegations in recent months.
In April, a disgraced weatherman in Virginia was arrested after allegedly making a sex tape and using it to extort his victims.
Last year, a Louisiana television anchor resigned after he was caught sexting who he thought was a 15-year-old girl but was in reality a vigilante trio dubbed the 'predator hunters.'

Drake Sends Strong Message After Raptors' Major Decision

Drake Sends Strong Message After Raptors' Major Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Toronto Raptors' offseason was jolted by a surprise announcement just one day after the NBA Draft: long-time president Masai Ujiri is exiting the team. The decision comes on the heels of a disappointing 2024-25 campaign in which the team finished 30-52, missed the playoffs for the third straight year, and missed the play-in tournament. Advertisement Ujiri had led the organization for 13 seasons, becoming the most successful executive in franchise history. Under his leadership, the Raptors posted a regular-season record of 545-419, with eight playoff appearances and the team's only NBA title in 2019. His tenure was marked by a sustained run of winning seasons and significant cultural and on-court achievements. Toronto Raptors Former Vice-Chairman and Team President Masai Ujiri.© John E. Sokolowski-Imagn Images Off the court, Ujiri forged strong ties within the city's sports and entertainment circles—most notably through his friendship with rapper Drake. Uriji's partnership with Drake, who has been publicly supportive of his hometown team and has appeared courtside during Raptors games, helped elevate Toronto from a regional team into a global brand. Following the announcement of Ujiri's departure, Drake posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram story: 'My mentor and my friend. The city will miss you. Thank you for an unforgettable 13 years.' Drake's ties to the Raptors run deep. Named the team's global ambassador in 2013, he has been a visible part of the 'We The North' campaign, attended key charity events alongside Ujiri, and routinely made courtside appearances through the championship era and beyond. Advertisement With Ujiri now gone, the Raptors must fill a leadership void at a pivotal moment. General manager Bobby Webster has been retained, with MLSE perhaps set to launch a search for a new team president soon. Salomon and Arc'teryx Help Amer Sports Defy Downturn With Athleisure Bet

In 2020, Carlo Aragon started the 'Salomonology' Instagram page as a fashion moodboard to help him decide whether to invest $150 in a pair of Salomon XT-6s. He bought it, liking how the shoes looked 'unorthodox.' Others did too — the account now has almost 150,000 followers, intrigued by how trail shoes can pair with streetwear. Aragon's Instagram fame mirrors the ascent of Amer Sports Inc., the company behind Salomon. Since its New York Stock Exchange debut in February 2024, the Helsinki-based group, which also owns outerwear brand Arc'teryx and sports equipment maker Wilson, has nearly tripled its market value to $21 billion. It has outpaced peers like On Holding AG, Hoka parent company Deckers Outdoor Corp. and Anta Sports Products Ltd., the Chinese sporting goods giant that owns a 42% stake in Amer Sports. Amer Sports' growth has beaten the consumer downturn by riding the outdoor activity wave. It's among the mid-tier luxury brands offering shoppers high-quality goods that don't break the bank. The bulk of this rally occurred recently, following first-quarter results that defied a rocky global economy. Sales topped expectations, and the company raised its outlook while others cut theirs. Growth of its Technical Apparel and Outdoor Performance divisions — which respectively house Arc'teryx and Salomon — boosted results, Chief Executive Officer James Zheng said in the most recent earnings call, highlighting the brands' potential. While Salomon sneakers surpassed $1 billion in sales in 2024, it's a fraction of the $180 billion global sneaker market, and Arc'teryx is 'very under-penetrated globally,' he said in the call. Amer Sports declined a request for an interview with an executive. Reversal of fortunes Amer Sports wasn't always this successful. Shares remained subdued after the IPO due to high debt, low trading volume, and significant exposure to a lagging Chinese economy, said Laurent Vasilescu, an analyst at BNP Paribas Exane, who rates the stock outperform. Then in December, Amer Sports issued shares to pay down most of its debt. This move reduced leverage and boosted trading volume, alleviating two of the three primary investor concerns, Vasilescu said in an interview. China, which accounts for about 30% of the company's revenue, remains a concern, though sales in the market have bested expectations every quarter since the IPO. Premium sportswear and outdoor market gear is one of the fastest-growing consumer segments in China, attracting younger and female consumers, as well as luxury shoppers, Chief Financial Officer Andrew Page said on the earnings call. Glamping — short for glamorous camping — and gorpcore – wearing outdoor clothes as everyday wear – are currently trending in China, Vasilescu said. Amer Sports is also attracting middle- and upper-income customers who like the 'quiet luxury' aesthetic and the upscale in-store shopping experience of its brands, he added. That's happening in the US too, where celebrities like Timothée Chalamet and Bella Hadid have been spotted wearing Salomon shoes. Sales in its Americas division have grown every year since 2020 – the earliest publicly available results – though at a slower pace than Greater China's, which is estimated to overtake Europe, the Middle East and Africa as Amer Sports' second-largest market by revenue this year. One fan is Gabriella Gonzalez, a 29-year-old stylist who popped by a Salomon store in New York City's SoHo shopping district on a Friday afternoon. She praised the breathability, waterproofing and style of her pink-and-black XT-6 shoes. 'They make my outfits pop,' she said. About half a mile away is Arc'teryx's largest US store. Customer Chris Rojes said he doesn't mind paying more for Arc'teryx's gear over other brands. 'You feel more special in them.' Arc'teryx distinguishes itself from other outdoor apparel brands like Patagonia Inc. and VF Corp's The North Face through a 'much higher level of premiumization,' said TD Cowen analyst John Kernan, who has a buy rating on Amer Sports. Despite higher prices, consumers are willing to pay for Arc'teryx's 'leading innovation.' Declining consumer brand loyalty and a growing desire for variety also creates an opportunity for Salomon and Arc'teryx to gain market share from industry leaders like Nike Inc. and Adidas AG, Vasilescu said. To keep flying high, Amer Sports needs to go global, analysts said, warning that it's an uphill battle. 'We believe that the global brand rollout will not be easy' due to Arc'teryx's high price points and intense competition in Western outerwear markets, said HSBC analyst Akshay Gupta, who has a hold rating on the company. Morningstar analyst Ivan Su, who has a sell rating, believes Amer Sports' would need a compound annual growth rate of 20% over the next five years to support its currently high valuation, which would require 'near flawless execution' globally. Texas' Arch Manning recalls advice from Matthew McConaughey at Manning Passing Academy

There are lots of eyes that gravitate toward the starting quarterback at a blue-blood college football program, let alone at a program such as Texas. For first-year starter Arch Manning, there comes even more fame and expectations given his family lineage, having Super Bowl-winning uncles Peyton and Eli Manning, and grandpa Archie Manning, who played in the NFL for 13 years. Arch Manning, speaking to The Athletic in an interview at the Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana, mentioned receiving advice from one of the most famous Longhorns about his newfound position with the program. "A few. It depends on the night, but I stay pretty low key," Arch Manning told reporters via The Athletic on Friday when asked of how many picture requests he gets on campus. "... I had to get used to it a little bit. I've actually talked to Matthew McConaughey about that. He's given me some advice. He's been great to have in my corner." McConaughey, who's at nearly every Texas Longhorns football game and is known for his role as the team's "Minister of Culture," knows a thing or two about dealing with fame, especially within the context of Austin, Texas, as the Academy Award winner graduated from UT in 1993 and has taught classes at the university. Arch Manning, according to On3's name, image and likeness valuations, is the most valuable college athlete in 2025, as he's worth $6.8 million according to the metric. Arch Manning was even recently featured in a Raising Cane's advertisement alongside his dad, Cooper Manning, Archie Manning and LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. MORE: Steve Spurrier questions Arch Manning as Heisman Trophy favorite, Texas as SEC frontrunner Arch Manning, Cooper Manning, Archie Manning, Garrett Nussmeier, and Todd Graves always stop when they pass a Cane's on their way to @Manning Passing Academy What did McConaughey tell Arch Manning as the former No. 1-ranked quarterback takes over as signal caller in 2025 after two years of being Quinn Ewers' backup? "He's way more known than I am, so it's good anytime you get advice from him," Arch Manning said. "… He kind of told me you still have to live your life. He says he goes to the grocery store, walks down every aisle and he lives his life. You can't let you taking a picture or signing an autograph affect your life." Arch Manning passed for 939 yards with nine touchdowns to two interceptions as a redshirt freshman last season, also rushing for 108 yards and four scores. The 6-foot-4 quarterback threw for 325 yards with two touchdowns in a start against Mississippi State, as he filled in for the injured Ewers. Arch Manning is set to be perhaps the most talked about college athlete across all sports in 2025, and he'll look to remember McConaughey's advice as he aims to get Texas back to the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive year.
