Fans stunned by large red marks on American tennis star Ben Shelton at Wimbledon

Tennis fans couldn't help but notice large red marks on the arm of Ben Shelton. The American wore his trademark tank top for a Wimbledon clash with Lorenzo Sonego. And fans watching the action were distracted by the patches on his body. Shelton, 22, had two noticeable large red marks on his left shoulder. The No. 10 seed takes incredible care of his body. And one of the methods he uses is cupping therapy, The Sun reports. It involves suction to draw fluid into the area but can leave marks like the ones on Shelton's arm. The marks are due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin and can look like a bruise. One viewer said, 'Shelton with suction marks on his body. 'He's about to unleash the dragon lol.' Fans first noticed Shelton was using cupping therapy at the 2023 US Open. He played Frances Tiafoe in an all-American clash at the grand slam. 'What are those circles on Ben Shelton's l arm? A rash? On Ashe?' one fan asked. Another suggested, 'Ben Shelton has been doing cupping on his shoulders and upper arms.' Shelton beat Italian player Sonego in four sets on No. 1 Court to book a place in the quarterfinals. The No. 10 seed never previously went beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon. His best grand slam return was the semi-finals twice. He reached that stage of the 2023 US Open as well as the 2025 Australian Open. The American is dating USWNT star Trinity Rodman. The soccer player is also the daughter of basketball icon Dennis Rodman. She supported Shelton from the player's box on Monday. Rodman looked glamorous in a two-piece blue outfit while her partner starred on the court.

AFL 2025: Melbourne forward Jake Melksham on his out-of-contract status

In-form Melbourne forward Jake Melksham is in 'no rush' to sign on for another season. Melksham is poised to challenge his career-best goal tally of 32 in 2018, having kicked 20 in 12 games in the final year of his contract this season. Melbourne is yet to hold any serious conversations with Melksham about his future and he is unsure if he would even accept the offer of an extension. 'I haven't made that decision up in my mind. Once we talk about it, sit down, we'll start to discuss the nuances of it all,' Melksham, in his 16th AFL season, said. 'I'll have a chat with my family as well. I've got young kids that play sport on weekends – I think my son has played 10 games and I've been to two of them. 'He would probably like me at a few more of his games, but in saying that he does like coming to watch his dad at the 'G as well. 'They're all just little things we've got to talk about. As I said, I haven't thought about much of it all to date. 'We've got eight weeks, no rush, I'm not going anywhere – I'll either be at Melbourne or I won't.' Melksham has grown in a leadership capacity in recent seasons, developing into an on-field coach of sorts. But when the curtain does fall on his playing career, Melksham says he is more looking to chase lost time away from footy than a seat in the coaches' box. 'At certain stages when I had my knee and I was putting time into that each week with the group, I enjoyed (coaching),' he said. 'I have a few other off-field interests I like as well that I am doing in parallel with my career at the moment. 'I think when the time comes, when I do finish up, I will stick to those. 'When you finish footy you want to get some of your life back; coaching is probably double the hours we do as players, we have it pretty good.'

NBA world turned on its head as Kevin Durant part of seven team switch

It seems only fitting that the complex Kevin Durant headlined the most complex trade in NBA history. The final terms of the league's first-ever seven-team trade became official Sunday when the moratorium on transactions ended and the new year began. New York Post reported six veteran players and 13 draft picks (one first-rounder and 12 second-rounders) were traded straight up while a second-round pick swap and cash considerations were also included. The final acquisition tally on a trade involving more than 23 per cent of the league's teams looks like this: Rockets - Kevin Durant and Clint Capela Suns - Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, rookie Khaman Maluach, rookie Rasheer Fleming, rookie Koby Brea, Daeqwon Plowden and a second-round pick Warriors - rookies Alex Toohey and Jahmai Mashack Hawks - David Roddy, second-round pick swap and cash Nets - Two second-round picks Since the acquisition of Durant from the Suns was first agreed to, the Rockets enhanced the deal by adding Clint Capela. The 31-year-old rim protector is returning to Houston, where he spent his first six seasons before moving on to the Hawks for the last five. On its surface, it seems foolish that Western Conference title contenders like the Lakers and Timberwolves would be involved in a trade that strengthens the Rockets, who were the No. 2 seed in last year's playoffs but bounced in the first round, and makes it tougher for them to find their own path to the NBA Finals. But that's just not how NBA mega trades are made. Odd partners are aligned for salary-cap purposes, or in the interest of acquiring or sending draft compensation to make deals work. The previous largest trade in NBA history was made last year and was headlined by the Warriors sending franchise icon Klay Thompson to the Mavericks. Russell Westbrook was part of a five-team deal that sent him from the Lakers to the Wizards in 2021. The well-travelled Durant has now played for four of the teams involved in the trade, winning two titles with the Warriors before he left for the Nets and was traded to the Suns after a disappointing tenure in Brooklyn. 'My time in Phoenix has come to an end,' Durant wrote on X. 'All these stops along the journey have really impacted me in a positive way. Remeber [sic] it's a world behind the scenes, and those who make things work in that space, work tirelessly to make our lives easier as players. 'I appreciate all the quick interactions with everybody from support staff to teammates distant cousins, it's all a family that I'm grateful to be apart of, no matter what. I truly believe this nba is a one big community. 'Much love to Arizona. Houston, Can't Wait!'
