E.C. Row Expressway lane closures planned for grass cutting
City of Windsor parks staff will be cutting grass along the E.C. Row beginning this week.
Work is scheduled to start Saturday, July 12, and continue for approximately two weeks. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Rolling lane closures will be in effect in these areas during cutting, but city officials say staff will try to minimize traffic disruptions during rush hour.
Cutting will take place on the centre median between Huron Church Road and Banwell Road. At the completion of the centre medians, cutting will begin on the roadside shoulders and all on- and off-ramps.
Motorists are asked to use extra caution and slow down when seeing workers and traffic protection equipment on or near the roadways.

Rain to start the week with a high of 11 C on Tuesday
July has been an unusually wet month in Calgary. Unofficial rainfall totals from the Environment and Climate Change Canada weather station at YYC International Airport showed nearly 50 millimetres of rain in Calgary from Thursday through Sunday. More rain is expected to start this week beginning Monday afternoon and continuing until Tuesday night. Rain to start the week with a high of 11 C on Tuesday Central Alberta will be the meeting point for two moisture-laden systems coming in from the north and south. The northern low will drag colder air in along it's initial front which will force temperatures to peak well below seasonal values. In Calgary, the high on Tuesday will be just 11 C. Overnight temperatures from Monday to Tuesday will be so low west of Calgary that mixed precipitation and/or snow is possible in some higher-elevation communities. Rain to start the week with a high of 11 C on Tuesday The second system that is tracking along the southern border of Alberta and B.C. will add even more moisture to the corridor from Highway 3 through to Red Deer. Rain will taper off later Tuesday as the upper pattern starts to change and make room a high pressure system from the Pacific basin. Rain to start the week with a high of 11 C on Tuesday Aside from the rain to start the week, temperatures are expected to fluctuate quite quickly. The daytime high on Wednesday will be 11 degrees warmer than Tuesday's. Rain to start the week with a high of 11 C on Tuesday We should see some moderation for the end of the week and the weekend when daytime highs return to values closer to the average high of 23 C. Conditions will be varied over that same period with a mix of sun and cloud Wednesday and Thursday and a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.

Hot, humid weather will return to Toronto this week
People escape the heat and humidity at Cherry Beach in Toronto, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Paige Taylor White Heat and humidity are set to come 'roaring back' into Toronto's forecast later this week after a stretch of comfortable weather in the city, CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter says. Coulter said Monday will be a 'bright, beautiful, and seasonably fresh' day with a high of 25 C. A near-identical forecast is on tap for Tuesday. 'Heat and humidity will be roaring back for Wednesday and the remainder of the long-range forecast,' Coulter added. 'With the heat and humidity firing up midweek, we can also expect a return to unsettled skies for the end of the work week. A heat warning will likely be issued for Thursday, with highs expected to be in the low to mid 30s feeling close to 40.' By Wednesday, overnight lows are only expected to drop to the low 20s, providing little nighttime relief. Environment Canada is calling for a high of 30 C on Wednesday, 33 C on Thursday, and 30 C on Friday. 'Enjoy the fresh, comfortable air while it's here,' Coulter said.
