UFC signee Danylo Voievodkin suspended two years for failed drug test
UFC anti-doping program Combat Sports Anti-Doping announced Thursday that Voievodkin (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) failed an out-of-competition test and has been suspended two years. A sample from an Oct. 17 collection was positive for Meldonium.
Meldonium is 'prohibited at all times substance in the class of Hormone and Metabolic Modulators,' according to CSAD.
'CSAD has further determined that no mitigating factors exist in this case to warrant a departure from the standard 24-month sanction for the use of Meldonium, a non-specified substance under the UFC ADP,' a written statement from CSAD said Thursday.
Ukraine's Voievodkin, 24 had been offered a UFC contract less than one month prior when he upset Bailey Schoenfelder with a quick submission on Dana White's Contender Series.
Voievodkin will be eligible to return Nov. 10, 2026 – two years from when he was placed on suspension.

Paddy Pimblett pours cold water on UFC 319 fight booking rumor
If Paddy Pimblett is supposed to fight later this summer, that's apparently news to him. On Monday, video surfaced of Dricus Du Plessis, who's slated to defend his middleweight title against Khamzat Chimaev on Aug. 16 in the UFC 319 headliner in Chicago, telling friends that the co-main event will feature Pimblett against Justin Gaethje. On Tuesday, Pimblett must've caught wind of the rumor circulating the internet as he reacted on X. "Yous are mad if you think I'm fighting in August," Pimblett wrote, with two laughing emojis. Pimblett's reaction should come as no surprise after he stepped into the cage this past Saturday at UFC 317 in Las Vegas to face off with new lightweight champion Ilia Topuria following his knockout win over Charles Oliveira. All three presumed lightweight title challengers – Pimblett, Gaethje and Arman Tsarukyan, the No. 1 contender in the UFC rankings – were cageside to witness Topuria's crowning moment as a two-division champion. But it was Pimblett whom Joe Rogan called into the cage, which didn't sit well with UFC CEO Dana White. Pimblett has a three-year long beef with Topuria ever since punches flew during a March 2022 confrontation in London. Pimblett, who is coming off third-round TKO win over Michael Chandler in April, is ranked No. 10 in the official UFC lightweight rankings after Topuria's entrance following UFC 317. Gaethje, who is 2-2 in his past four fights, is No. 4.

Dan Hooker targets Arman Tsarukyan for UFC return: 'I'd just like to kick his teeth in'
LAS VEGAS – Good news for MMA fans: Dan Hooker has a timeline for his octagon return. The fan-favorite UFC lightweight is recovering well from his hand injury and expects to be fighting again sometime in October or November, Hooker told MMA Junkie Radio at UFC X. Hooker was scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje earlier this year at UFC 313 in March, but he fractured his hand in training and was forced to withdraw from the bout. Hokker is almost in the clear, and is eager to fight again. Advertisement "I think I'll be good to go in October, November," Hooker said. "I think Gaethje is just going to sit and wait for another title shot. It would be silly to come and fight another contender, but that's what's so interesting about the division now. The title is moving, and over the next couple of months there's going to be a lot of movement in the division. It's good." Hooker expects Gaethje to sit out and campaign for a title shot against the newly crowned UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, making the re-booking of their fight unlikely, at least for the time being. Ideally, Hooker woould like to fight Arman Tsarukyan, also a top contender in the division. "Arman has been calling me out, and that's the No. 1 contender," Hooker said. "No one likes the guy, so I'd just like to kick his teeth in." Tsarukyan is one of the tougher fights in the division, and considered by many the best grappler in the weight class. When asked why he'd want such a tough stylistic matchup, and likely less exciting than the Gaethje fight, Hooker had quite the response. Advertisement "I don't give a f*ck," Hooker said. "Mine was exciting, the (Mateusz) Gamrot fight, because I was able to get up. If they can just hold you down and make it a boring fight, then that's my fault. But because my counter-wrestling is of that level and people just can't hold me down, and I'm able to scramble up to my feet, that's what makes the fight exciting." Michael Bisping guarantees Ilia Topuria fights Paddy Pimblett in Madison Square Garden
Michael Bisping sees Ilia Topuria vs. Paddy Pimblett as the biggest fight the UFC can make right now. Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) faced off with Pimblett (23-3 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in the octagon immediately after he knocked out Charles Oliveira to claim the lightweight title in Saturday's UFC 317 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Lightweight contenders Arman Tsarukyan and Justin Gaethje were also in attendance for the fight, but Bisping sees the UFC capitalizing on the already existing beef between Topuria and Pimblett in the world's most famous arena. "The man's a finishing machine," Bisping said of Topuria on his YouTube channel. "Can Paddy take those kind of shots? I don't know. Can Paddy take him down? I don't know. Can Paddy hang on the ground, can submit him on the ground? I don't know about that, either. But guess what? "All of those questions will be answered when they fight at Madison Square Garden. You can bet your bottom dollar on it. I almost guarantee it, because I don't know – who knows what the UFC has planned? Maybe they've got some surprise up their sleeve. But I can 99.999 percent say Paddy Pimblett, Ilia Topuria, they will be fighting at Madison Square Garden." Luckily for Pimblett, Topuria appears to be interested in defending his title against him the most. Pimblett compared their rivalry to Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, and went as far as saying he hates Topuria.
