Street Fighter: Walton Goggins Allegedly In Talks to Play M. Bison

Walton Goggins had played the villain in a video game movie way back when Alicia Vikander was Tomb Raider , but he could be getting physical in another video game property from Legendary. According to The InSneider, Goggins is currently in talks to play M. Bison for the Street Fighter movie. For context, Bison is considered one of the main villains in the franchise, and was also the main antagonist in the 1993 Street Fighter movie where he was played by Raul Julia. Though that movie is considered terrible by general audiences, it actually has cult status to cinephiles, and Raul Julia's portrayal of Bison was considered one of the best video game villain performances of all time. Going back to Goggins though, we know he can play a great villain, but it does feel like Bison should be able to have the physical chops as well if he's going to be a Street Fighter. If all he has to do is shoot Psycho Crushers at people though, I think it would be fun to just have Goggins just be as ridiculous of a villain as he can be. Heck, he can just do Uncle Baby Billy again from The Righteous Gemstones and I wouldn't complain: Should Goggins get the part, he would be joining a cast which includes Jason Momoa (Blanka), Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), and Roman Reigns (Akuma). Who knows, maybe they can get his Fallout co-star Ella Purnell to be the new Cammy; or should she be a British pop-star as well? No official release date has been set for Street Fighter , but it's expected to come to cinemas on 2026.

Jason Momoa among 4 Actors in Talks to Star in Street Fighter Movie

The Street Fighter movie may have lost Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou , but they got a new director at the helm with Kitao Sakurai ( Bad Trip ). Now it looks like things are moving forward, and we have four actors being considered for what we assume are lead roles. According to Deadline, actors currently in talks to star in Street Fighter include Andrew Koji ( Bullet Train ), Noah Centineo ( Black Adam ), Roman Reigns (WWE), and Jason Momoa ( Aquaman ). Word has it that Koji and Centineo are being eyed to play Ryu and Ken; Reigns is in talks to play Akuma; and Momoa is being considered for the part of Blanka. Jason Momoa is in talks to play BLANKA in the live-action 'STREET FIGHTER' movie He joins Andrew Koji (Ryu) and Noah Centineo (Ken), with #WWE's Roman Reigns is negotiating to play Akuma. The film is being directed by Bad Trip and Twisted Metal's Kitao Sakurai. — Mullti-Fandom Hype (@MulltiFanHype) May 22, 2025 We don't have any details about the story yet, but at best we're going to get a movie where we have a bunch of colorful characters fighting each other. I'll admit, Mortal Kombat could have done better tone-wise, but maybe Street Fighter can learn what not to do from MK 's example. Admittedly, Street Fighter has been having a hard time getting back on the big screen. 2009's The Legend of Chun-Li was a major disappointment; but the live-action Assassin's Fist did get some positive buzz when it came out online. Personally, the 1994 movie featuring Raul Julia is still a favorite of mine (and should be watched by any self-proclaimed cinephile): The new Street Fighter movie still has no release date, but with all these years in development, hopefully it comes out sometime next year.
