recalls making music for his directorial Rajaratha at composer Ajaneesh Loknath's studio a few years ago, when filmmaker Bobby CR walked in and casually greeted him with, 'Hello, Dr Anand.
' 'I was surprised and asked her what she meant,' Anup recalls, adding, 'That's when she shared her idea for a directorial and how she envisioned me playing one of the characters in the film.'
While Anup has made appeared in cameos in his own films before, Bobby's directorial debut Just Married marks his first fullfledged acting debut. 'Having a caravan to myself, an assistant holding an umbrella over me, extended lunch breaks, and watching series in the van during free moments — it was all new to me,' he admits.
'I've never been this relaxed on a set before,' he says. But detaching from the director's mindset wasn't easy.
' Additionally, on working with a female director, Anup tells us, 'I genuinely appreciate the sensibility women bring in. Bobby and I had a wonderfully collaborative process. And as a woman, the perspective she brings to the story is sentimental, sensitive and sensible,' he observes.
